Fined 200 Yuan for Reporting Practitioners to Police
One local police station issued an order on the day before “World Falun Dafa Day”, May 13, 2012, stating that those who reported Falun Gong practitioners distributing truth clarification information materials would be rewarded 50 yuan.
The chief of the Security Department at one Supermarket quickly gathered his staff and told them that anyone who reported Falun Gong practitioners to police would be fined 200 yuan. He also reminded one of the practitioners he knew to watch for plainclothes police because they had been seen recently. He further said: “I will distribute the information materials for you the next few days.”
A Just Neighbor Berates Malicious Policeman
An elderly Falun Gong practitioner was not at home when the police from Jilin Province went to harass her on April 22, 2012. One of her neighbors heard someone knocking on her door, and checked to see what was happening. The police asked this neighbor: “Is this old woman still practicing Falun Gong? We may have to detain her for a couple of days.”
The neighbor blew up at the police: “This elderly lady does not steal or rob anyone, and practices Falun Gong for good health and to be a good person. What earthly reasons could you have to arrest her? Nowadays, you don't arrest bad people, but only harass Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong makes people healthy and teaches them to become good. Is it really just a matter of her belief? Why are you trying to arrest her for the umpteenth time? She not only does the household chores, but also takes care of her disabled husband. Who will take care of him if you arrest her?” The police were embarrassed and left sheepishly, saying something like, “We cannot help it, we have to finish our assignments.”
