Additional Persecution News from China – August 13, 2012 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 19 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuwei City, Gansu Province] Ms. Yao Yufeng Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Yao Yufeng, 60, was arrested at home on the morning of August 7, 2012. Her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Shengjie Detained

Agents from the Guilin Street Police Station arrested Mr. Li Shengjie on July 12, 2012. Mr. Li is being held at the Dalian Detention Center. He has symptoms of a heart disease.

3. [Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Li Youwu Facing Trial

Xinyu City police went to Mr. Li Youwu's tutoring class, which he taught on the evening of October 27, 2011, and arrested him. Mr. Li's trial was scheduled for the morning of August 13, 2012.

4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xuerong Detained, Facing Trial

Ms. Zhang Xuerong has been detained for more than 4 months. She is currently facing trial.

5. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Ran Wenxue Sent to Wumaping Prison

After being illegally sentenced by the Tongchuan District Court, Mr. Ran Wenxue was sent to the Wumaping Prison on July 23, 2012.

Ms. Li Lei was released from police custody on medical bail, but is being closely monitored by authorities.

6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yao Congxiu Arrested and Detained

Agents from the Xinbin County Domestic Security Division went to Ms. Yao Congxiu's home with a locksmith on the morning of August 9, 2012. They ransacked her home, arrested her and took her to the Second Detention Center of Nangou.

7. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Five Practitioners Arrested; One Sentenced to Forced Labor

Ms. Qu Congqi was arrested at her workplace (an air shipping company) on August 2, 2012. Ms. Gao Shuping was arrested several days ago. Mr. Wang Shengshu was arrested on the morning of June 5, 2012, and was taken to a labor camp for a 2-year term. Ms. Lan and Mr. Ji Jian are being held in the Luhongzha Detention Center.

8. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Three Practitioners Detained, Face Trial

Three practitioners, including Ms. He Tianhui, Ms. Xu Manli, Ms. Zhang Zeyu, as well as Mr. Luo Wen who is not a practitioner, were arrested on July 1, 2012. They are currently held in the Dunhuang Detention Center and are facing trial.

9. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Tong Huixian Arrested; Her Home Ransacked

Ms. Tong Huixian, 48, is from Guli Town in Yongkang City. Agents from the Yongkang 610 Office arrested her on the afternoon of August 10, 2012. Her current whereabouts is unknown. Nobody was at home when Police officers ransacked her home when no one was there. They confiscated a computer and other items.

10. [Pi County, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zhang Yuxian and two other practitioners from Zhanqi Village in Tangchang Town were arrested on July 9, 2012, and sent to the Pi County Detention Center. Ms. Zhang was subsequently transferred to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center. Ms. Gao Guoqin and Ms. Liao Dairong are still at the detention center.

11. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Quanshu Arrested

Mr. Zhang Quanshu is a practitioner in Tangsanying Town. Agents from the Longhua County 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and local police station went to his home on the morning of August 12, 2012, and arrested him. They confiscated Falun Gong books and other materials.

12. [Shenqiu County, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Cui Arrested at Home

Lu Feng, chief of the Domestic Security Division, and 6 other police agents arrested Ms. Wang Cui at her home on August 10, 2012. They confiscated a computer, a printer, a DVD burner, and more than 10,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Wang is currently held at the Shenqiu Detention Center.

13. [Gongyi City, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested; Four Detained

Police arrested Ms. Han Qiufen and Mr. Li Taodian on the evening of July 4 and July 31, 2012, respectively.

On the evening of August 9, 2012, police officers went to many practitioners' homes in Xiaoguan Town and harassed them. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Song Guihua were arrested.

Mr. Zhang Yuanheng was arrested on the evening of August 10, 2012. His home was ransacked.

Four practitioners are currently held at the Gongyi City Detention Center, including Mr. Li, Ms. Zhang, Ms. Song Guihua, and Mr. Zhang Yuanheng.

14. [Jinsha County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Zhong Dagang Arrested at Home

Mr. Zhong Dagang was arrested at home on August 8, 2012.

15. [Yongnian County, Hebei Province] Police Attempt to Arrest Ms. Zhang Jianfang

Agents from the local Domestic Security Division and police station attempted to arrest Ms. Zhang Jianfang on July 19, 2012. Ms. Zhang went up to the roof of her home and refused to come down. The officers were not able to carry out the arrest.

16. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ren Haixiang and Ms. Song Qiaorong Arrested

Wu Shuqi, Qiaodong Domestic Security Division agent, arrested Ms. Ren Haixiang (retired teacher from the Dongniujiao Elementary School) and Ms. Song Qiaorong (from Shahe City) on the afternoon of August 12, 2012.

Ms. Song had symptoms of a heart disease and was sent to the Xingtai City Hospital.

Ms. Ren Haixiang was sent to a brainwashing center. Officials extorted 10,000 yuan from her family and before releasing her that same night.

17. [Meicheng Town, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ye Xiufang Arrested

Ms. Ye Xiufang and 70-year-old practitioner Ms. Song spoke to people about Falun Gong and distributed informational materials on the morning of August 9, 2012. Four agents from the Chengdong Police Station and 610 Office arrested them. Officials also ransacked their homes and confiscated Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and currency bills with truth-clarification words written on them. Ms. Song was subsequently released. Ms. Ye is currently held at a detention center.
