Additional Persecution News from China – June 30, 2012 (27 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties and in 13 provinces. In this report, 27 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xie Yuhong Facing Trial

On February 16, 2012, plainclothes officers from the Jiangyuan District Police Station pulled Ms. Gong Qiumin and Ms. Xie Yuhong off a bus and arrested them. The police later ransacked Ms. Xie's home, confiscating a computer and other personal belongings. The two practitioners are being held at the Xieli Detention Center in Jiangyuan District. It is said that Ms. Xie will be tried in July.

2. [Liuhe County, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Bingyu and Mr. Liu Donghai Detained

Ms. Liu Bingyu and Mr. Liu Donghai were arrested by officers from the Liuhe Domestic Security Division on June 11, 2012. They are being held at the Liuhe Detention Center.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Rong Li Arrested at Work in Early June; Her Whereabouts Are Unknown

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province ] Ms. Sun Guifang Sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Sun Guifang was doing odd jobs in Fushun City. She was arrested on April 9, 2012, for speaking with people about Falun Gong. She was held at the Fushun Detention Center and supposed to be released after 15 days. But when her family went to pick her up from the detention center, they learned that Ms. Sun had been sentenced to one year of forced labor and sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

5. [Da'an City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zou Yufang's Home Ransacked

About six officers, including Da'an Domestic Security Division officer Chen Yamin, went to Ms. Zou Yufang's home on the afternoon of June 27, 2012. The police ransacked the home and confiscated a laptop computer, an MP3 player, and other personal belongings. Ms. Zou's whereabouts are unknown. The police attempted to force Ms. Zou's husband to turn her in. The police also ransacked the home of Ms. Deng Shuyan, Ms. Zou Yufang's relative.

6. [Yiliang County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wang Jinxian Arrested Again

Ms. Wang Jinxian, 57, was arrested on April 9, 2012, while speaking with people about Falun Gong on the street in Gucheng Town. She is being held at the Yiliang Detention Center.

Ms. Wang was an employee of the Yiliang Department Store. She was previously arrested in 2007 for speaking with her colleagues and handing out the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. She was sentenced to four years in prison and released in April 2011.

7. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Jin Baozhu Taken to Gulou District Brainwashing Center in Mid-June

8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pang Fang Arrested

Ms. Pang Fang is an announcer with the Jiaozhou Broadcast Television Bureau. She was arrested by several plainclothes officers on June 28, 2012, as soon as she exited her car in her neighborhood. The officers forced Ms. Pang into their car and drove away. Ms. Pang's whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Pang was previously held at the Zhangjiatun Brainwashing Center. She was arrested at work on June 15, 2009. She managed to escape later on and had been away from home for one and a half years.

9. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Xiangju Facing Trial

Officer Wang Zhiyuan from the Domestic Security Division of the Suning Police Department and several other officers went to Ms. Zhao Xiangju's home in Zhaohe Village in mid-April of 2012. They harassed her and forced her to sign a document and be fingerprinted.

Officer Wang Zhiyuan went to Ms. Zhao's home again on June 11 and attempted to force her to go to the court and the Procuratorate. The Procuratorate called Ms. Zhao the next day, saying that she would be tried on June 29.

10. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] More Information on the Arrest of Ms. Deng Suling

About a dozen officers broke into Ms. Deng Suling's home on the afternoon of June 25, 2012, while she was doing household chores. She resisted the police but they carried her and pushed her into the police car and took her away.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Xiu Chunyu Tortured in Prison

Ms. Xiu Chunyu is being held in the No. 11 Prison District in Qianjin Prison. She is shackled, with a helmet on, and confined in a small cell by herself. Several inmates have been monitoring her.

12. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Mingjuan Sentenced to Forced Labor

Ms. Guo Mingjuan was handing out Falun Gong informational DVDs in late April 2012. She was deceived into going to the Nanguan Police Station and was later taken to the Gaomi Detention Center. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor on June 20.

13. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hong Meishuang Taken to Jinan Brainwashing Center

Donggang District 610 Office personnel have been trying to coerce Ms. Hong Meishuang to go to the brainwashing center since May 1, 2012. On June 28, in the early morning, Ms. Hong was arrested while she was on her way to her store. She was taken to the Jinan Brainwashing Center.

14. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Huirong Arrested

Juyang Town government personnel and local police station officers broke into Ms. Chen Huirong's home in Nanguan Village on the afternoon of June 28, 2012, and arrested her.

15. [Sanhe City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Qiuju Arrested

Ms. Wang Qiuju, in her 50s, went to Beicai Market on the morning of June 27, 2012, to get some groceries. She never returned home. Six officers broke into Ms. Wang's home that afternoon. They ransacked the place and confiscated Falun Gong books, two computers, two cellphones, and a great sum of cash. The police told Ms. Wang's family not to disclose any information to others. Ms. Wang's whereabouts are unknown.

16. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ji Guangli Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor

Ms. Ji Guangli was sentenced on June 15, 2012 to one year of forced labor to be served at home under court supervision. On June 26, three officers from the Daminghu Police Station went to Ms. Ji's home, in the name of returning her cellphone. They told Ms. Ji to sign the indictment paper. Ms. Ji refused to sign.

Ms. Ji was previously held at the Guodian Brainwashing Center in 2000 and was hung by handcuffs. In 2002, she was taken to a brainwashing center (set up by the Jinan 610 Office), by personnel from the Daminghu Office of Jinan City Government. After being held for seven months, she was sent to Jinan Forced Labor Camp to serve an 18-month term. The camp authorities later extended her term by more than one month.

17. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Niu Wanjiang and Ms. Zhang Zhenmin Arrested

Two police cars stopped in front of the small restaurant owned by Mr. Niu Wanjiang and his wife Ms. Zhang Zhenmin on the afternoon of June 29, 2012. Six officers got out of the cars and arrested Mr. Niu and his wife. One officer took pictures of the restaurant.

18. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] More Information on the Arrests of 12 Practitioners

On June 11, 2012, 12 practitioners were arrested in front of the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center. Among them, Mr. Li Fubin and Ms. Wu Yuying were sentenced to 18 months of forced labor; Mr. Sun Hong was sentenced to one year of forced labor; and Mr. Li and Mr. Sun were taken to the Ping'antai No. 1 Forced Labor Camp. The camp authorities refused to admit Mr. Li because he did not pass the physical exam because of high blood pressure. But the police refused to release him. Mr. Li's current whereabouts are unknown.

The other practitioners were taken to the Lanzhou Brainwashing Center on the afternoon of June 26, 2012, including Ms. Niu Xiaoqin, Ms. Li Ping, Mr. Zhou Wei, Ms. Wu Lingfang, Ms. Fu Julan, and Ms. Fang.

19. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Guo Nuanxiang Arrested on June 27, 2012

20. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Dahong Missing

Ms. Li Dahong, 48, has been missing since December 2011.

21. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Li Huiming Still Detained

Ms. Li Huiming, 60, was arrested by officers from the Xiaohe Police Station on May 19, 2012. After being detained for 15 days, she was transferred to Jinzhu Police Station under criminal detention. Ms. Li is hospitalized in No. 368 Hospital.

22. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiu Li and Mr. Liu Jian Facing Trial

Ms. Xiu Li from Guanghan City and Mr. Liu Jian from Hubei Province will be tried in Jinniu District Court on July 2, 2012.

Several officers, including Liao Hai, from the Xi'an Road Police Station broke into a rental home in Qingyang Community on June 11, 2012, and arrested Ms. Xiu Li, Ms. Liu Xiaohong, and another practitioner. Mr. Liu Jian was arrested at work on June 14, 2012.

23. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Jinping Taken to Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center

Mr. Chen Jinping was arrested and taken to the Wuhan No. 1 Detention Center. He was due to be released on June 27, 2012. When his family went to the detention center to pick him up on the early morning of June 27, they were told that Mr. Chen had been taken away by the local police station the day before. After much inquiry, his family learned that Mr. Chen is being held at the Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center in Jiang'an District.

24. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xia Jiazuo Arrested

Officers from the Yongchuan District 610 Office in Chongqing broke into the home of Ms. Xia Jiazuo's daughter around May 26, 2012. The police arrested Ms. Xia and another practitioner.

25. [Chongqing] Mr. Kuang Liang Arrested

At noon of June 28, 2012, Mr. Kuang Liang, almost 60, was deceived into going with two officers from the Hongguang Police Station. Three other officers stopped him and forced him to go back home. The police ransacked his home and confiscated some personal belongings. They arrested Mr. Kuang and took him to the Hongguang Police Station.

26. [Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Shilian's Arrest Approved

Ms. Wu Shilian, from Yuexi County, was arrested while speaking with people about Falun Gong in Banqiao Town on May 22, 2012. Ms. Wu was arrested and taken to the detention center. The Yuexi County Police Department quickly approved the arrest. Ms. Wu went on a hunger strike for 20 days. She cannot walk now.

27. [Qingzhen City, Guizhou Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhang Shuangbao and Ms. Wu Xiangzhen, employees of Shuijing Group Ltd., were reported on the afternoon of June 3, 2012, for speaking with people about Falun Gong. They were arrested and taken to the Ma'anshan Police Station. The next day, the Qingzhen Political and Legal Affairs Committee personnel took them to the Qingzhen Detention Center to have physical exams, in an attempt to send them to a brainwashing center. Both of the practitioners had high blood pressure and diabetes. The police had to release them. But the police confiscated their Falun Gong books and other materials and keep monitoring them.

Ms. Qian Shuaiyu, in her 70s, was arrested on the morning of June 23, 2012, by officers from the Ma'anshan Police Station who have been following and monitoring her. The police released her because Ms. Qian is weak and they did not want to be held responsible. The police ransacked Ms. Qian's home and confiscated Falun Gong books and some truth-clarification materials. They are still monitoring Ms. Qian.
