(Minghui.org) Over 700 villagers from Dong'anfeng Village, Zhengding County, Hebei Province, signed a petition in support of rescuing Falun practitioner Mr. Li Lankui. The Chinese regime ignored the will of the public, and instead they sent personnel to harass and intimidate villagers. They pressured the villagers who signed the form. They claimed that they would find the one who sent the news about the petition to be published on the Internet. They arrested Mr. Li's wife and second daughter on August 2, 2012, then arrested two Falun Gong practitioners from the village. They started another round of arrests on August 7. During an attempted arrest, Ms. Yang Yinqiao plunged to her death from a building.

Ms. Yang and her mother were at home on the evening of August 7. Officers from the Beiyuan Police Station broke into her home, searching the place and harassing them. When Ms. Yang's husband got home, he found that Ms. Yang had fallen from the building (they live on the fifth floor). All of the police had fled the scene. Ms. Yang's husband called the emergency number, but it was too late; all rescue measures proved ineffectual. Armed police came and the area was cordoned off. Nobody was allowed to get close to the scene. Ms. Yang's son tried to get in and see his mother for the last time, but was beaten by the officers. The police called Ms. Yang's family and relatives and had them come to the police station and threatened them not to disclose the information.

On the evening of August 7, the Shijiazhuang City Police Department, the Zhengding County Police Department, the Hebei Province Domestic Security Division and 610 Office dispatched many officers and police cars, led by the Beiyuan Police Station, and went to the homes of Ms. Gao Suzhen, Ms. Zhizi, Mr. Yang Rongxia, Ms. Wang Yuexia, and Ms. Yang Yinqiao, in an attempt to arrest them. During the arrest, Ms. Gao lost consciousness and went into convulsions. She was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. More than ten officers were monitoring her at the hospital. The next morning Ms. Gao recovered a little and was taken away. The police also arrested Ms. Zhang Lancui, Ms. Bai Shuqin and her son Mr. Liu Xiaobao from Dong'anfeng Village.

The Chinese regime dispatched personnel to be stationed at the village to conduct investigations. They are not investigating the incidents of officers harassing and arresting villagers, but threatening the villagers and trying to find out who sent the information and photos of the petition to be published on the Internet. The villagers are in distress.

Mr. Li Lankui was sentenced to 15 months of forced labor and is being held at the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp.

More and more Chinese citizens are standing up to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong. The occurrences of people signing a petition to request the release of Falun Gong practitioners have happened one after another. The Chinese regime's suppressing the public will only help people choose the side of justice.
