(Minghui.org) On July 20, 2012, Falun Gong practitioners held a public rally at the State House in Denver, Colorado, opposing the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Several local government officials spoke at the rally and several federal officials sent letters in solidarity with Falun Gong practitioners, including the following letter from US Congressman Ed Perlmutter.

Thank you for hosting this important rally at the State Capitol in support of Falun Gong and calling on the Chinese Communist Party to stop its persecution against practitioners of this peaceful art.
In its belief history, Falun Gong has provided millions of people of all ages and abilities with a form of expression and exercise which enriches their lives. Falun Gong builds inner strength and understanding among its practitioners. And it provides a calm form of stress relief. These benefits, among many others, are admirable goals which the United States supports.
For 13 years now, the Chinese Communist Party has implemented an intolerant policy toward Falun Gong which uses all measures at its disposal to block its practitioners. These tactics include forced labor, imprisonment, and even death. This policy is shocking and horrific to any outside observer. I stand with you all in calling on the CCP to stop this brutality and allow its people to practice this simple, peaceful art.
