(Minghui.org) On July 22, 2012, Falun Gong practitioners in Sydney held an activity called the “Great Wall of Truth” on bustling George Street and in Chinatown, to continue raising awareness about the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China and to call for support to end it. This event was two days after a large rally held by practitioners and local government officials at Town Hall Square, exposing the 13-year persecution of Falun Gong.

Practitioners displayed banners along George Street in Sydney, put up display boards, and handed out informational materials. They wanted to call attention to the crimes committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the grand tide of quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations. They made a special effort to expose the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners with a photo exhibit. Passersby were drawn to the displays and asked for more details. Many people signed a petition to condemn the CCP's inhumane acts. Many local Chinese people learned the truth, saw the CCP's evil nature and announced their resignations from the CCP organizations.

Practitioner Jade from Sydney told the reporter that she personally witnessed the start of the persecution of Falun Gong in China 13 years ago. “I was heading for the Appeals Office in Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Before reaching the Appeals Office, I saw the police arrest practitioners who went to appeal for Falun Gong and put them in several big buses,” said Jade.
Jade continued, “Since the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, I began telling people overseas how the CCP persecutes Falun Gong, and how it implicates the world's people in assisting in the persecution. Now we are calling on everyone to awaken, clearly see the CCP's evil nature, quickly quit its organizations and truly free themselves spiritually from the CCP's control.”
We Risk Our Lives to Help You Become Aware of the Truth
Ms. Liu and her son came to Australia from Shaanxi Province in China six months ago. Her entire family has been subjected to the CCP's persecution for having remained steadfast in their belief in Falun Gong. Her husband is still being held in a prison in China.
Ms. Liu said, “Today I stand in Sydney's Chinatown. I tell Chinese people that the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has gone so far that its agents harvest livers, kidneys and other organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit. Many of the listeners are shocked, but it seems that they don't quite believe this fact. I feel sorry for them. Why have Falun Gong practitioners been so persistent in stepping forward to raise people's awareness about the persecution, even though [in China] they know they may lose their jobs or even their lives for speaking out the truth? The reason is that they want to awaken people's conscience, to help them understand the true situation, and therefore they will make the right decision for their future,” said Ms. Liu.
Give Themselves a Fair Choice
Nini came from China not long ago. She was busy helping Chinese people quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. When asked why she volunteered to do so, she told the reporter that many people in China have been heavily deceived by the CCP's lies. After coming abroad, she felt that many overseas Chinese people's minds have also been seriously poisoned by the CCP's propaganda. She hoped to help them have a correct understanding of the true situation.
“So that they won't be deceived by the CCP's one-sided propaganda, but use their own minds to judge who is right and who is wrong; that's fair for them,” said Nini.
Nini, 22 years old, hopes that young Chinese her age will learn more about the truth. Because they have received the CCP's education since they were young, they have never heard a different voice.
Australians' Support
Brad Berkel lives in downtown Sydney. He has often seen Falun Gong practitioners hold activities downtown to raise people's awareness about the persecution. He told the practitioners, “Your truth-clarification activity is very meaningful. I support you. You should let more people know about it, and keep holding these activities, because many people still don't know [the facts].”
A man listened to a practitioner talking about the persecution of Falun Gong. Although he felt that the persecution is far away from him, he still believed that people should help each other to stop the evil.
