Additional Persecution News from China – July 16, 2012 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 6 provinces. In this report, 20 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] At Least 14 Practitioners Incarcerated in Songyuan Detention Center

Officials from the Songyuan Domestic Security Division and the Ningjiang District Police Department arrested over a dozen practitioners in Songyuan City on April 23, 2012. Currently, 13 practitioners are still incarcerated in the Songyuan Detention Center, including Ms. Gao Fengqin, Mr. Cheng Guangcan and his wife, Mr. Wang Wei, Ms. Yu Lanxiang and her husband, Mr. Liu Dianjun, Ms. Jiang Shufang, Ms. Zou Chunxiang, Ms. Huo Fenglan, Ms. Ren Shuyan, Ms. Zheng Shuqin and Ms. Geng Guifen.

Officials from the Songyuan Domestic Security Division ransacked Mr. Cheng Guangcan’s home and confiscated his bank books with access to 15,200 yuan and a pay card.

Ma Hongzhe, head of the Domestic Security Division, interrogated Ms. Gao Fengqin through torture. Ma put Ms. Gao's hands behind her back and handcuffed them to the chair. He then bent her head back and forcefully inserted mustard oil into her mouth, covering her mouth with a towel to block her from spitting it out thereafter. Ms. Gao was also not allowed to eat or drink for more than 20 hours.

Ms. Shi Xiufang was arrested on the morning of July 4, 2012, by four agents from the Ningjiang District Domestic Security Division. She is currently held in the Songyuan City Detention Center.

2. [Beijing] 25 Practitioners Transferred to Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia

The Beijing Women’s Forced Labor Camp transferred 25 practitioners to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia. Among these practitioners was Ms. Wang Shaohua, who is from Harbin City and used to work in Beijing.

3. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Jian Sentenced to Forced Labor

Mr. Li Jian from Huangshiliang Village, Caofan Town, was arrested when he spoke to people about Falun Gong. The authorities sentenced him to one year of forced labor and detained him in the Shandong Province Second Forced Labor Camp.

4. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Lixin Injured in Police Custody

Ms. Yu Lixin was arrested and taken to the Pingshan Police Station on June 28, 2012, by officers from the Domestic Security Division. While detained there, she fell from the second floor. Her vertebra was fractured, requiring surgery, which was performed in the Bengang General Hospital on July 9, 2012.

5. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cui Jingyong Arrested

Mr. Cui Jingyong was arrested on July 15, 2012, by Yi County police.

6. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Cheng Liguo Arrested; Home Ransacked

Mr. Cheng Liguo was arrested on the evening of July 14, 2012. His home was ransacked.

7. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province]Ms. Zhang Jinyu Detained; Home Ransacked

Officers from the Langjun Police Station arrested Ms. Zhang Jinyu on July 6, 2012, and took her to the Yingcheng Detention Center. Four days later, police station head Wang Weihong led agents from the 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division to her home and ransacked it.

Mr. Zhao Tianqin was arrested at home on July 12, 2012, by officers from the Koubu Town Police Station.

9. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ma Fuhai Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Ma Fuhai was recently arrested at home and taken to a brainwashing center.

10. [Shahe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Lianzhen Arrested

Ms. Wang Lianzhen from Shahe City, Hebei Province, was arrested when she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 13, 2012.

11. [Wulanhaote City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Jia Fengyan Detained

Ms. Jia Fengyan was arrested by officers from the Heping Police Station when she posted Falun Gong informational materials on the afternoon of June 28, 2012. She was subsequently taken to the Wulanhaote City Police Department. Wu Baoshan, Domestic Security Division head, transferred her to the Wulanhaote City Detention Center 24 hours later.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yao Guofen’s Whereabouts Unknown Since 2011 Arrest

Ms. Yao Guofen was an employee of the Shuiguohu Hospital in Wuhan City. She was arrested when she went out on the evening of January 8, 2011. Her whereabouts have been unknown ever since.

13. [Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Qiu Liying, Mr. Sun Tao, Ms. Li Huiyun and Mr. Song Hongshui are currently detained in the Shijiazhuang Second Detention Center.
