(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Hongbin has been subjected to several forms of torture at both Shandong Provincial No. 1 and No. 2 forced labor camps. The guards cruelly beat him and shoved bamboo sticks under his fingernails. They also used eight electric batons to shock him continuously and roasted him. In March 2012, Mr. Xu was arrested at home and taken to the Shandong Provincial No. 2 Forced Labor Camp. In addition to suffering a number of tortures, the guards forced him to take unknown drugs every day and subjected him to sleep deprivation.

Forced Administration of Drugs

When the guards tried to force Mr. Xu to take some kind of medication, he refused. Then the guards ordered 12 inmates to stand on Mr. Xu's arms and legs. They pinched his nose and poured the tablets down his throat. They forced him to take a variety of unknown pills every day. Every time, he felt dizzy and nauseous. Later, he vomited and had dark green diarrhea, but the guards would not allow him to go to the toilet or take a bath.

Under the effect of these drugs, Mr. Xu often felt dizzy, especially when he tried to walk. He frequently passed out and fell. Soon after, he had many symptoms, such as weakness, dizziness, and being unable to lift his hands and feet. The guards also deprived him of sleep. Due to the torture, he became sleepy and dizzy. The guards then forced him to take “medicine” to help his “condition.”

Torture re-enactment: Stretched into the spread-eagle position

In the labor camp, Mr. Xu was beaten by inmates and guards. He went on a hunger strike to protest. The guards stretched his legs and arms in the spread-eagle position and handcuffed him to four fixed rings on the ground so he was unable to move.

Stewing the Eagle”

The guards cuffed Mr. Xu's hands behind his back and hung him up in the air for five days and nights. During the heat of summer, Mr. Xu was hung beside a fire in a hut. They literally roasted him. When the guards closed the door, the intense heat made it difficult for him to breathe. As a result, Mr. Xu fainted several times.

Punched and Kicked

The guards grabbed Mr. Xu's hair and fiercely slapped him in the face. They punched and kicked him into unconsciousness several times. His face was swollen from the beatings and the flesh around his eyes turned black and blue.

Prolonged Sitting on a Bench

Torture re-enactment: Forced to sit on a bench for long periods of time

As a form of torture, the guards forced Mr. Xu to sit on a bench from morning to midnight.

From September to December 2011, they poured cold water over him, beat him with an iron bar, and burned his palms and the soles of his feet with a cigarette lighter.

In September 2011, Mr. Xu was arrested by the police in his own company and taken to the Shandong Provincial No. 2 Forced Labor Camp. His business license was canceled and the guards confiscated many of his personal belongings from his office.

In the labor camp Mr. Xu was forced to stand outside all night until dawn. The guards did not allow him to sleep. Every day, he was forced to do hard labor for over ten hours, manufacturing packaging cartons and small square scarves. At the same time, the guards used any spare time during labor breaks to repeatedly try to brainwash him into renouncing Falun Gong.

Mr. Xu refused to be "transformed." Every day the guards poured cold water on him, beat him with iron bars, and burned his palms and the soles of his feet with a lighter. His hands and feet were badly burned and he was unable to walk. Once, the guards forced him to sit on the floor and made him keep his legs straight. They ordered a few people to stand on his legs and then stomp on them. Then they kicked his belly with their shoes, causing him to faint.

Mr. Xu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He was tied to a bed and savagely force-fed. As a result of the forced-feeding, he kept vomiting and was in great pain. The labor camp guards sent Mr. Xu to a hospital in Jinan City for a full physical and blood tests. Later Mr. Xu was detained in the hospital. In December 2011, he managed to evade the monitor and escaped from the hospital.

Tortured from January 2010 to July 2011

In January 2010, Mr. Xu was arrested by Jinan City police and then taken to the Shandong Provincial No. 1 Prison. During his one year and seven months there, he was tortured in many ways: thugs surrounded him and beat him for four hours; a bamboo stick was nailed into a fingernail; they used boards embedded with nails to beat his legs and arms; they used eight fully charged electric batons to continuously shock him; they forced him to stand in the snow with bare feet causing his feet to become severely frostbitten. After Mr. Xu was released in July 2011, the guards have continued to intimidate and harass him nonstop.
