(Minghui.org) Between noon and 1 p.m. on July 3, 2012, Falun Gong practitioner from Wendeng City Ms. Zhang Shuxiang went to another practitioner's home to visit, and was arrested by police from the Domestic Security Department.
Police officers forcibly confiscated and searched Ms. Zhang's handbag. A witness said that three or four people in plainclothes came in a vehicle with regular license plates. One elderly woman, who looked like Domestic Security Department police officer Wang Ling, was robbing and searching Ms. Zhang's handbag. In protest, Ms. Zhang shouted: "Why are you searching my bag?" After that, the officers pushed Ms. Zhang into their vehicle and confiscated her Dafa book and DVDs. Police officers also searched her home twice and confiscated some truth-clarification materials.
Ms. Zhang was interrogated by Li Yinglin from the Domestic Security Department, who is known for actively carrying out the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Zhang refused to sign or leave her fingerprints on a “statement” renouncing Falun Gong. She was released that afternoon.
Before Ms. Zhang was arrested, another practitioner, Ms. Fu in her 60s, was arrested because someone reported her, and then a female clerk from their local residential management committee led police to her home.
Ms. Zhang, a resident from Wendeng City in Shandong Province, is in her 70s. For more than 10 years, because Ms. Zhang has been persistently practicing Falun Gong and holding herself to the standards of "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance," she has been harassed, arrested, detained and thrown into forced labor camps by people from the 610 Office in Wendeng City and police officers from the Domestic Security Department.
Before she began to practice Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang was very ill and had been hospitalized many times. She went all over looking for a cure in vain. After she heard that practicing Falun Dafa would lead to healing and fitness, she began to practice Falun Gong. Since then, she has been following the teachings of Falun Gong and trying to be a good person. Therefore, soon after she began to practice, she became healthy and fit. During the earthquake in Sichuan and Gansu Provinces, Ms. Zhang and her husband donated 4,000 yuan from their savings to buy blankets and clothes for those impacted by the earthquake.
