Congress of the United States
House of Representatives
Washington, DC 20515-3210
July 20, 2012
To: Falun Dafa Supporters
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to address your gathering today. I want to first of all welcome my constituents from the 10th District of New York as well as Falun Dafa supporters from across this great nation who have gathered to support human and religious rights for Falun Dafa practitioners. This rally marks 13 years since the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. I may not be here in person, but I join you in your peaceful fight to help those who practice Falun Dafa in China.
I commend you for continuing to bring awareness to the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party. I join you in urging the Chinese Communist Party to end its persecution of Falun Dafa. I am proud to add my support for those that do not have a voice, and call for an end to the oppression against those that practice Falun Dafa.
Falun Dafa teaching serves to remind us of the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. Despite 13 years of persecution of Falun Dafa by the Chinese Communist Party, the influence of this spiritual practice and movement has only continued to grow. The Chinese Communist Party would be wise to recognize that rather than a threat, Falun Dafa is a practice of peace and tolerance that can impact the health and well-being of people around the would.
Myself, and members of the United States Congress are with you. We encourage you to continue your peaceful fight.
Sincerely,
Edolphus “ED” Towns
Member of Congress
10th District, New York
