Ms. Liu Kaimei Tortured in Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp; Her Prison Term Extended

(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Kaimei, a Falun Gong practitioner from Nanjing City, was tortured in Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp for one year. She should have been released upon completing her term, but authorities have extended her imprisonment because she would not renounce her faith in Falun Gong.

Family Persecuted for Over a Decade

Ms. Liu was born in 1966. She worked as an engineer at the Education Bureau in Nanjing City. Her husband, Mr. Zhang Xuefeng, who is one year older than her, worked as a civil engineer at the Nanjing Industrial College. The Nanjing City Court had illegally sentenced Ms. Liu and Mr. Zhang to 7 years and 8.5 years of imprisonment, respectively, for practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Liu was jailed at the Nantong Women's Prison, while her husband was held at the Suzhou Prison. Both were grossly mistreated.

When Ms. Liu and Mr. Zhang were released from jail, they were not allowed to return to their job posts. They also saw that their child had been gravely effected by their absence, both physically and mentally.

Officials from the Nanjing 610 Office continued to persecute the family thereafter. On May 16, 2011, Ms. Liu was arrested again. Because she was physically weak from years of mistreatment in jail, officials from the Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp refused to accept her five times. However, police officer Xiao Ningjian from Nanjing took her to the labor camp again and eventually succeeded in getting her admitted through underhanded means.

Ms. Liu was severely tortured in the Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp by being dragged on the ground by inmates and through other means.

Over 1,000 Falun Gong Practitioners Tortured in Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp

The Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp is a dark dungeon where more than a thousand Falun Gong practitioners have been mistreated. Labor camp personnel has utilized torture methods such as forcing practitioners to stand or squat for extended periods of time, depriving them of restroom use, forcing them to sleep in a tiny space and depriving them of sleep. They have also beaten practitioners, sexually abused them and shocked them with electric batons, as well as threatened them with scorpions and poisonous insects.

Some practitioners were exposed to the scorching sun in the summer for prolonged periods of time, while others were forced to wear very little while being outdoors in the cold winter for refusing to be “transformed” and sign the guarantee statement to promise to stop practicing Falun Gong.

At least nine Falun Gong practitioners had a mental collapse as a result of the abuse they had suffered in the Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp, including Dai Xiaomin, Zhou Xinfang, Kong Qingmei, Liu Dongmei, Peng Xiuying, Dong Min, Liu Shuyun, Zhao Wenying, and Zhao Yumei.

Wang Yuqin, one of the tortured Falun Gong practitioners, passed away soon after returning home. Two other practitioners, Wang Jiping and Huang Hongping, became paralyzed after being tortured. It is suspected that others also became paralyzed due to torture in this labor camp.

Police officer Zheng Qihui, captain of the labor camp's brigade No. 3, colluded with Tang Guo Fang from the Reeducation Through Labor Bureau in Jiangsu Province to severely persecute Falun Gong practitioners at the labor camp, committing many vicious crimes.
