Additional Persecution News from China – June 29, 2012 (21 Reports)

 (Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhou Meili, Ms. Rao Fenglan, and Ms. Zhang Dadi Persecuted in Prison

Ms. Zhou Meili, Ms. Rao Fenglan, and Ms. Zhang Daidi are being held in the Xinjian County Women's Prison in Nanchang City. In order to forcibly “transform” Ms. Zhou, guards directed collaborators to monitor her around the clock and prohibited family visits unless she “transformed.” Ms. Rao is being held in solitary confinement.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Seven Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

The Wuchang District Court in Wuhan City sentenced seven practitioners from three to six years in prison. They are Mr. Zhang Su, Mr. Zhang Weijie, Mr. Feng Zhen, Ms. Feng Yun, Mr. Xiong Weiming, Mr. Xia Yang and Ms. Han Shuhua. Mr. Zhang Su, Mr. Zhang Weijie, Mr. Feng Zhen, and Mr. Feng Yun have lodged appeals to the higher court.

3. [Chenzhou, Hunan Province] Mr. Chen Yiyuan Passed Away

Directed by the 610 Office, officers from Yongxing and Anren barged into Mr. Chen Yiyuan's home in Yongxing, Chenzhou, and arrested him on April 20, 2003. Nine months later, Mr. Chen was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Anran County Court in Chenzhou and was sent to the Jin City Prison in Changde. Mr. Chen was forced to wear a uniform in prison and was monitored around the clock by criminals. He was forced to work for 14 hours a day, and before his release, he was injected with unidentified drugs in the prison hospital.

Mr. Chen was released from the Wangling Prison and came back to Chenzhou in April 2011. He was extremely frail. After the release, he was still being constantly harassed, threatened, and terrified by over 30 agents from the Chenzhou 610 Office, Chenzhou State Security Bureau, and the local police station. Mr. Chen passed away in March, 2012.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qin Yulan and Elderly Ms. Wang Arrested

Ms. Qin Yulan and elderly Ms. Wang from the Jinzhou District in Dalian City were arrested by officers from the Harbinlu Police Station in the New Jinzhou District on the afternoon of June 21, 2012. Their homes were subsequently ransacked and photos of the founder of Falun Gong, printers, computers, informational materials about Falun Gong, and cash to the value of over 34,000 yuan were confiscated. Ms. Qin and Ms. Wang were taken to the 8-1 Ward of the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian that evening.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xiuqin and Ms. Li Ji Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiuqin and Ms. Li Ji from Dongshidao Street, Dehui City, Jilin Province were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division for handing out CDs containing software used to break Internet blockade on June 21, 2012. Ms. Wang was released that evening and Ms. Li is being held in the Dehui City Detention Center.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Shengguo and Three Other Practitioners Sentenced

Mr. Zhang Shengguo and his wife, Ms. Hou Yinghua ,from Harbin were both sentenced to nine years in prison. Ms. Xiao Kun and her sister, Ms. Xiao Yang, were both sentenced to seven years in prison.

7. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yao Chengda Arrested

Mr. Yao Chengda was arrested at home by officers from the Jixi City Police Department on the afternoon of June 27, 2012 and taken to the Jixi City Brainwashing Center.

8. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ruanjing Taken to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Ruan Jing from the Quanyang Forest Bureau in Fusong County, Baishan City, was reported to the police and consequently arrested for explaining facts about Falun Gong to people on June 8, 2012. She was taken to the Fusong County Detention Center. On the afternoon of her 13^th day in the center, officers from the Fusong County Police Department took Ms. Ruan to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City for a term of one year.

9. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dong Xiaoming Arrested

Ms. Dong Xiaoming, a teacher at the Dongzhangzi Primary School in Beilu Township, Lingyuan City, was reported to the police by a student's parents for playing a DVD that explained the facts about Falun Gong to her students. She was arrested by Wang Guilin, chief of the Lingyuan City Domestic Security Division; Chen Zhi, deputy director; and officers from the Beilu Police Station on the morning of June 4, 2012. Ms. Dong is being held in the Lingyuan City Detention Center.

10. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hong Meishuang Arrested

Ms. Hong Meishuang from Rizhao City is in her 50s. She was arrested at home on the morning of June 28, 2012.

11. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Minglun Arrested

Ms. Guo Minglun from Yuncheng was detained around June 13, 2012, when she and a family member went to the police station to ask for the return her family member's computer that the police had taken using the pretense of examining a virus. Her whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Liu Xiurong and Ms. Chen Jucui Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Liu Xiurong and Ms. Chen Jucui were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong in a suburban area of Xian City on June 11, 2012. They were taken to the Lintong District Brainwashing Center in Xian.

13. [Shanghai] Ms. Liu Wenying Arrested on the Evening of May 27, 2012

Ms. Zeng Derong, in her 50s, is from Laodongcun, Yangjiaping, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. She was arrested by officers from the Jilongpo District State Security Bureau on June 28, 2012. Her four computers, three printers, informational materials about Falun Gong, cash, and other items were confiscated. She is being held in the Huayan Detention Center.

15. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Lin Lifang Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Lin Lifang from Jiaoling, Meizhou City, was arrested on the morning of May 28, 2012. She was taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center on the morning of June 26, 2012.

16. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yan Sanyan and Ms. Xiao Donge Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yan Sanyan and Ms. Xiao Donge are both retired from the Xiangtan Iron & Steel Corporation. They were detained at home and taken to the Wujia Garden Brainwashing Center in Xiangtan by agents from the Xiangtan Iron & Steel Corporation and plainclothes officers from Xiangtan City on June 13, 2012. They were released after being held there for nine days.

17. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Xiaolan and Ms. Yuan Xiufeng Arrested

Ms. Yang Xiaolan and Ms. Yuan Xiufeng from Dongkou County, Shaoyang City, were arrested by officers from the Hongyan Town Police Station for explaining facts about Falun Gong to people in Hongyan Town, Suining County, on June 20, 2012. They are being held in the Suining County Detention Center.

Officers from the Gaosha Town Police Station in Dongkou County, Shaoyang City, barged into Mr. Huang Xianzhi's home on the afternoon of June 26, 2012, and took Mr. Hong to the Gaosha Police Station.

18. [Qionglai City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Zhiming Left Home to Avoid Arrest

Mr. Li Zhiming is in his 70s and lives in Datong Township, Qionglai City. Over ten agents from the Xijiao Police Station and the Datong Township Government went to Mr. Li's home and attempted to arrest him but were unsuccessful. They confiscated a computer and a printer instead. Mr. Li had no choice but to leave home and move from place to place in order to avoid being arrested.

19. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Shurong Arrested

When the Shiyan City Court was trying practitioner Mr. Liu Hongquan on June 19, 2012, Mr. Li Shurong, who was near the courthouse, was arrested by a plainclothes officer. His whereabouts are still unknown.

20. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Yinzhen and Ms. Yan Zhenxiang Arrested

Ms. Wang Yinzhen and Ms. Yan Zhenxiang from Xiaogan City were reported to the police and subsequently arrested by officers including Hu Hegang from the Jingwu District in Weidian on the evening of June 21, 2012, for explaining the facts about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Xiaogan Detention Center and held there for five days. They were released on June 27, 2012.

21. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Dongmei Sent to Forced Labor Camp for a Term of One Year

Ms. Zhang Dongmei was arrested by officers from the Pozijie Police Station on the afternoon of June 11, 2012, for telling people facts about Falun Gong on Buxing Street, Huangxing Road, Changsha City. She was taken to the Changsha City Detention Center on June 12, 2012, and transferred to the Baimalong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City on June 27 for a term of a year.
