(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 32 cities or counties in 13 provinces. In this report, 20 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 35 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Baise, Guangxi Province] Ms. Zhang Xinyu Detained for Extended Term
Ms. Zhang Xinyu, about 40 years old, was a nurse at the Guangxi Hospital. Since the Chinese Communist Party launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, she has been detained in forced labor camps twice, for seven years in total, for practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Zhang was supposed to be released from the Guangxi Forced Labor Camp on April 9, 2012. However, the labor camp did not release her and extended her term.
In the labor camp, two inmates were ordered to watch her around the clock; they did not allow her to talk to others. Ms. Zhang was also physically mistreated. One of her legs was severely injured, and she now has difficulty walking; she needs a push-cart to get through even a very short distance. She has also become very thin.
2. [Wulian County, Shandong Province] Ms. Xiao Ma Arrested
Ms. Xiao Ma, in her 40s, lives in Yanjiazhuang, Kouguanxiang Town, Wulian County, Shandong Province. She was arrested on the night of April 11, 2012, and detained in the Kouguang Police Station.
3. [Changsha County, Hunan Province] Mr. Li Xuangang Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown
Mr. Li Xuangang, 46, lives in Guoyuan Town, Changsha County. On April 9, 2012, he was arrested on his way to work at a construction site in Chibi City, Hubei Province. His whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Lulong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Kai Mistreated by Police
On March 27, 2012, Mr. Li Kai drove an electric tricycle and clarified the facts about Falun Gong to the passing-by high school students. Several policemen stopped his tricycle, smashed the window, dragged him out of the tricycle and beat him up. The policemen grabbed his hair, pressed his head on the ground and dragged him around. As a result, his face was covered with blood. The policemen then handcuffed him in the back and pushed him into a police vehicle. Mr. Li was taken to the Chengguan Police Station and tortured there. Later on, an official from Xiazhai Township picked him up and sent him home. His tricycle, money, Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, Falun Gong books and cell phone were confiscated.
5. [Baishan, Jilin Province] Ms. Gong Qiumin Arrested
Ms. Gong Qiumin from Jiangyuan District, Baishan, was arrested at home on the afternoon of April 20, 2012.

6. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Zongxuan Detained
Mr. Wang Zongxuan was arrested on March 20, 2012, and is currently detained in the Weifang Detention Center.
7. [Mianyang, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yan Xiaolin Taken to Brainwashing Center
On April 8, 2012, several Domestic Security Division officers rushed into the home of Ms. Yan Xiaolin, a teacher at Southwest University of Science and Technology in Mianyang, Sichuan. They ordered Ms. Yan to write a guarantee statement to promise to stop practicing Falun Gong. When Ms. Yan refused, the officers forcibly took her to a brainwashing center.
8. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Mr. Ren Ming Arrested
Mr. Ren Ming from Hongshan District, Wuhan, was arrested by officers from the Hongshan 610 Office on the afternoon of April 19, 2012.
9. [Yichang, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Yongsheng Taken to Brainwashing Center
On April 20, 2012, Mr. Zhang Yongsheng from Gezhouba, Yichang, was taken to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center by officers from the Gezhouba 610 Office and personnel from the security section of his company.

10. [Chongqing] Ms. Yuan Suzhen Sent to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Yuan Suzhen from Yongchuan was arrested by officers from the Yongchuan 610 Office on the afternoon of April 16, 2012. She is currently detained in the Taohuayuan Brainwashing Center.
11. [Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Lin Chuan Illegally Sentenced and Detained
Ms. Lin Chuan was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. She was transferred to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center, used to detain Falun Gong practitioners, on the afternoon of April 18, 2012.
12. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Congming Arrested
Mr. Wang Congming, 41, from Miyun County, Beijing, was arrested around April 10, 2012.
Mr. Wang graduated from China University of Political Science and Law. He was a judge in Miyun County. After the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Wang was fired for his belief. In 2006, he was sent to a forced labor camp for speaking to people about Falun Gong. He was brutally forced-fed while in detention.
13. [Linyi, Shandong Province] Ms. Zheng Shuhong Transferred to Linyi Detention Center
Ms. Zheng Shuhong was transferred from a brainwashing center to the Linyi Detention Center on April 20, 2013.
14. [Anguo, Hebei Province] Mr. Xiao Xiangyu Arrested and Detained
Mr. Xiao Xiangyu was arrested on the street on the afternoon of April 23, 2012. He is currently detained in the Yaoshi Police Station in Anguo.

15. [Songyuan, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Wei Arrested
Mr. Wang Wei was arrested in Jiangbei on the afternoon of April 23, 2012. Two sites in Kelefangzi and Qiliangdian where practitioners produced informational materials about Falun Gong were also destroyed.
16. [Yanji, Jilin Province] Many Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested
The Yanji police arrested many local Falun Gong practitioners on April 17 and 18, 2012. Among of them, Ms. Zheng Xiuqin has been detained in a brainwashing center and Ms. Liu Chunli has been detained in the Yanji Detention Center. Ms. Xiao Xiu has been released, but she was severely injured in custody. Other Falun Gong practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.
17. [Nanchong, Sichuan Province] Mr. He Junhua Sent to Brainwashing Center
Mr. He Junhua from Shunqing District was taken to a brainwashing center by plainclothes policemen from Shunqing on April 11, 2012.
18. [Jiangyou, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cai Guangyu Sent to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Cai Guangyu from Wudu Town, Jiangyou, was taken away from her home by officers from the Wudu Police Station on April 13, 2012. She was sent to a brainwashing center.

19. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Ms. He Jie Arrested
Ms. He Jie was arrested and taken to the Nanjie Police Station on the afternoon of April 23, 2012.
20. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Mi Shuhua Arrested
Ms. Mi Shuhua was arrested on April 23, 2012.
21. [Siping, Jilin Province] Ms. Huang Caiyun Arrested
Ms. Huang Caiyun from Xiaochengzi Town, Lishu County, Siping, was taken away from her home by police on April 19, 2012. She was sent to the Lishu Police Department.
22. [Jiyuan, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Congzhi Detained
Ms. Liu Congzhi was arrested on April 19, 2012. She is currently detained in the Jiyuan Detention Center.
23. [Fushun, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guifen Arrested
Ms. Sun Guifen from Jinzhou, Dalian, Liaoning Province, was arrested by officers from the Shuncheng District Police Station while she spoke to people about Falun Gong in Fushun on the afternoon of April 23, 2012. Her cell phone was confiscated by police.
24. [Huolinguole, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Chen Yuqin's Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Chen Yuqin's home was ransacked by Zhang Yushu and other policemen from the Huolinguole Police Department on the morning of April 18, 2012. Her whereabouts are unknown.

25. [Suizhong, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Xiaoyan Persecuted in Masanjia Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Li Xiaoyan was arrested near the Nursing Home of the Xingcheng Weapon Department on October 23, 2011. Later, she was sentenced to 21 months of forced labor. On November 4, 2011, Zhao Liyang, deputy chief of the Bianfang Police Station and other officers sent her to the Masanjia Women Forced Labor Camp.
As a result of persecution in the labor camp, Ms. Li has become severely ill. She often has nose bleeds and spits up blood, and she feels dizzy and weak. However, the labor camp officials still force her to do slave labor, despite her poor physical health.
26. [Ziyang, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wu Guangwan Arrested and Detained
On the morning of April 11, 2012, Mr. Wu Guangwan from Zhongtian Town, Lezhi County, Ziyang, was arrested at home and taken to the Erehu Brainwashing Center.
27. [Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province] Ms. Deng Mei Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Deng Mei from Suixi County, Zhanjiang, was arrested on the street by Yang Xin and other officers from the Suixi 610 Office on the morning of April 14, 2012. She is currently detained in the Zhanjiang Brainwashing Center.

28. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yang Chunling Arrested
Two policemen from the Dongan Police Department rushed into the restaurant owned by Mr. Yang Chunling on April 16, 2012, arrested Mr. Yang and took him to the police department.
29. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Qianjin Forced Labor Camp Guards Torture Practitioners
In December 2011, guards in the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp forcibly stripped off Ms. Zhang Baohua' cotton-padded pants, poured water on her underpants and shocked her with electric batons. Ms. Zhang was also tied to a steel chair and placed outside in the cold for two days.
From February 9 to March 7, 2012, Wang Xiaowei, chief of the Second Division of the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp, conducted another round of persecution on Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Zhao Yuxia and Ms. Fang Guilan were electrically shocked. They were not allowed to sleep for seven days and seven nights. As a result of persecution, Ms. Zhao Yuxia became incontinent.
Wang Zongliang also forced-fed Ms. Fang Guilan. He inserted a tube into her nose and pulled it out five or six times, which caused her to bleed profusely.
30. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Xingye's Detention Extended
Mr. Zhang Xingye's detention term was supposed to expire on April 18, 2012. When his family went to pick him up, they were informed that he had been taken to the Yichun Brainwashing Center by officers from the 610 Office.
31. [Pengshan County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Deng Jiangang Tortured in Wumaping Prison
Mr. Deng Jiangang from Pengshan County was illegally sentenced in 2008. He was detained in the Wumaping Prison, where he was severely tortured and got water in his lung as a result. After being treated, Mr. Deng was sent to the Pengshan Detention Center. Guard Fu Yan then took him back to the prison. Mr. Deng currently spits up blood and is in critical condition.

32. [Linshu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xuerong Detained
On April 3, 2012, Ms. Zhang Xuerong and her family from Jinan, Shandong Province, went to Linshu to visit relatives. Ms. Zhang was reported to police while she distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. She was arrested by officers from the Linshu 610 Office and is currently detained in the Linshu Detention Center.
33. [Suzhou, Jiangsu Province] Five or Six Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested and Detained
Five or six Falun Gong practitioners were arrested on the afternoon of April 18, 2012, when they gathered to study Falun Gong teachings at Ms. Sun's home at Donggangxin Village, Suzhou. The practitioners are being detained in the Suzhou Detention Center.
34. [Yanji, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Qiyu Arrested
Ms. Li Qiyu was arrested on April 17, 2012.
35. [Beijing] Ms. Li Yan Arrested
Ms. Li Yan was arrested in March 2012. Previously, she had been detained in the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp in 2005 and 2008, for two years and two and a half years, respectively.
36. [Tang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Chunxian Detained
Ms. Zhang Chunxian from Xixiasu Village, Tang County, was taken away from home by officers from the Tang County Police Department on the morning of April 13, 2012. She is currently detained in the Tang County Detention Center.
37. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Spacecraft 7111 Factory Persecutes Falun Gong Practitioners
In the beginning of April 2012, a Falun Gong practitioner wrote a letter to the leaders of the Spacecraft 7111 Factory in Wenjiang District, requesting them to stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and to return practitioners' withheld salaries and confiscated property. Instead of considering this request, the factory leaders aggravated the persecution.
The salaries and benefits of Mr. Kan Zongquan, Ms. Tang Shifeng, Ms. Huang Yingbi, Ms. Wang Meizhen, Mr. He Yongfu, Mr. Yang Jianzhong, Mr. He Guozhang and Ms. Liu Changqiong have been withheld. The factory also has not returned their property, which was taken away before.
Ms. Liu Changqiong was illegally sentenced to three and a half years in prison and is still detained. Mr. Wang Yifan has been homeless for more than four years as a result of the persecution. He was fired from work, and his wife was forced to divorce him.
38. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Fengsen Arrested
Mr. Wang Fengsen, in his 60s, lives in Hanshiqiao Village, Yangzhen Area, Shunyi, Beijing. On April 12, 2012, agents from the Shunyi Domestic Security Division, the 610 Office and the Hanshiqiao Domestic Security Division, broke into his home and arrested him. They also confiscated Falun Gong books and materials, a satellite dish and other personal property.
39. [Nanjing, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yang Xingfu Detained
Mr. Yang Xingfu from the Nanjing Army Division was arrested by officers from the Houzaimen Police Station and the Nanjing 610 Office and taken to the Nanjing Detention Center on April 20, 2012.
