(Minghui.org) Ms. Huang Ruyin is a Falun Gong practitioner. She graduated 22 years ago from a Canadian university with a degree in Education, before proceeding to obtain her Master's degree. She is currently working in a public school as a teacher. By basing her teaching methods on the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," she became an exemplary teacher in the eyes of her pupils. Besides excelling in student education, her efforts to clarify the truth have touched many people, including her principal. One day in February 2012, Ms. Huang was asked by the principal to come to her office.
The Falun Gong Truth Clarification Flyer on the Principal’s Desk
Ms. Huang said, “The principal invited me to sit and closed the door. I noticed a Falun Gong truth clarification flyer on her desk before she said, 'Ms. Huang, there is something I wish to clarify with you, as this has been bothering me for a while.'”
The principal held the flyer in her hand. The flyer had been printed in response to breaking news on January 31, 2012 that Canadian Prime Minister Steven Harper was going to pay an official visit to China the following month. Falun Gong practitioners braved the snow and cold to distribute these flyers near Parliament Hill. On one side was a petition to the Harper government to bring up the issue of the persecution of Falun Gong during the talks. On the other side were pictures of three practitioners who had been persecuted.
The flyers that shocked the principal
With tears in her eyes, the principal said, “How can there be such cruelty in this world? I am unable to concentrate on anything else. Please tell me, is this real? Why do they (the CCP) want to kill people for their organs? How can they perform such inhuman acts?! How can this kind of thing still occur in modern times today?”
Huang Ruyin explained the truth to the principal, and said, “Falun Gong is a peaceful cultivation practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The practice started in China in 1992. Since then Falun Gong has spread to over one hundred countries, benefiting hundreds of millions of people worldwide. More and more people came to practice Falun Gong, and on July 1999, former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin launched a brutal persecution of Falun Gong in response to his irrational fear and jealousy over the growing number of practitioners.”
Ms. Huang talked about the various ways the CCP used to persecute Falun Gong, including staging the Tiananmen Self Immolation incident in order to frame Falun Gong, and the murder of practitioners by harvesting their organs for profit. After listening for an hour, the principal said to Ms. Huang, “Thank you. You should return to class. There are students waiting for you after all. I’d like a moment to myself.”
The following day, the principal called Ms. Huang into her office and said, “This morning, I discussed the facts you told me yesterday with my husband. I suddenly realized how great you are. Besides being an outstanding teacher, you have also volunteered your time to this cause. I feel awed and humbled by you, and say this truthfully from my heart. I spend my time every day helping parents and students, but in comparison to the things you do, my accomplishments feel so insignificant.”
Ms. Huang replied, “For over ten years, practitioners around the world have done the same things I do. They continue to work as normal on weekdays, while spending their weekday nights and weekends to raise awareness in an effort to stop the persecution.”
The principal then said, “I truly admire Falun Gong practitioners from the depths of my heart. Of the various people I have met so far in my life, you all are the most deserving of my respect.” She quickly asked, “I am eager to assist in any way possible. How can I help you all?”
Ms. Huang replied, “Please help us spread the truth to the people around you, that Falun Gong is good.”
The principal replied, “Very well. This flyer that you gave me, I will leave it in the most visible place on my table. Many people constantly walk in to find or meet me here. I will tell all those who enter the story of Falun Gong.”
Ms. Huang said that a week later the flyer was still on the principal's desk, “When I went to look for the principal to seek her advice on a matter, I was incredibly moved to see that flyer still prominently displayed on her desk.”
Ms. Huang gave the principal a paper lotus flower, from which dangled a tag with the words “Falun Dafa is good!” Ms. Huang explained that the lotus represents Falun Gong practitioners who were able to “emerge from the filth without being stained.” The principal happily said, “I’m extremely grateful!” and placed the lotus together with the flyer.
The principal even learned the five sets of exercises from Ms. Huang.
Initially Entering Cultivation in Hopes of Eliminating Illness
Huang Ruyin had begun cultivation because of her illnesses and poor health. In the past, she suffered from severe rheumatism, which caused frequent bouts of intolerable joint pain. Ms. Huang consulted numerous doctors for a cure without success. One day in June 1998, she happened to notice some people meditating in the park and took a flyer. She began practicing soon after.
After three days of practicing the exercises, Ms. Huang’s joints were no longer painful and all signs of her illness had vanished. “I no longer needed to take medication. My whole family was amazed. My parents attended the nine-day class, and later my husband, mother, aunt, and younger sister also began to practice.”
“Before cultivation, I judged people based on their educational background and seriously pursued fame and fortune. As Dafa practitioners, we do not desire the pursuits of ordinary people. I used to do a lot of things to show off my abilities to others, including the principal and parents, competing constantly with the other teachers. But after obtaining the Fa, my focus changed to saving the lives of these children.” After the peaceful appeal on April 25, 1999, some people believed the lies about Falun Gong fabricated by the Communist Party's media, and some even gave up cultivation. Ms. Huang felt that this was such a pity.
She said, “If I heard others gossiping about 'Falun Gong’s Master amassing great wealth' or 'Falun Gong’s siege of Zhongnanhai', among other lies, I would tell them the story of how I was cured of my illness within a few days of cultivating. Moreover, the only money I spent was the few dollars it took to buy the book. My Master, Mr. Li Hongzhi, never demanded a penny from me. Our Master also did not demand payment from us when my family members started learning the practice later. Our Master wants us to cultivate into selfless individuals. From a selfish person, I changed into a considerate one. Since I began practicing Falun Gong, my body and mind have elevated greatly. My own personal experience gives me the confidence to say that my Master has been wronged. As a practitioner, I have a duty to clarify the truth to others and to validate my Master’s innocence. In this way, I started clarifying the truth to government and non-governmental bodies overseas.”
“As for the 'Siege of Zhongnanhai', the story fabricated is ridiculous to the extreme. During the peaceful protest, practitioners had just followed police instructions to line up, an act which would later be vilified as a 'siege'. As a Falun Gong practitioner, if I had been in China at that time, I would have joined in to petition as well.”
Wishing to Help More People Obtain this Precious Dafa
Besides doing her best at work, Ms. Huang Ruyin also spends her free time spreading the truth behind the persecution of Falun Gong. For more than a decade, she has participated in many truth clarification activities, both big and small, and helps maintain the group Fa study in her area. In order to clarify the truth, she generously spends her own wages, preferring to lead a frugal personal life.
Her passion has not ebbed over these 12 years. When asked what keeps her going, she said, "I think I am very lucky. In this vast world, I was able to obtain the Fa of the universe and it is my hope that more people can obtain this precious Dafa. Unfortunately in a world blinded by the Chinese Communist Party's lies, many do not know the truth. I will stand up, like the hundreds of thousands of practitioners all around the world, and clarify the truth to sentient beings.
