Additional Persecution News from China – May 23, 2012 (26 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 20 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Changde, Hunan] Ms. Gong Junjun Will Be Illegally Tried in Court

On the morning of May 23, personnel from Changde City Court informed Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gong Junjun that she would be tried in the Second Court of Tianjin. On the morning of May 24 they tried Ms. Gong Dexiu and held a court trial for Mr. Zhou Zeyu on the afternoon of May 24.

2. [Qinyang, Henan] Ms. Yang Yuling Sent to Qinyang Detention Center

On February 20 Officers from Qinyang 610 Office, Domestic Security Division and Chongyi Police Station broke into elderly Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Yuling's home. They took away Ms. Yang's computer, several thousand yuan in cash and arrested her. Ms. Yang was detained at the Qinyang Detention Center for three months and thus far she has not been released.

3. [Dalian, Liaoning] Ms. Liu Junlu Still Detained at the Liaoning Women's Prison.

4. [Jimo, Shandong] Mr. Li Yansheng Arrested

Mr. Li Yansheng is in his sixties. On March 31 he was arrested by the officers from the Tongji Police Station and is still detained.

5. [Shenyang, Liaoning] Ms. Pei Hua Arrested; Now Returned Home

On May 21, Ms. Pei Hua and another elderly practitioner were arrested by the personnel from Xinle Police Station and Huanggu District Domestic Security Division when they were clarifying the truth. They returned home at 2 a.m.

6. [Beijing] Elderly Practitioner Arrested and His Home Ransacked

At midnight on May 17, a 70-year-old practitioner from Chaoyang District was arrested by township police from Taiyanggong Police Station while he distributed truth-clarification materials. That day, in the morning, three policemen went to his home and took away four copies of Zhuan Falun, Minghui Journal, truth-clarification CDs, Master's Fa teaching CDs and a cell phone. When the police took the practitioner to the Chaoyang District Detention Center, after being given a physical examination, officials refused to accept him. He was detained at Taiyanggong Police Station for one night and then released on May 18.

On the morning of May 21, Ms. Zhou Shuqing was arrested by officers from the Minhanglu Police Station. They took away her computer, printer and other personal items. She was detained at Minhanglu Police Station.

8. [Zhengzhou, Henan Province] Ms. Xing Aixiang Still Detained at Zhengzhou City No. 1 Detention Center

It has been six months since Ms. Xing Aixiang was detained at Zhengzhou City No. 1 Detention Center on December 7, 2011. Her family went to the detention center to ask for her release many times, but they were never allowed to see Ms. Xing.

9. [Qitaihe, Heilongjiang] Police Forcibly Ordered Ms. Wang Xuejie to Remove Satellite Dish

Seven or eight people suddenly broke into Ms. Wang Xuejie's home in the Taonan Area. They ordered her to remove her satellite dish.

10. [Dunhua, Jilin] Mr. Wang Yongqiang Arrested to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City

While Mr. Wang Yongqiang was detained at the Forestry Bureau Detention Center in Dunhua City, he went on hunger-strike for over one month. On May 11 he was transferred to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

11. [Zhaoyuan, Shandong] Ms. Zhang Shuxiang Arrested at the Supermarket by Plainclothes Agents on the Morning of May 22.

12. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Meng Jinru and Mr. Liu Dongpo Arrested

Ms. Meng Jinru (in her forties) and Mr. Liu Dongpo (in his sixties) from Liuzhuo Township were arrested by personnel from Dingxing County Domestic Security Division, Township Police Station and the 610 Office.

13. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhu Zhenzhi Arrested by Domestic Security Division

On the morning of May 22, Ms. Zhu Zhenzhi was arrested by the Taihe County Domestic Security Division when she was distributing Shen Yun CDs and truth-clarification materials in Rui Town, Taihe County. Around 11 a.m. that day, the police broke into her house to ransack it and took away many copies of Dafa books and truth-clarification materials.

15. [Gaobeidian, Hebei Province] Mr. Hu Jundong Arrested by 610 Office Police, Now Returned Home

On the afternoon of March 31, Mr. Hu Jundong was arrested by four plainclothes police officers. They took him to Gaobeidian Police Department and then over one dozen policemen took Mr. Hu to his home and ransacked it. After returning to Gaobeidian Police Department, Mr. Hu appeared to be sick. His low blood pressure was 140 and high blood pressure was 260 and his condition is dangerous. He was released that night and returned home.

16. [Pulandian, Liaoning] Ms. Duan Liqing and Ms. Zhang Shuzhen Arrested

On May 20, Ms. Duan Liqing was arrested by police from the Jiushou Police Station. Ms. Zhang Shuzhen was also arrested. She was supposed to return home on May 15, however, the police took her to a brainwashing center for further persecution.

17. [Hailin, Heilongjiang] Mr. Chen Gongqiu Arrested on the afternoon of May 22, Mr. Chen Gongqiu was arrested at home by police from the Domestic Security Division. Mr. Chen’s wife was forced to leave home to avoid being persecuted.

18. [Qingdao, Shandong] Mr. Wang Benliang Arrested

Mr. Wang Benliang was arrested by the police from Jiushuilu Police Station in Licang District on the morning of May 22.

19. [Datong, Shanxi] Ms. He Zhenlan Illegally Detained

Ms. He Zhenlan was arrested and detained by police in Taiyuan City when she clarified the truth in Taiyuan Mall.

20. [Qiqihar, Heilongjiang] Ms. Wang Mei Arrested

On the morning of May 22, Ms. Wang Mei, who lives in Longsha Community, Qiqihar City, was arrested by police from the Longhualu Police Station.

21. [Qinhuangdao, Hebei] Ms. Zu Yurong and Ms. Lin Cuiying Harassed by the Police

On the afternoon of May 3, four policemen broke into Ms. Zu Yurong’s home. Ms. Zu and her sister Ms. Zu Yuzhen were studying the Fa. After they ransacked her home, the head of the police station brought four or five policemen to Ms. Zu’s home. They took away Dafa books and a picture of Master Li and were about to arrest them. Ms. Zu Yurong resolutely refused to cooperate with them. They finally gave up, arrested Ms. Zu Yuzhen instead and went her home to ransack it. They released Ms. Zu Yuzhen at midnight.

22. [Pingdu, Shandong] Persecution of Mr. Wang Guangwei

Mr. Wang Guangwei from Qianwangjia Village, Landi Town was arrested by policeman Liu Naiqiang and six or seven other police from Landi Police Station on March 15. He has been detained at the Pingdu Detention Center. Hou Jiarui, the deputy head of the Pingdu Police Department plotted to sentence Mr. Wang. The procuratorate will hear his case on May 10.

Hou Jiarui arrested teacher Ms. Ma Qin from Development Zone Experimental School, Ms. Ma later escaped.

On the eve of the CCP’s Olympics in 2008, Hou Jiarui ordered the arrest of ten practitioners. Most of them were given heavy prison sentences. Ms. Xiao Sumin and Mr. Zhong Zhenfu were tortured to death.

In 2009 Hou Jiarui, along with 610 Office personnel, arrested Mr. Wang Jingxian, Ms. Zhang Shuhua and Ms. Wang Yuzhen. These three practitioners were given heavy prison sentences.

23. [Raoping County, Guangdong] Ms. Zhang Chujun and Ms. Li Huiqing Sentenced to Forced Labor

On March 4, Ms. Zhang Chujun and Ms. Li Huiqing were arrested by officers from the Gaotang Town Police Station when they were clarifying the truth to the villagers in Xilin Village, Gaotang Town. They were transferred to Chaozhou City Detention Center. They were detained for 15 days and 7 days respectively. On the seventh day when Ms. Li’s children went to the detention center to get her back, they were informed that their mom was sentenced to one year or one and half a years of forced labor. She has now been transferred to Shanshui Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province.

24. [Harbin, Heilongjiang] Ms. Meng Hong Detained at Baojianlu Police Station

On May 22, Ms. Meng Hong was arrested when she was distributing truth-clarification materials in Harbin and then the police took away the truth-clarification materials at her home. Now she is detained at the Baojianlu Police Station.

Mr. Luo Wei from the Huayu High-Tech School was arrested at noon on May 21. She is currently detained at the No. 3 Detention Center.
