(Minghui.org) Ms. Mei Bilin and Ms. Zhang Xiaodan, Falun Gong practitioners from Kunming City, Yunnan Province, were arrested recently. The following is a short history of their persecution.
Ms. Mei Bilin Detained Despite Suffering Brain Obstruction
On May 17, 2012, at around noon, Ms. Mei Bilin, a retired worker from the Yunnan Province Forestry Technical College, and her husband Mr. Zhou Mofang, were arrested by police from the Panlong Police Station. Their home was ransacked.
She was diagnosed with high blood pressure at Tongren Hospital. Despite this diagnosis she was taken to the Panlong District First Detention Center.
Between May 18 and May 23, Ms. Mei Bilin's blood pressure was measured twice daily. Her high blood pressure remained at 185. Even the prison doctor said repeatedly, “Her blood pressure is too high!”
On the morning of May 24, Ms. Mei Bilin passed out. She no longer could move her lower extremities and she felt very dizzy.
On May 25, Ms. Mei was taken to Tongren Hospital where she was diagnosed with having high blood pressure, a brain obstruction, along with internal bleeding.
On the afternoon of May 26, Panlong State Security notified Ms. Mei Bilin's family to take her home. Her husband and daughter waited for a long time in front of the prison, but did not see her. Then, prison guards advised that she couldn't walk and needed assistance. Three prison inmates finally carried her out. Her husband and daughter took her home.
Mr. Zhang Xiaodan from Kunming City Tortured
At about 5:00 a.m. on May 4, 2012, a group of police officers broke into Mr. Su Kun's home and arrested Mr. Su and his wife, Ms. Zhang Xiaodan. Mr. Su, 40, a computer teacher at the Yunnan Province Defense Institute of Technology, is still being held in the Panlong District Second Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Xiaodan is being held in prison cell number 403 at the Panlong District First Detention Center. Upon arriving at the prison, she was stripped to check for skin diseases. She refused to wear the prison uniform or recite the prison regulations, which angered the chief of the inmates. That person slapped her so hard that her face became swollen.
Another practitioner, Fu Guolan, is also detained at Panlong District First Detention Center.
