(Minghui.org) Since late May 2012, Wucheng County police in Shandong Province have frequently harassed and arrested Falun Gong practitioners. This effort was led by Zhou Tianlu, head of the Wucheng County Domestic Security Division, and many officers from the township-level and town-level police stations also participated in the persecution.
Around 6:00 a.m. on May 25, officers from the Luquantun Town Police Station broke into Ms. Ji Lanfeng’s home in Yanzhuang Village and arrested her. They ransacked her home and confiscated many of her personal belongings. Her husband, Mr. Fang Dezeng, went to the police station around 6:00 p.m. and demanded the release of his wife. However, the police forcibly took him into custody. The couple is currently incarcerated in the Wucheng County Detention Center. Because they have remained steadfast and would not give up their belief in Falun Gong, the couple has been arrested and tortured many times. Ms. Ji was subjected to one year in the Shandong Province First Women’s Forced Labor Camp in 2008. The guards severely tortured her and caused her to develop symptoms of lymphatic cancer. In order to shirk their responsibility for her possible death, the guards released her. After she returned home, Ms. Ji diligently practiced the exercises and soon recovered completely. The persecution also caused the couple severe economic losses. Because they were detained, they were unable to finish a work order that was received recently, causing them up to 10,000 yuan in direct losses.
The police also broke into another practitioner’s home in Maliang Village the same day. The practitioner’s name is Mr. Ma. Because he was not at home, they were not able to take him into custody, but the police ransacked his home.
On the afternoon of May 28, the police broke into Ms. Dong Fenghong’s home in Jiamaying Township and ransacked it. After finding Falun Gong materials at her home, the police arrested her and her husband, Mr. Bai Zixiu, and took them to the Wucheng County Detention Center. Prior to this, the couple was once subjected to incarceration and had tens of thousands of yuan extorted from them. Unable to withstand the extreme pressure from the regime's authorities, they stopped practicing cultivation. Afterwards, they were in a traffic accident, causing one to be disabled and the other to be mostly immobilized. They began to practice Falun Gong again and miraculously recovered. However, the police later took them into custody again.
Ms. Wang Haiyan from Liuhe Village, Laocheng Town, was arrested at her home the same day. It was said that the police wanted to extort money from her and threatened to detain her for 14 days.
On May 29, the police arrested Ms. Liu Xiufeng from Haowangzhuang Town, Ms. Sun Aixi, and her neighbor from Wucheng County.
On the evening of May 30, Wucheng County police arrested Ms. Liu Yuping, Ms. Sun Xiuzhen, and Ms. Ji Guiying from Gucheng County, Hebei Province, who come to Luquantun Town, Wucheng County, to post truth-clarifying materials. The three practitioners were taken to the Wucheng County Detention Center. The following day Zhou Tianlu and a number of police officers went to their homes in Hebei Province and ransacked them.

Zhou Tianlu is from Jiazhuang Village, Wucheng Town, Wucheng County. His wife, Wang Rongxi, works in the emergency department of Dezhou City People's Hospital. Since Zhou was designated the head of Wucheng County Domestic Security Division, he has actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. He had often arrested practitioners and then extorted money from their families and relatives. He frequently calls practitioners’ relatives and demands that they give him money.
In addition, Zhou has often coerced practitioners’ families into offering him meals and money by promising that he will do something to help the practitioners. However, after he ate the lavish meals and got the money, he sent the practitioners to forced labor camps anyways. Some practitioners became homeless in order to avoid further persecution, but Zhou still harassed their families and employers. Practitioners called him to clarify the facts about Falun Gong, but he has refused to change his ways.
