(Minghui.org) I am a practitioner of Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) who started to practice in 2008. Just prior to beginning my cultivation practice, I was unemployed and suffered from many diseases which caused me to be pale, underweight, and fatigued. One day, I met a Falun Dafa practitioner who asked me, “You are not feeling well. Do you want to try a Qigong practice?” I asked him what school of Qigong he was talking about. He hesitated for a second and said, “Falun Gong.” I replied without a second thought, “That's fine. I just want to know what kind of Qigong practice it is and why the government is so afraid of it. No one has ever told me anything about it.” We then had a long conversation. I was shocked when I heard the truth about Falun Dafa. He talked about how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners, how the CCP defamed Teacher Li and Dafa, as well as his own experience of having been imprisoned for three and a half years.
The practitioner also talked about the staged self-immolation incident at Tiananmen Square. I said, “Yes, my husband told me that the news was false when he watched it on TV the first time. He said it had happened on the previous week, so it was not news, but an old story.” My husband had been working as a staff officer in a major military command headquarter. He was quick-witted and had a keen eye for detail, so I believed what he said. I thought for awhile and asked the practitioner, “I want to practice cultivation. Do you have the book? Can you teach me how to practice?” He said, “Yes, I have the book. I can teach you.” He told me seriously, “You have a predestined relationship with Dafa. Teacher spread this Dafa to save sentient beings. It is an opportunity that does not come along in one thousand years or even ten thousand years. You will be fine if you can practice well.” I accepted the book Zhuan Falun and started reading it, though I only half understood what he said at the time.
I was shaken and drawn by the compassionate words in the book. Teacher Li states that on the surface, Zhuan Falun does not seem to be elegant in its language. However, it talks about many unexplainable phenomena and truths about heaven, earth, humans and gods. All these profound theories could not be explained at all by modern science. As I read more in depth into the book, interference appeared. Someone at work questioned me about what kind of book I was reading, and did not allow me to read it because it was not related to my work. I was very angry and said rudely, “Who do you think you are? Do I need to let you know what books I read?” She said, “The book you are reading is one forbidden by the government.” I was very stubborn and fought back, “I am telling you that what I am reading is the Falun Dafa book. What is wrong with that? I've read every word in it from the first to the last, but have never found a single word that was against the CCP or our nation. Instead, the book talks about the concepts of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It points the way for human beings and teaches people how to follow the principles and do good deeds. If everyone would follow what's required in the book, how wonderful the world would become! I am determined to read it and practice it. You are not qualified to manage me. Just go ahead and do whatever you want.”
During the first several days of studying the Fa, I experienced opposition from all directions and finally was determined in cultivation. I became healthy. I knew Teacher was taking care of me. Since then, my character has changed. I am not irritable anymore. I learned to tolerate people and treat others kindly. I followed Teacher's Fa, regarded myself as a practitioner and had high standards for myself. Our family became harmonious. With Teacher protecting me all the time, good things come to me constantly and trouble is easily resolved even if it does arise. I feel so lucky to have learned about Falun Dafa and to have become a person walking on the divine path!
My husband and daughter quit the CCP, Youth League and Young Pioneers soon after I started practicing Falun Dafa. They were both very supportive. My husband told every acquaintance, “She became healthy after practicing Falun Gong. Falun Gong is very miraculous.” My husband usually lies beside me whenever I am sitting in meditation on the bed. If I practiced in another room, he would call me to come and practice beside him. He said, “I will not disturb you.” He feels well when I practice the exercises.
Teacher said,
“When Falun rotates clockwise, it can automatically absorb energy from the universe. Rotating counter-clockwise, it can give off energy. Inward (clockwise) rotation offers self-salvation while outward (counter-clockwise) rotation offers salvation to others-this is a feature of our practice.” (from Lecture 5, Zhuan Falun)
Every word Teacher told us is true. My practice also benefits my husband. Although he does not practice Falun Dafa, both my daughter and I have witnessed changes in my husband. Over the past two years the arthritis in his hands has improved. He noticed this as well. I am very happy and told fellow practitioners about it. Now, my daughter also studies Falun Dafa and practices the exercises.
I became a totally different person after I started practicing Falun Dafa. I am bathed in Teacher's infinite grace and have benefited a great deal from Dafa. My only wish is to spread this precious Dafa to the people of the world. I have introduced Falun Dafa successfully to a dozen people. Six of them are now very diligent in cultivation. Those who had many diseases became healthy. They appreciate Teacher's grace from the bottom of their hearts and are grateful for the good influence upon their families. Four family members have also started practicing. We set up a Fa study group.
I am always thinking about how wonderful it would be if more people came to learn Falun Dafa. Even if they do not practice, they will know how to be a good person. How great it would be if everyone would discipline himself, follow the principles of Dafa and love each other. In this way, we could regain our lost civilization, virtue and 5000 years of divine culture. The falseness, evilness and violence will vanish from our nation. I believe that only Falun Dafa can restore the virtue of human beings.
No words can express my gratitude as I talk about the wonder of Dafa and Teacher's infinite grace. I am a new practitioner and do not think that I have a deep understanding of Dafa yet. Please compassionately correct anything you may find to be inappropriate.
