Ms. Zheng Hongqin, who is 58 years old, is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Yushu City, Jilin Province. Before she started practicing Falun Gong, she had many illnesses such as cerebral thrombosis. However, she regained her health after she began to practice. On October 1, 2011, in order to rescue practitioners held at the local detention center, she went to Enyu Township to put up posters. She was reported by Wang, the person in charge of the local security office, and ended up being arrested by police officers from Enyu Police Station and the Yushu Domestic Security Department. After that, she was detained at the Yushu Detention Center for more than seven months. During that period, none of her family members or friends were allowed to see her. Only on the evening of April 27, the night before the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) officials brought her to trial, did they notify Ms. Zheng's family members, and they were told that only one family member was allowed to attend the court trial.
At 1 p.m., on April 28, the Yushu Court was heavily guarded and surrounded by armed police officers, and there was even a machine gun set up on the roof of the courthouse. Ms. Zheng, who was very weak, was carried into the court by four police officers. She had been tortured, was emaciated, and lacked the strength to speak. She could only answer questions by nodding or shaking her head. When the trial was wrapped up, there was no verdict announced. Then she was carried out by four police officers. The person who handled her case was Judge Shen Jiachao.
Ms. Zheng's life is in danger, yet she is still being subjected to severe persecution.
