Additional Persecution News from China – June 1, 2012 (Part I) (4 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in four cities or counties in three provinces. In this report, six Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least two practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Chongqing] Mr. Chen Changying Arrested

Mr. Chen Changying from Yubei District was recently arrested while he was away from home. His whereabouts are unknown. Mr. Chen was sent to a forced labor camp in 2005 for three years, where he suffered from tremendously cruel forms of torture.

2. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Jun and His Wife Ms. Zhu Liru Sent to Forced Labor Camps

Officers from the Wukeshu Police Station and agents including Li Shucai from the Yushu Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Zhang Jun and his wife Ms. Zhu Liru at their home on April 30, 2012. The couple was taken to a detention center and held there for 15 days. On the morning of May 14, 2012, Ms. Zhu was sent to the Changchun Women's Forced Labor Camp, while Mr. Zhang was sent to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp of Changchun, both for a term of one year.

3. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Additional Information about the Persecution of Mr. Zhao Shengbao and Other Practitioners

Officers from the Mengyin County Police Department and the Jiuzhai Township Police Station, and agents from the Jiuzhai Township Government and the 610 Office arrested Mr. Zhao Shengbao and his wife Ms. Ying Ruifang at their home in Dongpengwu Village, Jiuzhai Township on May 22, 2012. They also confiscated the couple's Falun Gong exercises instruction tape, informational materials about Falun Gong including DVDs, Falun Gong books and other items. Mr. Zhao was taken to the Mengyin County Detention Center while his wife Ms. Ying was first taken to the County Detention Center and then to the Mengyin County Brainwashing Center. Ms. Ying Ruifang was released on the afternoon of May 30, 2012 after the Mengyin County 610 Office extorted her of 3,000 yuan.

Ms. Yang Meiling, about 40 years old, is from Yangjiazhuang Village, Taoxu Town, Mengyin County. She was turned in and arrested by officers from the Jiepai Town Police Station of Mengyin County for painting facts about Falun Gong around Zhujiadianzi Village, Jiepai Town on May 15, 2012. She is being held in the Brainwashing Center of Mengyin County 610 Office.

Ms. Gong Yan from Dongguan Village, Mengyin Town was arrested by agents from the 610 Office on May 22, 2012. Informational materials about Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, a computer and other items were confiscated from her home. Ms. Gong was released the same afternoon.

4. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zou Xuemei Persecuted

Ms. Zou Xuemei from Mazhang Town, Zhanjiang City is 63 years old. He Weijie and others from the Mazhang District 610 Office barged into Ms. Zou's home on the afternoon of April 24, 2012 and took her to the Intensive Brainwashing Center in Zhanjiang City.

Ms. Zou started a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and as a result, she was subjected to forced-feeding of food and medicine through a tube. In just 15 days, Ms. Zou became all skin and bones. Her lower left leg suffered from severe convulsions which hurt so much that she dared not even walk. Ms. Zou has been released.
