(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 35 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In the report, 28 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 40 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Du, in his seventies, from Tumen City was arrested at home by officers from the Tumen City Police Department on the afternoon of May 9, 2012. Personal items including cash were confiscated from his home and filled up a car. That same afternoon Ms. Zhai Chunmei from Tumen, whose legs are disabled, and her son, whose legs are also disabled and is in second grade at a primary school, were also arrested by officers from the Tumen City Police Department. The officers ransacked Ms. Zhai's home and turned it into a terrible mess.

3. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Ms. Wu Guilan Held for Over One Month

Ms. Wu Guilan from Congyang County, Anqing City, about 60 years old, was arrested a month ago for producing informational materials about Falun Gong.

4. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Dr. Zhang Yuhua Injected with Unidentified Drugs

Dr. Zhang Yuhua, previous director of the Russian Language Department at Nanjing Normal University, was arrested in mid-November 2011, and was later sent to a forced labor camp. It was recently found that she was injected with unidentified drugs and while she remained in an unstable state, was taken to the Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp.

5. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Lu Xiuling and Ms. Qi Guiqin Arrested

Ms. Lu Xiuling and Ms. Qi Guiqin from Xian City, both 76 years old, were reported for explaining the facts about Falun Gong at Daminggong Square in Xian on May 7, 2012. Agents from the local police station, the Neighborhood Administration Office, and the security divisions of their previous workplaces ransacked their homes that same day and took them to the Xian Brainwashing Center.

6. [Liaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jingchun Held at the Nanguanling Prison in Dalian

Ms. Wang Jingchun from Liaoyang County is still being held in the Sixth Ward of the Nanguanling Prison of Dalian. Her family went to the prison recently and requested to visit her. The request was denied. Ms. Wang was arrested on December 28, 2003 and later sentenced to ten years in prison.

7. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Shujuan Arrested

Ms. Xu Shujuan from Sanmenliangtun, Liangzhong Village, Ningyuan Town, Bin County was arrested as she was walking out of her home. She was taken to the town police department, and in the afternoon was transferred to the County Detention Center.

8. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Hai and Others Beaten in Detention

Cui Shijun, the head of the Second Ward of the Daqing Prison, got drunk and suddenly came to the Fourth Section of the Second Ward on the afternoon of May 7, 2012. He beat Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Hai, Mr. Zhang Kuiwu, Mr. Wang Jiang, and Mr. Dai Qihong, with no cause and also directed inmates to do the same. However, the inmates did not follow the order.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cui Shuwen and Ms. Song Tianmin Arrested

Ms. Cui Shuwen and Ms. Song Tianmin were arrested by officers from the Chongqinglu Police Station on the afternoon of May 8, 2012 for talking about Falun Gong. They are being held in the Weizigou Detention Center.

10. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Xiaoling Extorted for 8,000 Yuan

Ms. Li Xiaoling was reported and arrested by officers from the Nanzhang Police Station for explaining the facts about Falun Gong on March 26, 2012. She was released after her family was extorted for 8,000 yuan.

Ms. Li was previously arrested for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong in 2005. She was sent to the Jinan Forced Labor Camp but was not admitted due to failing the physical examination. The local 610 Office extorted 12,000 yuan from her family.

11. [Xiong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Bo Ying Harassed

Guo Junxue, chief of the Xiong County Police Department Domestic Security Division, along with seven or eight officers, barged into Ms. Bo Ying's home in Liuzhuang, Shuangtang Township and confiscated her Falun Gong books on the morning of May 8, 2012. They tried to carry Ms. Bo out to force her into a car. Ms. Bo resisted and they failed their attempt.

12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qi Aigui Missing

Ms. Qi Aigui, 49, from Harbin City, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong 12 years ago, on the afternoon of June 8, 2000, and has been missing ever since. Her family have been searching for her everywhere without any success.

14. [Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Shenghua on Hunger Strike Protesting Persecution

Mr. Wang Shenghua started a hunger strike in late April, 2012, to protest the persecution at the No. 2 Forced Labor Camp of Shandong. It was learned that he has become very weak. The guards are giving him intravenous feedings.

15. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Tang Junduo and Ms. Liu Yuzhi Arrested

Ms. Tang Junduo and Ms. Liu Yuzhi from Liangyu Village, Yaozhuang Township, Mancheng County, Baoding City were reported and arrested by officers from the Yaozhuang Township Police Station for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong on the evening of May 6, 2012. After being held in the police station for a day, they were taken to the Mancheng County Detention Center, and have been held there since.

16. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Chuanyan Sent to Jinan Forced Labor Camp for One-Year Term

18. [Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Tao Yafen Arrested

Ms. Tao Yafen, 58, from Xilinhot, was arrested at home on May 6, 2012. Her computer and Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Tao was then taken to the Xilinhot Detention Center.

19. [Rushan, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Jinping Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Song Jinping from Rushan was arrested by officers from the Rushan Domestic Security Division on April 12, 2012 for talking about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked and her computer and other items were confiscated. Ms. Song was recently sent to the Shandong Provincial Women's Forced Labor Camp to serve a two-year term.

Ms. Song Jinping, 47, is an employee of the Fuhao Group Company of Rushan. She was persecuted multiple times, and was taken to a detention center by officers from the Rushan Domestic Security Division in June 2006 and April 2008.

20. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zeng Hongyuan Arrested

Mr. Zeng Hongyuan from Hongjiang District, Huaihua City was arrested at his workplace, a textile mill, by agents from the District 610 Office and officers including Shen Li from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 9, 2012. His home was ransacked the next morning.

Mr. Zeng's wife, Ms. Liu Jianhua, was persecuted to death earlier.

21. [Weihui City, Henan Province] Ms. Jiang Zhane and Ms. Cao Sumei Arrested

Ms. Jiang Zhane was arrested by plainclothes officers for explaining facts about Falun Gong to people on May 8, 2012. Ms. Cao Sumei was arrested at the same time. Five or six plainclothes officers dragged Ms. Jiang and Ms. Cao, both elderly, to the Mashijie Police Station in Weihui.

22. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Yun Manages to Escape after Being Taken to a Local Police Station on May 4, 2012

23. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Hu Yunpeng Held for Extended Term

Mr. Hu Yunpeng was arrested on May 10, 2012 and sent to the Fenjin Forced Labor Camp of Changchun in Jilin Province for a one-year term. His family went to pick him up on May 10, 2012 when his term expired, but the forced labor camp authorities did not release him. They extended his term for another 15 days. Mr. Hu has become ill from persecution in the labor camp.

24. [Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xiu Shujun Arrested

Mr. Xiu Shujun was arrested by officers from the Dongdatun Township Police Station for hanging up banners about Falun Gong in Baizigou, Dongdatun Township on May 9, 2012. He was then sent to the Ershijiazi Town Police Station. Officers from the Ershijiazi Town Police Station ransacked Mr. Xiu's home, confiscated a computer and two cars, then sent Mr. Xiu to the Chaoyang County Police Department.

25. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Many Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Songyuan City Police Department arrested Mr. Wang Wei, Ms. Gao Fengqin, Ms. Zou Guixiang, elderly Ms. Bao, Ms. Geng Ruifen, Ms. Liu Dianping, Ms. Zhu Defang, and Ms. Xiaoxiang on April 24, 2012; Ms. Wang Huizhen from Jianshanzi Village, Hongquan Township, Qianguo County on April 28, 2012; and Ms. Huo Fenglan, Ms. Zheng Shuqin, Ms. Sun Minjuan, and Mr. Wang Shouye on May 30, 2012.

During Ms. Zou Guixiang's arrest, the police confiscated a bank deposit book with a balance of 50,000 yuan from her home.

26. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Shulan Arrested

Ms. Wang Shulan from Jintun, Tuoshan Township, Wafangdian City was arrested on May 10, 2012. After undergoing a physical examination in the Wafangdian City Maternity and Infant Care Hospital, she was sent to the Dalian City Detention Center.

27. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Changling Harassed

Sun Xiaoyong, a cadre from Maquan Village, guided Sun Peng, director of the local police station and other officers to go to Mr. Sun Changling's home and harass him on March 12, 2012. Village cadre Sun Jinhe, with Zhang Baozhong, guided officers to surround Mr. Sun's home on April 23, 2012.

28. [Xiushui County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xiong Zhongying Arrested

Ms. Xiong Zhongying, 64, from Xiushi County, is a retired employee of the Erqing Bureau of Xiushui. She was arrested for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong. A few months ago, she was released after being persecuted in detention for three years.

29. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Ma Wenlong Missing

Mr. Ma Wenlong from Gansu, born in 1976, has been harassed many times since the persecution began in 1999. He has not been heard from since he left home one day around November 2001.

30. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Ning You's and Mr. Liu You's Homes Ransacked

Five officers from the Jiaoqu Police Department of Jiamusi and the Sifeng Police Station barged into Mr. Ning You's and Mr. Liu You's homes in Xinfa Village, and confiscated computers, photos of Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi and other items.

31. [Longjing City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhan Qiuzhen Arrested

Ms. Zhan Qiuzhen was arrested by four officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Longjing City Police Department on May 4, 2012. She is being held in the Longjing City Detention Center.

32. [Huaian County, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Hao Cuihua, Ms. Yang Cuiyun, Ms. Zhang Yuelan, Ms. Yue Aisu, Ms. Yue Aiqin, and Ms. Ren were arrested by officers from the Datong City Railway on the morning of April 7, 2012. They were later taken to the Chaigoubao Police Department and released at around 9:00 p.m. the same day. While they were detained, officers ransacked their homes and confiscated three copies of Falun Gong books, some informational materials about Falun Gong, New Year pictures, and calendars. Five practitioners were each extorted for 2,000 yuan.

33. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Xiancui Arrested

Ms. Jiang Xiancui from the Development Zone of Yantai City was arrested at home, and her home was ransacked on May 10, 2012. She is being held in a detention center. Officers watched a group Fa study site and arrested two practitioners on the afternoon of the same day.

34. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Pan Yinjuan and Her Husband Persecuted

Ms. Pan Yinjuan works as a nurse-in-charge at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical College. Over ten agents, headed by Li Xinming from the Hongqi District 610 Office of Xinxiang, arrested her at her workplace. Ms. Pan developed symptoms of a heart attack and is being held at the Emergency Section of her workplace.

35. [Shanghai] Ms. Yuan Hongying Arrested

Ms. Yuan Hongying, about 60 years old, lives at Dongbaoxing Road, Zhongshanbeilu, Hongkou District. She was monitored and photographed while handing out informational materials about Falun Gong, and was subsequently arrested by officers who found her home using her picture. Her home was ransacked and she is being held at the Guangzhonglu Police Station of Hongkou District.

36. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Ms. Ma Deyun Arrested

Six officers from Xishui County barged into Ms. Ma Deyun's home and arrested her on the evening of May 8, 2012. Her home was ransacked and a couple of computers, electronic equipment, and other items were confiscated.
