(Minghui.org) From 2011 up until the time of this report, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, have illegally arrested over 70 Falun Gong practitioners. Among those arrested, many middle-aged and elderly women were unlawfully detained in forced labor camps or sentenced to prison. The youngest practitioner is 40 years old, with the majority being over 50. The oldest practitioner is 70. These peaceful, law-abiding women have sought only to cultivate mind and body by practicing Falun Dafa. They were sent to prison and forced labor for adhering to Falun Dafa’s guiding principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and for helping the Chinese people, who have been deceived by the CCP's slanderous propaganda, understand the facts about Falun Gong. Their family members have also been subjected to persecution.

1. Dean of Wujia Middle School Sentenced to Three and a Half Years In Prison

Ms. Yang Guizhi, 53, was the dean of Wujia Middle School in the Yuanbaoshan District, Chifeng City. She is a righteous and kind person with great virtue and abilities. Because she refused to give up practicing Falun Dafa, Ms. Yang has been persecuted by the CCP. She was removed from her position as Dean and transferred to the Minzu Middle School in Yuanbaoshan District.

On May 12, 2011, in order to rescue practitioner Ms. Ren Suying, who was brutally persecuted after she was arrested in Wudan, Wengniuteqi in Chifeng City, Ms. Yang went to visit Domestic Security Division leader Liu Caijun from the Wengniuteqi Police Department. She clarified the facts about Falun Gong and said that Ms. Ren was innocent and should be released immediately. Liu Caijun and other officers then arrested Ms. Yang.

Ms. Yang was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and incarcerated in the Huhehaote City Women's Prison in Inner Mongolia. Her husband was under such extreme stress because of his wife’s persecution that he had a stroke and had to be hospitalized.

On May 12, 2011, 50-year-old Ms. Ren Suxiang (Ms. Ren Suying's elder sister) and Ms. Yang Guihua (Ms. Yang Guizhi's younger sister) were also arrested. They were both sent to the Huhehaote City Women's Forced Labor Camp. As of this date they are still incarcerated and suffering persecution.

2. Ms. Ren Suying Tortured during Interrogation and Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Ms. Ren Suying, 47, is from Jianchangying in the Yuanbaoshan District, Chifeng City. Early in the morning on April 19, 2011, she was suddenly knocked down on Xinhua Street, Wudan Town, Wengniuteqi, by two policemen. Domestic Security Division leader Liu Caijun took off her shoes and slapped her face brutally. Then the officers took Ms. Ren to the Wudan Police Department in Wengniuteqi for interrogation, where they tried to force her to reveal information about other practitioners.

When she refused to talk, a number of officers directed by Liu Caijun brutally beat her and shocked her with electric batons. Her fingernails were stabbed with bamboo sticks and she was shackled to an iron chair for seven days. She lost consciousness many times during the ongoing interrogation. The continual beating and handcuffing caused her right shoulder to become necrotic and her injured left leg hasn't recovered yet. Liu Caijun also punched Ms. Ren in the head and neck, kicked her, and used a water bottle to beat her, causing many injuries.

On November 1, 2011 the Wengniuteqi Court in Chifeng City put Ms. Ren Suying on trial. Her attorney from Beijing entered a plea of innocence for her, but on February 7, 2012, the court unlawfully sentenced Ms. Ren Suying to five years in prison. She is being held in the Wudan Detention Center and is appealing her sentence.

3. Teacher Ms. Wu Guohui Arrested and Sentenced

Retired elementary school teacher Ms. Wu Guohui from Balinzuoqi, Chifeng City, was arrested on June 5, 2011 while on her way to the grocery store. She was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.

The Balinzuoqi Procuratorate used evidence fabricated by the Balinzuoqi Police Department to charge Ms. Wu. On September 14, 2011, the Balinzuoqi Court tried Ms. Wu. Her attorney from Beijing entered a not-guilty plea for her.

In order to deflect public scrutiny from the blatant persecution of innocent citizens, the authorities orchestrated nearly 60 people from the special police, local police, Domestic Security police,610 Office, court police, and plainclothes officers to create a chaos inside and outside of the courtroom to blame the Falun Gong practitioners. The court officials did not announce the sentence at the trial and instead transferred her case to the Chifeng City Court. On October 25, the Balinzuoqi Court completely disregarded the law and the attorney's defense and sentenced Ms. Wu Guohui three and a half years in prison. She was sent to the Huhehaote City Women's Prison.

In the Huhehaote City Women's Prison, Ms. Wu refused to give up Falun Dafa. She was brutally tortured with electric batons. Liu Gang and others pulled her hair and beat and kicked her, causing her to exhibit severe symptoms of heart disease and anemia. Later she was sent to the First Prison Hospital of the Inner Mongolia Prison Administration Bureau, where she was subjected to further persecution. She eventually developed symptoms of uterine cancer. The prison hospital sent a notice that she was seriously ill to the Huhehaote City Women's Prison. Ms. Wu Guohui's family made a request for her release and the prison planned to have a meeting to discuss her case. But the Procuratorate officials based in the prison stopped the meeting and would not release Ms. Gu because she had refused to be “transformed.”

4. Farmer Meng Xiangzhi Sentenced to Seven Years In Prison

Ms. Meng Xiangzhi, 53, from Longhtousan Village in the Yuanbaoshan District was arrested on August 3, 2011, by officers from the Jianchangying Village Police Station. During her trial, Ms. Meng acknowledged that she had printed all of the truth-clarifying materials confiscated by the police. She also acknowledged that she'd written all of the truth-clarifying posters seen on the electric poles and walls in nearby villages. The CCP unlawfully sentenced her to seven years in prison.

Currently Meng Xiangzhi is imprisoned in the Huhehaote Women's Prison in Inner Mongolia, where she is suffering from brutal persecution.

5. Ms. Li Ronglan Arrested Again and Sentenced Two Years Forced Labor

Ms. Li Ronglan, 50, is from Wengniuteqi, Chifeng City. On October 10, 2011, she was arrested and taken from her rental place in Chifeng City by police officers from Wengniuteqi. They immediately sentenced her to two years of forced labor at the Huhehaote Women's Forced Labor Camp without notifying her family. Because the police knew that they had persecuted an innocent person, Domestic Security Division leader Liu Caijun from the Wengniuteqi Police Department started to look for false witnesses to substantiate his reason for her arrest.

Ms. Li had been previously arrested in the autumn of 2002 because she continued to practice Falun Gong. She was sent to the First Team of the Huhehaote Women's Forced Labor Camp, where she was imprisoned for two years. In order to “transform” her, the guards handcuffed Ms. Li and hung her by her arms for 45 days and nights. She was hung up from the windows bars and between two bunk beds with her feet barely touching the ground. The guards also beat her frequently with electric batons. They slapped her face and kicked her abdomen until she fainted. They stuffed her mouth with rags and covered her mouth with tape, then incited drug addicted inmates to brutally beat her.

Former director of the Huhehaote Women's Forced Labor Camp Zhang Zhongsu was promoted to chief of the Forced Labor Bureau because of his performance in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. From June to July 2004, the guards forced all detained Falun Gong practitioners to sing a song slandering Dafa written by collaborator Wang Yan. Ms. Li refused to sing and was subjected to physical abuse.

Due to the physical and mental torture, Li Ronglan became so weak that she could hardly stand up. The guards extended her term in the forced labor camp. In the fall of 2004, her term ended, but the labor camp authorities did not release her. Instead, they transferred her to the Tumuji Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zhalateqi, Inner Mongolia. The guards ordered a drug addict who was about to finish her term to beat Ms. Li. They also threatened the drug addict that if she did not beat Ms. Li and forced her to give up practicing Falun Gong, the forced labor camp would not release the drug addict. The drug addict brutally beat her for a whole night. Ms. Li then resorted to a hunger strike to protest the persecution and her term was extended for three more months.

On October 10, 2011, police from Wengniuteqi arrested Ms. Li in Chifeng City. On October 28, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Huhehaote Women's Forced Labor Camp. Her family was not notified notified.

6. Ms. Cong Peilan Held in the Inner Mongolia Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Cong Peilan, in her 50s, is from Xilutian in the Yuanbaoshan District, Chifeng City. On August 22, 2011, officers Liu Shutian and Bai Zhanguo from the Xilutian Police Station arrested Ms. Cong while she was on her way home. She was detained at the Yuanbaoshan District Detention Center. Yuanbaoshan Domestic Security Team agents Wang Heran and Feng Xiaohu tortured her to try to extract a confession. As a result of the abuse, Ms. Cong's face, leg, and abdomen were injured and her blood pressure rose to a dangerous level. She has been hospitalized twice since her arrest and the police will not allow family members to visit her. On October 28, 2011, the police sentenced Ms. Cong to forced labor and transferred her to the Huhehaote City Women's Forced Labor Camp for two years.

Cong Peilan has been imprisoned at the Huhehaote Women's Forced Labor Camp for a few months now. She has been monitored around the clock and detained in solitary. She is not allowed to see her family, nor is she allowed to speak to or call anyone. The guards also took away her paper and pen.

Guards Liu Yanshuang and Li Huimin specifically persecute Falun Gong practitioners in the labor camp. They have also claimed that they intend to extend Ms. Cong's term.

Prior to practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Cong had a number of physical ailments, and she even thought of suicide because she had difficulty enduring the pain. When she started to cultivate Falun Gong, her sicknesses disappeared. Her back became straight and her severely bowed legs also straightened up. She could walk fast and she looked much younger than her peers. Her dramatic change surprised everyone who knew her. She said, “I was saved by Falun Gong. Master Li gave me a second life and did not ask for a penny. Right before I acquired the Fa, I was practically paralyzed and I could not take care of myself. After fellow practitioners read just half of Teacher Li’s lectures to me, I could stand up by myself.”

Cong Peilan truly experienced the magnificence and greatness of Dafa. She firmly believed in Falun Dafa. Yet, after the persecution began on July 20, 1999, she was frequently persecuted.

On February 2, 2001, Domestic Security Division leader Liu Weimin from the Yuanbaoshan District Police Department in Chifeng City and others arrested over 20 practitioners in the Pingzhuang District including Wang Xiuyun, Gao Shuqin, Shi Yurong, and Ms. Cong Peilan. The practitioners were detained in a meeting room in the Yuanbaoshan District Police Department, where they were pressured to give up their belief in Falun Dafa. Ms. Cong stood up to clarify the facts to expose the staged Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation. Deputy police chief Yang Zhenyuan, chief of the Xilutian Police Station Yang Xiaohui, Liang Yuhui, and other officers dragged Ms. Cong out of the meeting room and beat her in the hallway. She was then detained in the Yuanbaoshan District Detention Center.

It was a brutally cold winter in northern China when Zhang Haiqing, detention center chief, forced Ms. Cong and ten other practitioners to stand outside in the snow. Ms. Cong had on only a thin sweater. Her fingers froze, and when she was brought back inside for just a few minutes, the flesh on her finger began to peel. Three days later, the skin on her fingers sloughed off and a yellow fluid constantly dripped from her bandaged fingers. The police brought in dirty rags and forced Ms. Cong and other practitioners to wash with them. Two to three months later, the police sent Ms. Cong to the Huhehaote Women's Forced Labor Camp.

Soon after Ms. Cong got out of prison, at about 10 p.m. on July 19, 2006, five plainclothes officers from the Yuanbaoshan District Domestic Security Division and the Xilutian Police Station broke into her house to arrest her again. Since Ms. Cong was not there, they confiscated many items from her home. The Yuanbaoshan District Domestic Security Division, local 610 Office, and local police station kept harassing her, causing great anxiety to her parents and child at home. In 2004, in order to shield her family from further harassment, she left home. The police listed her on a nationwide wanted list and also fabricated false evidence against her. At one point, they stated that their only goal in arresting Ms. Cong was to force her to renounce Dafa. When they found her again, they sentenced her to two years of forced labor.

7. Over-60-Year-Old Ms. Yang Cuiling Detained Seven Times

Ms. Yang Cuiling, over 60, is from Shanqian Town in the Yuanbaoshan District, Chifeng City. On June 13, 2011, she was arrested by police officers Liu Zhenting and Wang Huiong from the Kalaqinqi Domestic Security Division and Wang Heran and Feng Xiaohu from the Yuanbaoshan District Domestic Security Division. She was detained in the Jinshan Detention Center in Kalaqinqi.

On November 19, 2011, Ms. Yang was sentenced to three years in prison at Huhehaote Women's Prison.

Ever since she began cultivating, she greatly benefited from Falun Dafa physically and mentally. She became a noble and peaceful person. Since July 20, 1999, CCP personnel in Chifeng City have arrested her about once every two years and incarcerated her in an attempt to force her to give up her belief. One morning in October 2002, she was deceived by the Yuanbaoshan District police and taken to the police department. Officer Liu Weimin then forced her into a car and drove to a place in Chifeng City. Liu Weimin went inside the building. After he came out less than ten minutes later, he gave a notice letter to Ms. Yang, sentencing her to two years of forced labor. The police would not give any reason for her arrest and did not notify any of her family members. They sent Ms. Yang directly to the Huhehaote Women's Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia, over 1,000 kilometers away. It was already very cold then, and Ms. Yang did not have any money, personal items, or a change of clothes.

8. Ms. Li Chunxia Sentenced to Forced Labor for a Year

Officers from the Domestic Security Division in the Hongshan District Police Department unlawfully arrested 70-year-old Ms. Liang Xiuying from the Hongshan District, Chifeng City on November 9, 2011, in front of her home. She was arrested because she'd sent letters to clarify the facts about Falun Gong. Currently she is being held in the Hongshan District Detention Center in Chifeng City and is facing a sentence.

In addition to the practitioners listed above, from the end of February 2012 to mid-March, 14 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested by police from Chifeng City. Most of them were middle-aged or senior women.

10. 70-Year-Old Woman Brutally Tortured, Her Home Ransacked

The police also forcibly entered her home, ransacked it, and confiscated many personal items. They searched her home until 2 a.m. the next morning. Ms. Yang is currently detained in the Hongshan District Detention Center in Chifeng City and has been brutally tortured to try to get her to “confess.”

Ms. Sun Yurong, 66, lives in a family residential building associated with the Fourth Hospital of Chifeng City. Ms. Wang Jinglan is almost 70 years old. On the afternoon of March 7, 2012, several officers from the Dongcheng Police Station in Hongshan District broke into Ms. Sun's home and arrested her. They took her computer and other personal belongings and also arrested Ms. Wang, who had just come to visit Ms. Sun. The police also confiscated many items from Wang Jinglan's home and confiscated many of her personal belongings as well. Currently, Ms. Sun and Ms. Wang are in the Hongshan District Detention Center.

Her daughter, Yang Lirong, 40 , was also unlawfully arrested. The police ransacked Ms. Li's home and took her computer, printer, 32,000 yuan in cash, and even her satellite TV receiver.

These reports are only a glimpse of how intensely the CCP police in Chifeng City have been persecuting middle-aged and senior female Falun Gong practitioners. Much more is still unknown due to the CCP’s ability to restrict information.
