(Minghui.org) Mr. Fu Chengyou is a 66-year-old Falun Gong practitioner who has been subjected to years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party. He was arrested in 2011 and illegally sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. He was transferred from Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City to Yaojia Prison on May 7, 2012. Prior to being arrested, he had been homeless for nine years in order to avoid ongoing persecution.
Since the Communist regime began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Mr. Fu has been subjected to persecution multiple times. As a result, his family is traumatized and has been destroyed. Mr. Fu was arrested on July 2, 2002, by officers from the Nantai Police Department in Haicheng City, Liaoning Province, and was held at the Haicheng City Detention Center. While detained there, he was subjected to brutal tortures and developed symptoms of edema and serious psoriasis. The authorities didn’t release Mr. Fu until he was in critical condition.
Shortly after Mr. Fu was released, Wang Hongkui, head of the Bayuquan District Domestic Security Division; Zhang Lu; and other officers went to his home. They ransacked it and attempted to arrest Mr. Fu. When they saw Mr. Fu's seriously swollen legs, they were afraid of being blamed for his poor condition and thus they did not arrest him; instead, they took his wife, two sons, two daughters-in-law, and even his infant grandson and granddaughter to the police department. In order to avoid certain arrest, Mr. Fu had to leave home and go into hiding.
The police held Mr. Fu's family members for the whole day and did not release them until midnight. However, they detained his wife, Ms. Fu Peiling, for six days. Under the extreme pressure of being repeatedly persecuted by the authorities, her diabetes recurred and she passed away on February 8, 2008. She was only 58 years old.
On June 28, 2011, Zhang Ji and Liu Sen from the Yingkou City Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Fu's older son’s home and demanded to know Mr. Fu’s whereabouts. After not getting any answers, they sent Hui Huaiqi from the Bayuquan District Domestic Security Division to follow Mr. Fu’s grandson and granddaughter, who at the time were only nine years old. Hui Huaiqi followed them to their schools and harassed them, traumatizing the two children.
On November 28, 2011, the head of the Taishan Community Women’s Section led several officers from the Bayuquan District Domestic Security Division to Mr. Fu’s younger son’s home. They took him into custody and interrogated him for 24 hours about Mr. Fu’s whereabouts.
Mr. Fu’s older son’s wife, Ms. Shi Yuejiao, is also a Falun Gong practitioner. She was an English teacher at the Hongqi Town Middle School in the Bayuquan District. In 2004, the authorities attempted to arrest her, planning to send her to a brainwashing center. She was not at home at the time, and she had to leave home in order to avoid further persecution. She was fired from her teaching job.
Mr. Fu remained homeless for nine years. He was arrested by officers from the Dawa County Police Department when he handled some affairs in Dawa County, Panjin City, on November 28, 2011. The police detained him in Bayuquan, Yingkou City. On December 2011, the authorities in Bayuquan sentenced him to seven years of imprisonment.
After Mr. Fu was sent to Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City on April 5, 2012, his family tried to visit him several times, but every request for visitation was denied.
