(Minghui.org) May 13, 2012, marked the 13th World Falun Dafa Day and the 20th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public. Mayor Michael Estes of Traverse City, Michigan, proclaimed May 13, 2012, as Falun Dafa Day, honoring Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, and declared May 13 of each year from this day forward to be Falun Dafa Day in Traverse City.

Falun Dafa Day

Because, Mr. Li Hongzhi introduced Falun Dafa to the public in May, 1992; and,

Because, Falun Dafa practitioners observe the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance in their daily lives, striving to become better people in all environments and situations; and,

Because, Falun Dafa promotes the cultivation of body, mind, and spirit, inspiring millions of people through gentle exercises, meditation, and efforts to develop their moral standards; and,

Because, Falun Dafa practitioners worldwide are joyously celebrating the anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the public on May 13; and,

Because, transcending the racial and cultural boundaries, Falun Dafa embraces people of all ages from all walks of life; and,

Because, Falun Dafa has benefited our neighborhoods and the whole society, as well as over 100 million practitioners in over 80 countries worldwide both physically and spiritually, and Falun Dafa’s contribution to the society has widely recognized and honored the world; and,

Because, commitment of Falun Dafa practitioners to the peaceful resolution of conflicts under the most severe environment and their efforts to encourage people of the world to enjoy a healthy, harmonious, and peaceful way of being have touched the hearts of kind-hearted people everywhere; therefore

I, Mayor Michael Estes of the City of Traverse City, do hereby proclaim May 13, 2012, as

Falun Dafa Day”

honoring Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance in the City of Traverse City, and from this day forward proclaim May 13 of each year to be Falun Dafa day in the City of Traverse City.
