(Minghui.org) May 13, 2012 marks the 13th World Falun Dafa Day and the 20th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public. On this special occasion, Sally L. Hutton, Mayor of the City of Richmond, proclaimed Sunday, May 13, 2012 as Falun Dafa Day in the City of Richmond, Indiana and encourages all citizens to recognize this ancient form of Chinese culture through Falun Dafa, Richmond, Indiana residents to participate in the global effort in peacefully appealing for freedom and human rights for those in need.

Whereas, Falun Dafa is an advanced exercise and meditation practice of mind, body and spirit based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa transcends cultural and racial boundaries and contributes to the universal dream of a peaceful, tolerant, and more compassionate society; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa, publicly introduced by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992, is now practiced and cherished by over 100 million people in over 100 countries and has received a plethora of honors; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa exercise classes are free and open to the public; and
Whereas, volunteers dedicate their time to teach the exercises and share this form of the ancient culture of China, which has been almost completely demolished by the Chinese Communist Regime; and
Whereas, numerous practitioners of Falun Dafa are persecuted in China for their teachings; and
Whereas: Indiana residents participate in the global effort in peacefully appealing for freedom and human rights for those in need.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sally L. Hutton, Mayor of the City of Richmond, do hereby proclaim Sunday, May 13, 2012 as:
FALUN DAFA DAY
in the City of Richmond, Indiana and encourage all citizens to recognize this ancient form of Chinese culture, through Falun Dafa, Richmond, Indiana residents participate in the global effort in peacefully appealing for freedom and human rights for those in need.
