Argentina: Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day in Buenos Aires and Eight Years of Validating the Fa in Chinatown (Photos)

(Minghui.org) On May 13, practitioners in Buenos Aires gathered at the busy corner of Chinatown to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public by its founder, Master Li Hongzhi.

For the last eight years, this particular corner is where practitioners in Buenos Aires have spread the beauty of Falun Dafa and informed local Chinese and residents about the brutal ongoing persecution in China. Many Chinese people from Buenos Aires and a variety of tourists and local residents gather at this corner every weekend.

People gather to learn about Falun Dafa

On this occasion, practitioners celebrated a grand event: 20 years since the marvelous Chinese cultivation practice of Falun Dafa was given to the general public for its benefit.

As time has passed, practitioners have realized that Chinese people and local residents have greatly changed. Eight years ago, when they first started to hand out flyers and newspapers about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China, local Chinese and Westerners were reluctant to take the material, with some of them even saying negative things about the literature.

On May 13, some Chinese approached the Falun Gong stand and asked the practitioners for Falun Gong balloons that read “Falun Dafa Hao” (“Falun Dafa Is Good”) and “Zhen Shan Ren” (“Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance”) for their children. You could see the joy on the children’s faces.

Through persistence and endurance, practitioners have changed the view of local Chinese about Falun Dafa. At last year’s celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Chinese embassy unsuccessfully attempted to displace the Falun Gong booth. At this year's celebration, the embassy didn't even try to do it again as people have welcomed Falun Gong activities and know practitioners are good people.

Practitioners demonstrate the exercises

There is only one Chinese practitioner in Buenos Aires, making it difficult for practitioners to communicate with the local Chinese. However, by saying simple words in Chinese such as: “It is free” or “It is the truth about China,” many Chinese have taken the material to read. The majority of them now accept the material and their thinking has progressively changed.

There is more than one reason to celebrate this marvelous date: Chinese people have hope for their future and the truth is at hand. Falun Dafa practitioners will not stop in their efforts to awaken every sentient being as long as time allows.
