Additional Persecution News from China – March 24, 2012 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 7 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Daxing'anling City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Wei, Ms. Song Yulan, and Ms. Li Shujuan Arrested

Mr. Li Wei was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division in the Jiagedaqi District and the director of the Jiagedaqi District Police Department on February 22, 2012, when he was distributing Shen Yun DVDs to officers at the Weidong Police Station. On March 15, 2012, in order to rescue Mr. Li, Ms. Song Yulan and Ms. Li Shujuan were arrested for posting truth clarification materials. The three practitioners are being held at the Jiagedaqi Detention Center.

3. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Hu Yanzong Arrested

Mr. Hu Yanzong was arrested on March 15, 2012, in Dingzhou City. His wife, Ms. Sun Shouqi, was persecuted to death.

4. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Bai Xiufang Sentenced to Forced Labor

Ms. Bai Xiufang from Dingzhou City went to Qibao Village to distribute Shen Yun DVDs on March 7, 2012, and was arrested by officers from the Dingzhou City Police Department. On March 22, 2012, she was taken to the Shjiazhuang City Women's Forced Labor Camp and was sentenced to one year of forced labor.

5. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hao Xinping Arrested

On the afternoon of March 22, 2012, officers from the Laizhou City 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and officers from the Sanshandao Police Station arrested Ms. He Xinping and four other practitioners and took them to the Chenggang Road Police Station. They took a computer, printer, DVD recorder, and other items.

6. [Ningjin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Shang Arrested

On the afternoon of March 23, 2012, Ms. Yang Shuang from Ningjin County was arrested at home along with four other practitioners. The authorities confiscated copies of Zhuan Falun and other Dafa books, Shen Yun DVDs, electronic books, DVD burner, a portable hard disk, and other items.

7. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhu Peiqin and Ms. Lu Linmei Arrested

Ms. Zhu Peiqin and Ms. Lu Linmei from the Gaoxin District, Huguan Town, Suzhou City, were arrested by officers from the Huguan High Tech District Police Station on the afternoon of March 22, 2012.

8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wei Yuhui Again Arrested

Mr. Wei Yuhui from Leting County, Tangshan City, was arrested and then released on February 26, 2012, after being held for a few days. On March 19, 2012, he was again arrested at home and taken to the Kaiping District Forced Labor Camp, Tangshan City. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor.

10. [Tangahi County, Hebei Province] Additional Information of the Arrests of Ms. Zheng Jinzhi, Ms. Zheng Xiuhuan, and Mr. Zheng Baokui

Ms. Zheng Jinzhi from No. 8. Farm, Tanghai County, was released on March 3, 2012. Ms. Zheng Xiuhuan was sentenced to forced labor and is being held at the Kaiping City Detention Center. Mr. Zheng Baokui is still held at the Tanghai County Detention Center.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Lu Lin Arrested

During the period of the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Ms. Lu Lin went to the Great Hall of the People to file charges against Zhou Yongkang, who has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. That same day, she was arrested and her home was ransacked.

12. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Tian Jie Arrested

On the night of March 22, 2012, when Mr. Tian Jie from the Children's Amusement Park was distributing Shen Yun DVDs, he was arrested by officers from the Xinkai Road Police Station, Guangyang District, Langfang City, and taken to the Langfang City Brainwashing Center.

13. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Peng Qunxian, Ms. Lai Guiying, and Ms. Wei Zaixiu Arrested

Ms. Peng Qunxian, Ms. Lai Guiying, and Ms. Wei Zaixiu from Shuangliu County, Chengdu City, were reported when they were clarifying the truth on the morning of March 22, 2012. They were later arrested by officers from the Sanwayao Police Station and their homes were ransacked. A computer, printer, and cash valued at 10,000 yuan were confiscated from Ms. Wei's home. Cash valued at 3,000 yuan was also confiscated.

14. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Tongfu Arrested

Mr. Xu Tongfu from the Xu Village, Ganguantun Township, Guan County, was clarifying the truth in Dianxiang on March 20, 2012, when he was arrested by two plainclothes police officers and taken to Guan County.

15. [Xinhua County, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Guihua Arrested

Ms. Zhang Guihua from Xinhua County, in her 50s, was arrested by plainclothes police officers when she was distributing truth-clarification materials on March 20, 2012. Her home was ransacked and her Dafa books were confiscated. She is being held at the Xinhua County Detention Center.

16. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Shaoqing Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shaoqing, in her 60s, from Tuzhu Town in the Shapingba District of Chongqing was arrested by officers from the Geleshan Police Station, the Shapingba District, on March 15, 2012. She is being held in Baihelin in the Shapingba District.

17. [Chongqing] Mr. Tang Jian Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

 

Mr. Tang Jian,from Chongqing was arrested by officers from the Nan'an District 610 Office on November 1, 2011. On March 16, 2012, he was sentenced to three years in prison by the Nan'an District Court.

18. [Beijing] Ms. Mei Xuehong Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Mei Xuehong was sentenced to four years in prison by the Changping Court in Beijing. She is currently being held at the Changping Detention Center.
