(Minghui.org) After Falun Gong practitioners sued the police officers who persecuted them, the officers involved arrested more than 30 practitioners from Laiyang City, Rongcheng City, Chengshan Town, and Shidao Town, as well as other places on February 16, 2012. At this time we know that nine of these practitioners have been sent to forced labor camps, and many practitioners were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution or arrest.
On December 9, 2011, Ms. Ren Juling from Laiyang City was illegally arrested at the gate of a shopping mall by local officers in plainclothes. Xing Jianping, deputy head of Rongcheng City Domestic Security Division, and several officers broke into Ms. Ren's home and confiscated many of her personal things. Ms. Ren was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor, but the labor camp refused to accept her because of her poor health.
Ren Baoxue, Ms. Ren's husband, hired a lawyer from Beijing and sued Xing Jianping and several others who participated in the illegal arrest. A few days later, the case was accepted and legally registered.
On February 1, 2012, Rongcheng City Court informed Ms. Ren that she would be tried on February 10. However, later the court suddenly informed her that they were postponing the open trial. The excuse they gave was that the judge was studying out of town. That night, February 16, more than 30 practitioners from Laiyang City, Rongcheng City, Chengshan Town, Shidao Town, and other places were arrested. At least nine of them were sentenced to forced labor and many were forced to leave home.
Xing Jianping should bear the weight of responsibility for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in Rongcheng City. Since 1999, the Minghui website has exposed more than 30 cases of persecution in which Xing Jianping directly participated. Countless practitioners have been tortured. Many were even tortured to death or sentenced to jail. Dozens were sent to forced labor camps.
