(Minghui.org) Officials and guards at Siping Prison (also known as Shilingzi Prison) carried out a new round of brutal torture on Falun Gong practitioners, starting in 2010. They placed practitioners in solitary confinement, shocked them with electric batons, otherwise abused them, and extended their terms without following any legal procedures.
Mr. Zhou Jian is being detained in Ward 10. Because he practiced the Falun Gong exercises and refused to write the “five statements” to renounce his belief in Falun Gong, Ward 10 deputy head Zhou Jijia, guards Wu Tie and Yang Tiejun, and inmates Yan Dequan and Sun Gang brutally beat him and handcuffed his hands behind his back. They also shocked him with electric batons, resulting in injuries all over his body. One of the fingers on his right hand was disabled.

Siping Prison officials set up a new ward—Ward 11—around December 2010 to persecute practitioners, and assigned Zhou Jijia to be the deputy head of the ward.
On December 16, 2011, the guards ordered inmates Yan Dequan and Zhu Yonghua to torture Mr. Wu Xinning from Yanji City, because he refused to sing Chinese Communist Party propaganda songs glorifying the regime. The torture disfigured his left cheek so badly that it could be seen from just his profile.
Around 5:30 a.m. on March 2, 2012, Mr. Wu was tortured again for no reason. That night, his face swelled badly.
Because he was persecuted so brutally, Mr. Wu was physically weak and in poor health. He fell down from the upper bunk around 5:20 a.m. on March 5 and was sent to the hospital. However, the guards thought that he fell on purpose and tortured him again the same evening. As a result he was unable to stand or walk without support.
The following are incidents of persecution in Siping Prison in 2011:
Mr. Shao Changpu was brought to the education division. He was tortured by guards Li Cheng and Wang Hexun, as well as inmates Yan Dequan and Zhang Baocai, merely because he spoke while watching the news.
Mr. Jia Jinghe was tortured by Zhou Jijia, and his term of detention was extended.
Mr. Liu Dapeng was tortured because he refused to write a year-end summary.
Mr. Liu Hongcai suffered severe beatings and his face was swollen and disfigured because he refused to follow the guards’ order.
In addition, practitioners detained in Ward 10 are often made to do forced labor overtime. The guards in Ward 11 often forced practitioners to watch videos that slandered Falun Gong. They also had practitioners who refused to be “transformed” sit on the tiger bench.
Practitioners imprisoned in Siping Prison were not allowed to wash their faces or rinse their mouths. The guards persecuted practitioners with various tortures, even though some practitioners had been tortured to disability. There are still more than 40 practitioners in the prison. Many of them were subjected to term extensions without any legal procedures being followed.
Siping Prison is located in the Shiling Town Cement Plant in Lishu County, Jilin Province.
Those who have participated in this incidents of persecution include: prison head Li Guojun; Ward 11 deputy head Zhou Jijia; and guards Wu Tie, Yang Tiejun, Li Cheng, and Wang Hexun.
