(Minghui.org) There are approximately 120 prisoners presently detained at the Handan City Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province. Twenty of them are male Falun Gong practitioners who have been illegally detained there and subjected to forced labor. The practitioners are from regions south of Beijing and Tianjin within Hebei Province.

On the night of March 6, 2012, practitioner Gao Zeng from Chengan County was shocked with an electric baton multiple times by labor camp guard Huo Xuebin because he refused to give up his belief.

On March 10, Yi Ruijun from Cangzhou City was shocked with an electric baton for 10 minutes by Huo Xuebin as punishment for speaking to other practitioners.

Forty-seven-year-old practitioner Liu Jianjun from Shahe City was arrested by local police in September 2010 and sent to a forced labor for one year and nine months. In April 2011, he was transferred to the Handan Labor Camp. After nearly one year of detention he has become physically and mentally traumatized. This once healthy man now has symptoms of high blood pressure, pain in his heart and cervical vertebrae, headaches and dizziness. He was also verbally abused by guards Xing Yansheng and Huo Xuebin on many occasions. During the “intensified persecution campaign” launched in August and September 2011, Liu Jianjun was monitored by two inmates for over twenty days. He was watched even when taking meals and going to the toilet. He was reprimanded, insulted and threatened by Gao Fei many times.

Forty-two-year-old practitioner Zhang Liguo from Shahe City was sent to a forced labor camp for one year and nine months by local police in September 2010. In April 2011, he was transferred to the Handan Labor Camp and has been detained there for nearly a year. After he was arrested, he was injected with unknown drugs. As a result, his limbs became rigid and his height dropped from 1.75 to 1.70 meters. It was very difficult for him to walk. A year later, his physical condition improved slightly but now he can only walk and cannot run. At Xingtai Labor Camp, Mr. Zhang's term was extended by 20 days because he protested the persecution. While he was held at the Handan Labor Camp, he was insulted and threatened by guard Xing Yansheng.

Forty-one-year-old practitioner Mr. Chen Peiyun from Shenze County, Shijiazhuang City was arrested from his home by local police in March 2011. He was subsequently sent to a forced labor camp for a year. At Shijiazhuang Labor Camp, he was subjected to physical punishment for ten days. Every day, he had to squat on the ground from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. A drug addict inmate monitored him daily, including during meal times, while going to the toilet or taking a bath. Later, Mr. Chen was transferred to the Handan Labor Camp. When he arrived, his calves and feet were very swollen.

In August and September 2011, prison guards Gao Fei, Xing Yansheng and others carried out brainwashing on Mr. Chen for 40 days to force him to give up practicing Falun Gong. Every day from around 7:30 a.m. until around 1:30 a.m. or as late as 5:00 a.m., they insulted, threatened, and beat him, using coercion, intense pressure and other methods. The abuse caused Mr. Chen to suffer both physically and mentally. His weight dropped from 75 to 60 kilograms. Gao Fei, Xing Yansheng and other guards also beat him several times while they were drunk.

Also in March 2012, Lu Xiuxi from Hengshui District, Zhang Liang from the Handan City and Chen Zhiqiang were sentenced to forced labor and detained at the Handan Labor Camp.

Gao Fei collaborated with other guards to torture detained practitioners. Over the past years, many practitioners have become injured, handicapped, and have even suffered mental collapse as a result of the intense and prolonged torture.
