(Minghui.org) On April 24, Falun Gong practitioners in Vancouver, British Columbia, held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Consulate, commemorating the April 25 Peaceful Appeal. They held banners with the messages “Stop the persecution of Falun Gong” and “Bring the murderers to justice.”

Many local citizens expressed their support for Falun Gong. Aranda Leung, who is Chinese, heard about the event and came to the event to take pictures. She had learned about Falun Gong from her friends, and she supported the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. While speaking with practitioners at the candlelight vigil, Ms. Leung expressed her interest in learning Falun Gong.

During the vigil, the practitioners told people about the April 25, 1999 peaceful appeal in Beijing and the history of Falun Gong's peaceful resistance to the persecution. A practitioner said, “Everybody needs to account for their actions. Jiang Zemin, the major culprit of the persecution, has murdered many practitioners. He must pay for it, and we will bring him to justice.”
