Eight Practitioners along with Family Members from Yanji City, Jilin Province Illegally Arrested
(Minghui.org) At least eight practitioners and some of their family members from Yanji City in Jilin Province were illegally arrested on April 17-18, 2012. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Liu Chunli and Mr. Pu Wenzhe from Yanji were arrested at around 7:00 p.m. on April 17, 2012 by the Yanji police. More than a dozen officers ransacked Mr. Pu's rented residence on the morning of April 18, and confiscated his computer, cash and other valuables.
Mr. Liu, in his 30s, is an after-school counseling teacher, and lives with his older sister and brother-in-law, who are also missing. They were not seen at work the next day, nor were they at home. On April 18, unidentified persons were seen entering and leaving Mr. Liu's sister's home.
Mr. Pu, around 40 years old, of Korean nationality, had been living with his elderly mother. When he was forced to leave home to avoid the persecution, his mother was left alone at home, enduring great difficulty and suffering mental torment.
On the evening of April 17, Ms. Cui Yuzi, of Korean nationality, was arrested at home. The police mobilized several vehicles to make the arrest.
Mr. Xu Yunzhong left home on the morning of April 17, but didn't return in the evening. His father went to bed at 9:00 p.m., and someone knocked at the door at 11:00 p.m. Mr. Xu's father thought that Mr. Xu had returned, however more than a dozen police officers entered the room after unlocking the door themselves. They searched the house and confiscated more than 40 Falun Gong books, a computer and a picture of Master Li.
At around 6:00 a.m. on April 18, the police arrested Ms. Zheng Xiuqin. It has been learned that Ms. Zheng is currently being held in the Chaoyang Police Station. Another female practitioner unfortunately fell from the building as she tried to elude arrest, and has been taken to a hospital for emergency treatment. Information concerning the details of what happened is unclear and will be investigated.
Prior to these recent arrests of practitioners, Ms. Nan from the Wenhui Community on Jinxue Street was arrested on March 26, and Ms. Guo from Beishan Street was arrested on March 27.
