(Minghui.org) Recently when fellow practitioners shared experiences, someone said, “Those practitioners who are imprisoned must have human attachments; otherwise they could have gotten out.” Some people agreed with such thinking. But I don't think we should stop helping those practitioners even if they have loopholes. In other words, we can't go to the other extreme and care nothing about our fellow practitioners that are imprisoned.
Master said in “Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Chicago Conference:”
“Of course, we don't acknowledge any of the things that the old forces arranged--I as your master don't acknowledge them, and Dafa disciples of course don't acknowledge them either. (Applause) But after all, they did do what they wanted to do, so there's all the more reason for Dafa disciples to do even better and cultivate themselves well in the course of saving all beings. When you encounter ordeals during your cultivation, you have got to cultivate yourself and look at yourself--that doesn't mean acknowledging the ordeals arranged by the old forces and trying to do well amidst the ordeals they've arranged, that's not the case. We negate even the very emergence of the old forces and everything that they've arranged; we don't even acknowledge their existence. We're fundamentally negating all of their things, and all of, and only, the things you do while negating and getting rid of them is mighty-virtue. It's not that you're cultivating amidst the ordeals they created. Rather, you are to walk your own path well while not acknowledging them, not even acknowledging the elimination of their ordeals' manifestations. (Applause) So looking at it from this angle, what we need to do is completely negate the old forces. Dafa disciples and I don't even acknowledge the manifestations of their last-ditch efforts.”
We are Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples. This persecution is arranged by the old forces for the supposed purpose of testing Dafa disciples. Master doesn't acknowledge them. Dafa disciples shouldn't acknowledge them, either. Of course we are cultivating in everyday people's society. We are not divine beings but humans cultivating. We aren't free from making mistakes. And we are not afraid of that. We can cultivate and elevate ourselves when mistakes happen if we can measure ourselves with Master's teaching, discover our own shortcomings, and correct our every single thought according to the Fa. Even if we have loopholes, they are not excuses for the old forces to persecute us. Because we are Lord Buddha’s disciples, the old forces are not worthy of getting involved.
Although we are all walking our own paths, we are all cultivating in the Fa-rectification period, and such is the cultivation and elevation of the whole body of Dafa disciples. Each of us must cooperate well. We can't cultivate on our own like people did in the past or not care about each other.
Everybody knows that our every single thought is a substance. When your thoughts about fellow practitioners are not righteous or compassionate, you are actually throwing a bad substance into their energy field. That would be very harmful for them, especially for those that are imprisoned. I once talked about this issue with a practitioner who had been detained at brainwashing center. He said that, while fellow practitioners were sending forth righteous thoughts for him in the brainwashing center, he felt that the sky was clear and the body was transparent in his energy field, that there was a very powerful energy, and that his own righteous thoughts were really strong.
Think about it: When you say, “the imprisoned practitioners must have human attachments,” do you have compassion or kind thoughts for those practitioners? Is that thought consistent with the Fa? Haven't you, at least in some respects, admitted the old forces' arrangement? Meanwhile, that thought may also reflect your resentment against fellow practitioners. When you have such a thought, it's not good for you or those practitioners who are imprisoned.
Why is it not good for a persecuted practitioner? When your thoughts are not righteous, they will add negative substances to the practitioner's energy field and possibly prevent the practitioner from having his own righteous thoughts. With added difficulties, if the practitioner doesn't have ample righteous thoughts or his righteous thoughts aren't firm enough, then isn't it easier for the old forces to persecute him even worse?
Why is it not good for you? When the old forces see your thoughts, they might think: This practitioner has recognized my arrangements, I have to reinforce it and let the practitioner (in tribulation) follow my arrangements. In addition, because of your complaint or resentment, the old forces will create gaps between you and other practitioners. This is very dangerous.
Master said in “Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa,” “Whichever kind of life form your thinking aligns with, that life form will immediately have an effect on you.”
This means that we should study the Fa more and truly enlighten to the Fa. Every single thought we have and everything we do must align with the Fa.
Master said: “... a lot of things aren't as easy as you'd imagine. Cultivation is a serious thing, and the Fa-rectification is by no means something trivial.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference”)
Therefore, no matter what we say or do, we need to measure it against the Fa, and we need to be cautious with our thinking, speech, and actions. Nonetheless, it's inevitable that some practitioners are lacking in their understanding on this matter, since we are all cultivators, and even Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples that stepped out from the old universe. Master said:
“You need to be clear that a Dafa disciple's cultivation is about stepping out of humanness; it is to step out of the old colossal firmament that is restrained by all kinds of factors that result from endless, countless, innumerable beings in this old cosmos; it is to gain a new life, emerging from an environment that is at the last of the last stage of the formation-stasis-degeneration-destruction process of the colossal firmament. Who can step out of all of this? To escape everything and be able to truly enter the future is indeed very hard.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference”)
Fellow practitioners, let us remember what Master told us about the ultimate roots of all the bad thoughts we have. It is a very serious matter to fully and fundamentally negate the old forces—it happens in everything we encounter. We can't treat it casually or just with empty talk. I welcome practitioners point out anything improper.
