Additional Persecution News from China – April 9, 2012 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces. As per this report, 3 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 22 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Yueyahe Police Station officers in the Hebei District arrested Mr. Huang Liqiao on the afternoon of April 7, 2012 and took away his Falun Gong books, computers, and other personal belongings.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Meng Chunying Arrested and Taken to the Haidian Detention Center

Officials from the Ganjiakou Police Station in the Haidian District and individuals from the neighborhood committees broke into Ms. Meng Chunying’s workplace and arrested her on March 10, 2012. She is currently in the Haidian Detention Center.

3. [Beian City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yumei Arrested

Political and Security Section officers Du Hengli and Wang Yanqing from the Tongbei Forestry Police Department, and Xinglin Police Station officer Zhu Yunchang broke into Ms. Liu Yumei’s home on the afternoon of April 6, 2012. They forcibly took her into custody and also took away her Falun Gong books. Ms. Liu is currently in the Tongbei Forestry Detention Center.

4. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Wanrong Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor

Ms. Liu Wanrong from Yeyuan Town was arrested when she told people the facts about Falun Gong and was sentenced to one year of forced labor in March 2012.

5. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yuegui Arrested

Jinzhou City Police Department officials arrested 63-year-old practitioner Ms. Wang Yuegui on March 31, 2012. They also ransacked her home and confiscated her computers, Falun Gong books, about 400 Shen Yun DVDs and two wage cards. Ms. Wang is currently in the Jinzhou Detention Center.

6. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Sang Fengrong and Ms. Li Shuqin

Sandaogang Police Station officials arrested Ms. Sang Fengrong and Ms. Li Shuqin on the afternoon of March 26, 2012 when they distributed Shen Yun DVDs in a township. The driver who gave them a ride was also arrested, even though he is not a practitioner. The three were then sent to the Yilan County Second Detention Center.

The driver was transferred to the Yilan County First Detention Center on April 4, 2012. Ms. Sang and Ms. Li were transferred to the Harbin City Second Detention Center that same day.

Police officer Tan Yong arrested Ms. Tian Haiying from Shahejie Town, in her 40s, when she informed people about the persecution of Falun Gong on the morning of April 7, 2012. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

11. [Beijing] Mr. Guo Haishan Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor

Mr. Guo Haishan from Xiangying Village, Xiangying Township, Yanqing County was arrested and sent to the Yanqing Detention Center on March 7, 2012. Likely because of the torture suffered in the detention center, he appeared to have a stroke and was sent to the Beijing Police Hospital. The authorities sentenced him to two years of forced labor on April 3, 2012.

12. [Wucheng County, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Jinfeng Arrested

Wucheng County Police Department officials arrested Ms. Chen Jinfeng when she told people the truth about Falun Gong on April 5, 2012.

13. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] A Number of Practitioners Arrested

In order to rescue Mr. Huo Jinping whom Jiamusi City Police Department officials had arrested, his brother and sister came to the police department to demand his release. They then went to practitioner Ms. Wang Qingrong’s home. The police followed and arrested them and a number of practitioners who were at Ms. Wang’s home.

Jiamusi City police arrested a number of practitioners on the morning of April 5, 2012.

The arrested include Ms. Wang Qingrong’s husband Mr. Hou Deqing, Ms. Li Guifang, Ms. Wang Yanxing, Ms. Wu Qilian, Ms. Wu’s husband Mr. Da Xuezi, who is not a practitioner, and Mr. Huo’s brother and sister. They are currently in a detention center.

14. [Urumqi, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Ms. He Yuqiong Arrested

Ms. He Yuqiong was arrested when she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong on March 29, 2012. The police subsequently ransacked her home.

Plainclothes police arrested Ms. Luo Ronggui when she told people the truth about Falun Gong on Shahe Street on the morning of April 5, 2012.

Ms. Jiang Yuhuan and Ms. Liu Xiaoli were arrested when they distributed Shen Yun DVDs on the afternoon of April 4, 2012. They are currently in the Chengde City Detention Center and suffered severe beatings.
