(Minghui.org) Master expects us to cultivate ourselves into selfless, great enlightened beings. The new cosmos is built on the basis of selflessness. Then, do I truly believe in Master and Dafa? Is this belief based on selflessness? Have I truly given all of myself to Master's arrangements?

While practicing Dafa for nearly 20 years, I have been asking myself whether I truly believe in Dafa.

My cultivation has included life-and-death tests time after time. After a while, I felt that I could give my life to protect Dafa and that my belief in Dafa was entirely true. However, recently I suddenly found that my belief was built on the basis of selfishness.

I decided to write this article to share with fellow practitioners what I have recently enlightened to in the Fa and my understanding of true belief.

Many of us may feel that we can use our lives to validate the Fa and that this is enough to prove our firm belief in Dafa. But the feeling of being willing to validate the Fa with one's life may not necessarily be reliable.

Let's ask ourselves: Am I truly selfless? Have I truly given myself to Master's arrangements?

If the answer is yes, then ask yourself this: Can you share with others everything of yours, including your every move and every thought in your mind? If you have anything that you are afraid to expose, no matter how small it is, then you have selfishness.

The truly selfless ones are completely integrated into Dafa, without any trace of debris that is afraid of exposure. Everything is aboveboard.

Master said in “Teaching the Fa at the Assistants’ Fa Conference in Changchun:”

“I often say that people in Buddhism don’t know how to cultivate anymore. This is what I mean. They don’t realize it at all; their intentions are deeply concealed. Nowadays people have become very crafty. People today know how to hide their attachments. And then they hide the hiding of their attachments. When I look at this kind of person I know it’s really hard to save him. When I give him a hint about it, he himself doesn’t even realize this concealment of the thing he uses to hide his hiding. What’s more, when I point out his real problem—when my Law Bodies point out his real problem—he tries to deceive my Law Bodies, as if he were dealing with ordinary humans. He fakes it and says, 'Oh, I was wrong.' Then he again finds another cover to hide what he’s hidden—he uses another cover. How’s someone like that to be saved?! Now, you still have your Master teaching you and guiding his disciples here. But in those temples where no one is looking after them, how could they cultivate? Humans have come to this stage. What would you say can be done?”

Let's stop and analyze ourselves: Have we been trying to find a cover for our belief? Is the thought of having let go of life and death for Dafa also a cover for our belief?

Wherever there is self-interest, there is cover-up. Wherever there is cover-up, a substance deviating from the Fa is retained. If we are not able to completely assimilate to the Fa of the universe, then we won't be aware of our defects, and we won't be able to rectify ourselves.

Selflessness, on the other hand, is completely assimilated to Dafa and gives everything to Dafa. Therefore, it is indestructible.

At this point, I have an even deeper understanding of Master's article “Digging Out the Roots.” Thank you, Master!

I know that I have a way to go to reach true belief, but I will do my best to become a pure and selfless great enlightened being.
