(Minghui.org) Officers from Chifeng recently arrested five practitioners in three different operations. The officers ransacked practitioners' homes, pillaged their belongings, and tortured the practitioners.

Family and Friends Arrested and Detained

Ms. Li Yuzhi, 64, lives in the Hongshan District of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, which is under the jurisdiction of the Yongju Police Station. On February 29, 2012, she was illegally arrested by officers from the Songshan District for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. The officers subsequently illegally searched her home and seized her computer. They also took 32,000 yuan in cash and a satellite TV dish.

Deputy chief of the Songshan District Domestic Security Division Liu Long and other officers participated in the arrest.

Following Ms. Li's arrest, four officers stayed at her home for several hours with the intention of arresting other practitioners, saying that they would arrest any visitors. They put her husband, Mr. Yang, under house arrest. When one family friend, a non-practitioner, visited the family in the afternoon, he was also arrested.

The same afternoon, Ms. Li's daughter, Ms. Yang Lirong, in her 40s, and Ms. Zhang Cuimin, 40, were arrested by the officers waiting at Ms. Li's home.

Ms. Yang and Ms. Zhang are currently detained in the Hongshan District Detention Center. Ms. Li was released.

Practitioners Arrested and Tortured

Ms. Yang Xiurong is nearly 70 years old and lives in the Hongshan District of Chifeng, which is under the jurisdiction of the Xitun Police Station. She was arrested on the afternoon of February 23, 2012, while she was telling people the facts about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home until 2 a.m.

Ms. Yang is now in the Hongshan District Detention Center. The police used a torture device to extract a “confession” from her.

Xu Guofeng, the chief of the Songshan District Domestic Security, extorted several tens of thousands of yuan from Ms. Yang Xiurong's son.

Mr. Bai Jida, 32, works for the Chifeng city government. Around January 27, 2012, he was arrested for using the Internet to clarify the facts about Falun Gong and disclose the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) crimes.
