(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Yu Zongping was previously sentenced to three years at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, where he was subjected to multiple forms of torture, including beatings, electric shock treatment, force-feedings with chili pepper, sitting on a hard bench for extended periods, sleep deprivation, and being forced to stand facing a wall for extended periods. He and his wife, Ji Guangli were arrested again on February 7, 2012 while clarifying the truth. Daminghu Police Station officers arrested and held them at the Liuchangshan Brainwashing Center. Their family and friends placed earnest requests for their immediate release.
Three-year Forced Labor Camp Sentence; Subjected to Extreme Persecution
The couple went to Beijing on June 26, 2000 to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong, but were arrested. Mr. Yu's wife, Ji Guangli was held in the Zhangzhuang Detention Center for 15 days, then released.
On October 12, 2000, chief Ren Chuanwu from the Zhongloushi Police Station in Lixia District, and officer Xu Wanjin took Mr. Yu to the No. 1 Men's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province, to serve a three-year sentence.
Mr. Yu was subjected to multiple forms of torture, but nothing affected his belief in Falun Dafa. Forced labor camp officials offered inmates shortened sentences in exchange for participating in the persecution of Mr. Yu, and took turns torturing him. Guard Zhao Yongming even told inmates: “I don't care what you do, as long as you can transform him, that will work.” The inmates tortured him and other practitioners without restraint; they even threw practitioner Jiang Mingzhai into a bathroom full of feces.
At the beginning of 2001, all practitioners were concentrated at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp to undergo intense “transformation”. The persecution of practitioners was intensified.
Torture demonstration: Head and feet bound
At the beginning of 2001, guard Wang Xinjiang ordered inmates to participate in torturing Mr. Yu. They beat him, forced him to stand facing a wall for extended periods and made him undergo sleep deprivation. They knocked him to the ground, then contorted his body by stretching his legs apart, and pushed his head and upper body down toward his legs. Several inmates put a heavy coffee table on top of him, nearly breaking his back. He couldn't breathe. Guard Wang Xinjiang and several inmates sat on top the the coffee table and tortured him all night. They tortured other practitioners as well, including Zhang Xueqiang, Wang Yaodong, Sun Guangming, Song Yurong, Yu Zongping, Sun Rongzhai, Wang Shaoqing, Man Jun, Xia Qiang, and more.
During March and May 2001, guard Zhang Kai took Mr. Yu to a small room which contained a narrow bench. Mr. Yu was forced to stand on the bench with one foot and with both arms up facing the wall. He was forced to stand in this position until he collapsed. Guard Wang Xinjiang then beat and kicked him, and later began striking his face. When the guard tired of hitting him, he then pinched his skin. Wang struck Mr. Yu’s forehead with his knuckles until he was too tired to hit him anymore. Wang stomped on Mr. Yu’s toes with his leather boots over and over again. Mr. Yu was in extreme pain, and later, he couldn't take the shoes off his swollen feet. His injuries required six months to heal.
Guard Zhao Yongming forced Mr. Yu to undergo sleep deprivation. He organized four teams of inmates to take turns keeping him awake. Whenever Mr. Yu closed his eyes, they kicked or hit him. Mr. Yu was so tired that he couldn't sit or stand, and lost his memory. Guards ordered inmates to drag him across the floor. They also pushed his head into cold water during the frigid winter, then poured cold water all over him.

After extended periods of sitting on a hard bench without moving, Mr. Yu’s back was injured and he could hardly move. Guards Zhang Kai, Wang Xinjiang and others forced Mr. Yu into a chair, and pushed his head in between his legs--one could hear the sound of his backbone cracking, yet they didn't stop until they tired.
Mr. Yu still firmly believed in Falun Dafa, even after six months of severe persecution, so the guards intensified their insults and persecution. Seven guards brought him to a room which had paper and a pen on a table. They put the pen in his hand, then grabbed it and tried to force him to write a repentance statement. Mr. Yu resisted with all his strength, until the paper was torn into pieces.

The guards were unable to “transform” Mr. Yu, so they began using the most indecent, vulgar torture methods. They shocked his genitals with an electric baton. Mr. Yu warned them: “This is not a deed of any decent human being, it is intolerable to natural law! You will all meet with retribution.” Guard Jing Xucheng (team leader), Liang Junling (assistant team leader), Zhang Kai (education director), Peng Xubiao (instructor), Wang Xinjiang, Liu and Wang all held Mr. Yu to the ground and tortured him all night. Just before dawn, a guard ordered several inmates to continue the torture, which lasted several days. Mr. Yu developed leg edema due to the torture. This is only a limited description of the indecency and disgusting behavior of the guards – their actions were truly beyond words.
After being subjected to long-term sleep deprivation, Mr. Yu's memory declined tremendously, and he couldn't even recall some of the persecution he'd endured. During the three years at the forced labor camp, over two hundred people attempted to “transform” him, yet he never wavered in his firm belief. Over one thousand Falun Gong practitioners are being tortured and persecuted at the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.
The persons responsible for this persecution included guards Zhao Yongming, Zheng Wanxin, Jing Xucheng, Luo Guangrong, Sun Fengjun, Wang Xinjiang, Shan Yewei, Zhang Bo, Liang Junling, Li Qinfu, Peng Xubiao, Liu Ling, Zhang Kai, Liu Guowei and others.
Persecution Endured by Mr. Yu's Wife, Ji Guangli
Practitioner Ms. Ji Guangli was also persecuted on numerous occasions. On October 27, 2000, Daminghu Office director Ding Hong, Lixia District Zhongloushi Police Station chief Ren Chuanwu and officer Xu Wangjin took Ms. Ji to the Guodian Brainwashing Center. Nine individuals attended, including a person named Li from the Lixia District Procuratorate Bureau, and others named Zhang and Xu Ming. They tortured Ms. Ji from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. She was hung up with her hands cuffed from behind. She was rendered unconscious and her heart stopped beating. She was then rushed to Suncun Hospital but they refused to accept her. She was then taken to the Lixia District Hospital (Hongwei Hospital) in Jinan were she received emergency treatment. Following her recovery, she was returned to the brainwashing center. She protested the persecution by going on a hunger strike for five days.

On November 5, 2002, Ms. Ji was arrested again by Ren Chuanwu and Xu Wanjin, then held in the Liuchangshan Brainwashing Center for seven months. She was transferred to the Jiangshuiquan Women's Forced Labor Camp on June 2, 2003, however, forced labor camp officials refused to admit her after she failed the physical exam. Lixia District 610 Office director Li Dongfang bribed the forced labor camp officials with 5,000 yuan (approximately $800 USD) to accept Ms. Ji. She subsequently suffered brutal persecution at the hands of guards Wang Shuzhen, Niu Xuelian and others.
The persecution also affected their 12 year-old daughter and elderly mother, who struggled on their own for a long time.
On February 7, 2012, Ms. Ji was reported to authorities while she was explaining the facts about Falun Dafa. Daminghu Police Station officers arrested Ms. Ji and Yu Zongping, then ransacked their home. Ms. Ji was released after going on a hunger strike for two days; Mr. Yu is currently being held at the Liuchangshan Brainwashing Center. A brainwashing center staff member named Hu stated that he was responsible for handling the brainwashing activities, and that he worked for the Lixia District government.
The Daminghu Police Station director is Han Chao, male, 35 years old. He was a member of the criminal police squad from July 1999 to May 2002, and was assistant director of a squadron from May 2002 to January 2009; he has been the Daminghu Police Station director since January 2009.
