Mr. Deng Fushou from Chongqing Tortured to Death in Yongchuan Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Deng Fushou was arrested before the 2008 Beijing Olympics and illegally sentenced to four years in prison. He was incarcerated in the Yongchuan Prison. He died suddenly in early 2012. Based upon the abnormal physical problems that he manifested in late 2011, it is likely that he had been poisoned.

In late 2011, Mr. Deng suddenly developed open sores in large areas of his scalp, which later formed scabs. He also lost his eyesight all of a sudden. He later regained some of his eyesight after he recited the Fa. A Yongchuan Prison Hospital staff member once shouted to a detained practitioner, “We do human body experiments here. So what? It is allowed by the national policy and is legal. It is an order from our superiors.”

On June 6, 2008, just before the 2008 Beijing Olympics, officers from the Shiqiaopu Police Station broke into Mr. Deng's home in Baimadang and arrested him. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and two computers that belonged to his children. Mr. Deng was taken to the Huayan Detention Center in the Jiulongpo District. The officers who participated in the arrest include Chen Qigui, Ren Qifu, Yang Bo, and Xiang Longxi. Using evidence fabricated by the police, the Jiulongpo District Court tried Mr. Deng on the afternoon of December 29, 2008 and held a second hearing on March 10, 2009. Mr. Deng was sentenced to four years in prison and taken to the Yongchuan Prison.

The Yongchuan Prison established a brainwashing center in early 2009. It is made up of guards who are specially trained in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners from all prison districts. The center conducted research into each practitioner's situation and formulated a brainwashing program for each individual. They closely directed and monitored the persecution of practitioners carried out by the guards and inmates in each prison district. The center follows orders from the 610 Office and the Chongqing Prison Management Bureau, as part of a multi-layer, comprehensive system.

In November 2009, the prison refused visitations from the detained practitioners' families, with the excuse of protecting the inmates from getting swine flu. They escalated the persecution of practitioners by depriving them of sleep, beatings and other physical abuse. Several practitioners suffered a mental collapse due to torture.
