(Clearwisdom.net) Before I started attending school, I had the thought of transcending the Three Realms. After three decades, my hope had diminished.
I had thought of becoming a monk. When I was little, I even thought about traveling to India and seeking Sakyamuni. When qigong reached its peak in China, I learned about five different schools of qigong in two years. I wasted a lot of time and money for nothing. When I had lost all hope, a neighbor told me that a living Buddha is imparting the Buddha Fa in the world. My eyes lit up. “Are you telling me the truth?” She assured me it was true and told me the practice was called Falun Gong. “Is there any book about Falun Gong?” I asked. “Yes, it is called Zhuan Falun. It is available at bookstores.”
1. Practicing Falun Gong
The next morning while I was doing the grocery shopping at a traditional market, I noticed a copy of Zhuan Falun on a book stand. I looked at the price and immediately bought a copy. I held the book to my chest as though I had obtained a treasure. (Once I had read the book, I knew it was indeed a priceless treasure.) I clenched the book to my chest on my way home as though someone might rob me of it. It was June 1996.
I read Zhuan Falun from cover to cover in two evenings. I was so excited. I thought, “I have finally found a teacher that will teach me the Buddha Fa, enabling me to transcend the Three Realms!” The book had answered all of the questions I had had since I was little.
It was Sunday the day after I finished studying Zhuan Falun. I had just woken up when I suddenly felt I had diarrhea. About eight minutes later, I had to make another trip to the bathroom. I must have made countless trips to the bathroom that day, but I didn't feel any abdominal pain. I did not have any food or drink, yet I was neither thirsty nor hungry. In fact, I felt very energetic.
My husband, however, was very worried. “You are at risk of dehydration. You must go to the hospital quickly.” “I don't need to go to the hospital. Teacher is cleansing my body.” “Can you go to work tomorrow?” “Teacher is cleansing my body on Sunday. I will be perfectly fine. It is not going to affect my work.” When I woke up the next day, I was as good as new. “It is incredible,” my husband exclaimed. In the next few bouts of body-cleansing, I was perfectly fine at work during the day. Cleansing seemed to only take place in the evenings. It never affected my work. It was truly miraculous.
2. My Husband's Tumor Disappeared
About a year after I started practicing Falun Gong, my husband found a tumor the size of a peanut at the base of his right thigh. It moved when he pushed against it. “When did it appear? Is it benign or malign?” I told him, “Ignore it. My teacher said, 'Since you practice a righteous way, your practice will benefit others.'” (from “Your Mind Must Be Right” in Lecture Six of Zhuan Falun)
Driven by fear, my husband went to see a relative who is a surgeon at a hospital. “I will arrange a date for a procedure to have it removed,” the relative said. My husband confessed to me, “I am scared of the thought of having surgery.” “I told you. Ignore it. It might disappear soon. There is no need for surgery.” “Okay! I will listen to you!” Then we both put it at the back of our minds.
About a month later, my husband exclaimed, “Oh my goodness! It has disappeared! There is not even a trace! You are right!” “It is not me. I told you. My teacher said, 'Since you practice a righteous way, your practice will benefit others.'” I took the opportunity to tell him that everything in Zhuan Falun is true.
3. A Non-Practitioner No Longer Felt Cold at Night
In October 2000, a fellow Falun Gong practitioner and I went to Tiananmen Square to distribute materials containing important facts about Falun Gong. We ended up being arrested. I was detained in three different detention centers. Finally I was sent to Fengtai Detention Center in Beijing in March 2001.
There were over 30 women incarcerated in a small cell of a little over ten square feet. There was a head of the cell in each cell. There were upper and lower platforms. The upper platform was warmer because it was closer to the heater. The lower platform was colder because it was not as close to the heater. The lower platform was also close to the toilet. The head of the cell and prisoners who had been there longer sleep on the upper platform. The upper platform had enough room for each person to sleep on their back. The lower platform, however, was so crowded that each person had to sleep on their side. It was so packed that each person's chest actually touched the back of the next person. There was not even an inch of space between two people. If one went to the bathroom at night, she ran the risk of losing her sleeping space. I was locked in this cell for nearly three months.
Every day there were new people coming in and people being released from the prison. The sleeping arrangement changed practically daily. After a month, I moved up to the upper platform. A woman sentenced to one year in prison for fraud slept next to me. After three nights on the upper platform, she initiated a conversation with me, although she had previously refused to speak to any Falun Gong practitioner.
“Ms. Falun Gong, your body emits gong.” “Why do you say that?” I asked her. “As you can see, I have the lowest body temperature. Others wear a shirt and a jacket, but I have to wear an overcoat. Yet I still feel cold. The first day you moved to the upper platform, I felt so warm that I had to take off my overcoat. At night I even kicked off the quilt. Before you slept next to me, I felt cold at night with the quilt and an overcoat on top of me. I wondered if it was because of you. I thought I would see what happens for a few days. I have been feeling warm for three days. I am certain it is because of you that I feel warm. You must have supernormal capabilities.” I told her, “You must have a predestined relationship with Falun Gong.” She added, “I will soon be released. The first thing I shall do when I return home is to find a copy of Zhuan Falun. I will learn to practice Falun Gong.” She suffered from a very severe form of heart disease. She had to have emergency resuscitation every few days. After I moved up to the upper platform, she never had any heart problems.
When I thought of Teacher's compassion, I did not feel hardship in jail. I felt enormously fortunate to have found Falun Gong.
4. Cured of Prolapsed Disc after Memorizing Three Poems from Hong Yin
In May 2001, I was sentenced to three years of prison in Beijing for practicing Falun Gong. In July, I was sent back to a prison in my hometown.
In prison, I refused to perform any labor. I only performed labor when I saw an opportunity to spread Falun Gong to prison inmates. An inmate always reproached Falun Gong practitioners when she saw us. She would shout, “You fools! You psychopaths! You would rather be sentenced to prison for practicing Falun Gong than keep your job, your husband and your children! You are the biggest fools!”
She refused to listen when we tried to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to her. She was very stubborn. She would rant whenever she was offended. In the end, we just left her alone.
After a year later, one day she suddenly pulled me aside and asked me to teach her the Falun Gong exercises. I was astonished. Before I was able to respond, she said, “I mean it. I have been thinking about it for a few days. I am not afraid of being caught. I have thought of what to say to the disciplinary staff if I were caught. I will tell them, 'You either kill me or let me practice Falun Gong!'”
Three months before, she had started suffering from severe back pain. She was sent to the prison hospital where she was diagnosed with a prolapsed disc. She was in the hospital for a month and had to pay for a month of medical expenses. However, she was not cured. In fact, it got worse over time. The pain was most severe at night and in the morning. She could not lay down or get up. She confessed, “When people complained about back pain, I scolded them and called them actors. Now I am suffering from back pain, I finally know what it feels like. Locked in prison, I cannot kill myself, but it is so painful to live. All of a sudden I thought of Falun Gong. After a year of observation, I know you are all very good people. You are all honest and well educated. You must be telling the truth about Falun Gong. Otherwise, why would you have such steadfast faith?” Finally she asked, “Do you have the courage to teach me Falun Gong here?” “If you have the courage to learn, I have the courage to teach you. But we don't need to start with the Falun Gong exercises. There are eyes everywhere. Someone will report us before you even learn the first exercise. Why don't you start with studying the Fa? I will write down a few poems from Hong Yin. Why don't you start by memorizing them?” She exclaimed, “Oh, no! It is too difficult for me. When I was in school, my biggest fear was recitals.” I said, “No worries. As long as you are sincere about learning Falun Gong, just try to memorize the poems.” She asked, “And it will work on me?” “It will work as long as your heart is pure.” She said, “How can I not be sincere when I am about to die?”
I wrote down five poems from Hong Yin, starting with “Tempering One's Heart and Will.” “Memorize these poems before I give you more.” On the fifth morning while I was on my way to the bathroom, she exited from the bathroom looking excited. She pulled me aside and told me, “Now I know why you believe in Falun Gong! It is miraculous! I had just memorized three poems when my back pain disappeared. This morning I was on my way to the bathroom when I realized the back pain was gone.” She went back to bed without washing her face. She laid down and got up repeatedly and made sure the back pain was gone. I, too, became excited. I did not expect that the back pain would be gone so soon. My sister-in-law was diagnosed with a prolapsed disc when she was young. She went to several major hospitals and spent more than 10,000 yuan on medical treatments, but she continues to suffer from a prolapsed disc. This inmate was cured after memorizing only three poems from Hong Yin. Teacher must have seen her pure heart and removed the sickness karma from her.
In addition, she stopped cursing people in her sleep. She used to have an unusual problem. She would scold and curse people at night so loud that she would wake up 100 inmates in four cells, yet she would continue to sleep. She cursed in her sleep every few nights. Since she started memorizing the poems, she stopped cursing people during her sleep. One evening a prisoner exclaimed, “Wait a minute! It has been many days since she last cursed in her sleep!” Then everyone started discussing. “Indeed! What has made her stop?”
Since then she often told the prison inmates assigned to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners to stop ranting or beating Falun Gong practitioners. She told them to find a way to protect Falun Gong practitioners. She told them how Falun Gong cured her back pain.
I had wanted to share these stories, but I felt they were trivial in comparison to some major miracles reported on minghui.ca.
I have decided to share these stories to prove that Falun Gong is not superstitious and it transcends human science. In addition, these stories prove that no one is able to prevail over the Buddha Fa. Jiang Zemin, former chairman of the Chinese Communist Party, planned to eradicate Falun Gong within three months, yet it has been 13 years since he outlawed Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. People around the world are practicing Falun Gong. The number of Falun Gong practitioners keeps increasing. Yet people who persecute Falun Gong will ultimately be punished by Heaven.
