(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Li from Pingdu City in Shandong Province was illegally arrested at the market in Xiangdian on January 13. She was beaten by a group of police who took her to get a physical exam and a sample of her blood against her will and then detained her for three days. Throughout the ordeal, Ms. Li warned the officers involved that they would be punished for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Li was arrested by officers from Pingdu 610 Office and Hongkong Street Police Station, who then took her to Pingdu Secondary Hospital for a physical. She was detained in Pingdu Detention Center.

Ms. Li was released on January 16. From her description of what she endured, we know that the police officers involved had been coerced and used by the Communist regime and felt guilty about what they were doing. Some said, “Don't put my name down on the list of perpetrators.” Others said, “Quickly disintegrate the Communist regime, then I don't have to do such bad things any more.”

The following is Ms. Li's firsthand account of what happened.

On January 13, I went to Xiangdian Market. Four or five men surrounded me. One of them was from the Pingdu 610 Office. They picked me up and carried me to the market's administration office. When I shouted, “Falun Dafa is good,” the man from the 610 Office yelled at me and ordered me to sit down. When I refused, another man came over and the two of them pushed me down. They stepped on my back and pulled my hair.

After more than half an hour, they called the Hongkong Street Police Station. The police officers grabbed me by my hair and dragged me to the door. I was picked up and shoved into a police car. I kept shouting, “Falun Dafa is good!” Afraid that people in the market would hear me, in the car they held my head down until it touched my lower back.

I was locked up in the duty officer's dormitory room at the police station. They pointed to a man and told me that he was their leader. I told him the facts about Falun Gong and about quitting the CCP and answered his questions. I also showed him the first set of Falun Gong exercises.

After a while, Liu Jie, an agent from Pingdu Security Section, came in. He had come to interrogate me. The first thing he said was, “Falun Gong practitioners are good people and I am tired of persecuting them.” I encouraged him to leave his position and stop persecuting them. Liu Jie searched my bag and found a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, around 100 yuan in cash, and my house key. He took the key and left. Some time later, he came back and put the key back in my bag.

Liu Jie showed me three copies of the Nine Commentaries and a New Year's picture with messages about Falun Gong. He told me that, because I was distributing these materials to people in the market, I would be detained for 15 days. I said, “You are clearly aware that your name is on the list of wrongdoers.” He got angry and nervous and struck my face with a copy of the Nine Commentaries. Another man also hit me in the face with a copy of the Nine Commentaries. I shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!”

At night, I was taken to Pingdu Chinese Medicine Hospital for a physical. They put handcuffs on me and pushed me down on the floor. Then, several men viciously kicked my face and body. My face was covered in bruises. I was lifted into the police car and forced to kneel in the narrow space between the front and back seats.

At the hospital they carried me into a room and got a female doctor in her 30s to examine me. I told the doctor, “I am a Falun Gong practitioner and I am not ill. I don't need to be examined.” The doctor told the police, “I will leave the room and come back when you have settled the matter.”

When the police saw that I refused to cooperate and submit to being examined, they called Liu Jie. After he talked with the doctor, they picked me up and put me on the table on my back. The police pulled my shackled hands above my head and held them down. Four or five people held my left arm and took blood samples. It felt as if my arm was fractured. My mouth was stuffed with a scarf so that I could not cry out. Afterwards, for a very long time, I could not move my arms. They would hurt excruciatingly when I put on my clothes or tied my hair.

I was taken back to Pingdu Detention Center after the examination and detained for three days. On January 16, my family brought me home. The next day, my husband and I went to demand the return of my stolen personal belongings, including our electric car. These were returned to us.

Several days later, my family members told me they were deceived by the detention center and ended up signing a slanderous document claiming I had applied for three days' leave from my workplace. The authorities also extorted 1,200 yuan from them.
