Additional Persecution News from China – February 22, 2012 (16 Reports)

(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in five provinces. As per this report, six Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Including Ms. Liu Junying Arrested

Officials from the Dongcheng Police Station in Baoqing County arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Junying at her home at noon on February 20, 2012. The police confiscated her printer and discs, and took two other practitioners into custody. Ms. Liu is currently detained in a hospital. The other two practitioners’ whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Bo Lan Arrested

Ms. Bo Lan from Kangjin Town, the Hulan District was arrested by five unidentified officers in a villa area of Jiangbei on the afternoon of February 20, 2012. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Xiuqing and Ms. Qin Hailong Incarcerated in the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Qin Yueming’s wife, Ms. Wang Xiuqing, and their daughter, Ms. Qin Hailong, were arrested and taken to the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City on January 5, 2012. They were sent to the Second Team the following day and held in separate rooms.

5. [Fuan City, Fujian Province] Mr. Guo Yaowu Arrested

More than ten officials from the Fuan City Domestic Security Division and the Saiqi Police Department broke in Mr. Guo Yaowu’s home and arrested him on the afternoon of February 12, 2012. They ransacked his home and took away Falun Gong books, informational materials that describe the facts about Falun Gong, and many of his personal belongings. Mr. Guo is currently being held in the Fuan City Detention Center.

6. [Shanghai] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Mr. Li Hailei from Donghua University

Mr. Li Hailei from Donghua University was watching a Shen Yun Performing Arts video at home on the evening of February 17, 2012, when the electricity in his home was suddenly cut off. Numerous police officers broke in and arrested him. The police ransacked his home and confiscated his computer, printer, disc-burning machine, cash, and his identity card. Mr. Li is currently being held in the Changning Detention Center.

7. [Liangshan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Yuting Arrested

Zhong District Police Station officials arrested Mr. Wang Yuting when he was posting informational materials about Falun Gong. It happened near the Liangshan County Party Committee building on the evening of February 18, 2012. After 10:00 p.m. that evening, Zhong District and Nan District police officers ransacked Mr. Wang’s home under orders from Liangshan County 610 Office deputy head Han Xingyue. They confiscated his son’s computer and about 3,000 yuan in cash. They also took his wife and son to the police station and didn’t release them until 4:00 a.m. the next day. Mr. Wang is currently being held in the Liangshan County Detention Center.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Li Xiuhong

More than ten officers from the Daowai District Domestic Security Division and the Dayou Police Station broke into Ms. Li Xiuhong’s home and arrested her on the morning of December 31, 2011. The police ransacked her home and took away many of her personal belongings, including her bank deposit books and cash that amounted to over 200 thousand yuan, two printers, a scanner, three cell phones, three MP3 players, and a recorder. Ms. Li is currently being held in the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center.

9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiang Guilan Arrested

Ms. Xiang Guilan, in her fifties, from Beijing, rented a unit near the Daowai Cement Plant in Harbin City. She was arrested at her rental home by officials from the Shuini Road Police Station on the morning of December 31, 2011 and sent to the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp in mid-January 2012.

Ms. Chen Guifeng and Ms. Song Guixiang were incarcerated in Ward 4 of the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison and suffered from brutal tortures.

The guards often confined Ms. Chen in a solitary compartment, handcuffed and hung her in the air, shocked her with electric batons, and beat her with a rubber club, bloodying her mouth and face. In addition, inmate Ma Lan severely kicked her lower body. This brutal abuse caused a massive hemorrhage.

Shunyi District Court officials sentenced Mr. Liang Weisheng from the Shunyi District to five years of imprisonment on December 20, 2011. He is currently being held in the Nihe Detention Center.
