(Minghui.org) Ms. Yu Peiling was arrested along with Ms. Wang Mingxiang when they were seen distributing Falun Dafa materials in Donghai County, Jiangsu Province. They were scheduled to appear in court sometime in November 2012.
Ms. Yu, approximately 46 years old, graduated with a Master's degree from Beijing University Health Science Center. She was a researcher in medical science and was well liked by her colleagues. She has been illegally sentenced twice and has been fired from her workplace because of her belief.
Ms. Yu appealed for her legal right to practice Falun Gong in 2000, but was sentenced to three years in Beijing Women's Prison. She was tortured there and subjected to brainwashing. The guards once deprived her of sleep for six consecutive days to try to force her to renounce her belief.
Ms. Yu was arrested again for distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and sentenced to a three-year term in 2005. She was taken to the eighth ward in Beijing Women's Prison. When she refused to sign a guarantee statement renouncing her belief, warden Huang Qinghua and other prison guards verbally and physically abused her. Huang ordered inmates to assault Ms. Yu. They kicked her in the legs and buttocks, causing severe swelling and bruising. The guards would not allow her to use the toilet when she needed to. When Ms. Yu refused to go to the “consulting clinic,” the guards took her there by dragging her along the ground. During her struggle, she shouted “Falun Dafa is good” and disclosed what the guards had done to her. For this, she experienced further abuse.
Warden Huang put Ms. Yu in solitary confinement and forced her to sit on a small stool, without moving, for long periods of time. When she fell asleep from sheer exhaustion, Huang poured cold water over her, and kicked her until her buttocks was severely injured.
Ms. Yu was unable to walk or stand without losing her balance. Her health was very poor and she frequently fell down. She also found it hard to concentrate due to long time sleep-deprivation. The guards lied and told others that she had mental problems, and constantly insulted her in front of others. Because she was not allowed to use the toilet, she had to urinate and defecate in her pants. She was not allowed to wash or change her clothes for days. As a result, the wounds on her buttocks festered and did not heal for a long time. Ms. Yu was released in 2007.
The Chinese authorities are again abusing the judicial system and trying to frame Ms. Yu in court in order to force her to give up her belief.
