(Minghui.org) Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials escalated persecution leading up to the 18th Party Congress, as it has frequently done before high profile events. A public notice announced a reward of 20 yuan for the removal of a Falun Gong poster and 2,000 yuan for the capture of an activist. During October 2012, Zhou Yongkang, the official in charge of persecuting Falun Dafa, went to Sichuan Province to supervise the preparations for stopping any disturbance. He conspired with the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and 610 Office agents, as well as residential committees, to escalate the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. Many practitioners were harassed, and at least four practitioners were arrested during that time.
On October 20, 2012, Hu Zhaoxu, the CCP official from Weiyuan Village, Texing Town, Luzhou City, conspired with several officials to harass a practitioner unsuccessfully. At approximately 7:00 p.m. on October 21, Hu Zhaoxu, Li Qiping, and Li Huaming drove to the practitioner's home. Li Huaming broke down the door, and Hu Zhaoxu confiscated an MP3 player. They cursed at her and blamed her for distributing Falun Dafa materials. They said, “The CCP is giving you money. From now on the CCP will not provide you with a retirement pension.” Still, they didn't find a thing they could use to charge her. The practitioner told them that good would be rewarded with good, while doing evil would be met with karmic retribution, but they paid no attention to her. When the practitioner asked them to repair the door that they broke, they refused and told her to report it to the police station. Then they drove away.
Clarifying the Facts about Falun Dafa
At approximately 10:00 a.m. on October 11, 2012, eight officials, two in police uniforms, followed a practitioner when she went shopping at the vegetable market and returned home. Two were female, Zhou and Li from the Hongxing Village Police Station, and the others were from the Dayiba Residential Community in the Longmatan District of Luzhou City. The practitioner tried to stop them from persecuting Falun Dafa and told them the facts about the practice. She asked them to keep in mind that “Falun Dafa is good.” They responded that Falun Dafa had been labeled as a cult by the CCP.
The practitioner told them, “Actually you don’t know the facts about Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa teaches people to become good by following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. People in more than 100 countries and regions practice Falun Dafa freely and publicly, including Hong Kong and Macau. Only China has banned and persecutes Falun Dafa. Our Teacher teaches us to be unselfish people of high morals. Is there anything wrong with that?”
She continued, “Jiang Zemin has been sued in more than 30 countries because he committed many crimes, such as violating human rights, torturing practitioners, and practicing genocide. Wang Lijun and Bo Xilai followed Jiang and removed organs from living practitioners for profit. Now both Wang and Bo are out of power. These crimes resulted in their being taken to court. Anyone who has participated in the persecution will be punished.” They demanded that the practitioner sign statements renouncing Falun Dafa and let them take photos. She refused, “No photography allowed! No violation of human rights! The statements are all defaming Falun Dafa.”
She warned them, “If you force me to sign the statements and I do, then I am harming you. Have you ever heard of ‘Good would be rewarded with good, while doing evil will be met with retribution’?” A woman official from the residential community said, “If you do not cooperate, your family will be affected.” The practitioner responded, “It’s harmful for you to persecute practitioners and implicate their families. You have no future if you persecute Falun Dafa.”
Implicating Practitioners' Families
One practitioner has been harassed since April 2012. Qiao Jianhua and Wang Gang, officials from the Luzhou State Security Bureau, looked for her everywhere. When they couldn’t find her, they went to her daughter’s workplace. They harassed her daughter and asked for phone numbers of all her family members. They threatened that she would be fired if she didn't cooperate. Later, they broke into the practitioner’s home and harassed her family.
The practitioner’s husband resisted the harassment. He told them the facts about Falun Dafa. He said, “My wife suffered from many illnesses before she practiced Falun Dafa, including kidney necrosis. We spent a lot of money on medical treatments and other qigong practices unsuccessfully. However, she became healthy as soon as she began to practice Falun Dafa. Just think about it: how could she stop practicing Falun Dafa?”
On October 22, they tried to call her and asked her husband where she was and what she was doing. They told him, “Why don’t you follow her? You should follow her every day, wherever she goes.”
Arresting Practitioners Ms. Wei, Ms. Zhang, and Ms. Huang
At the end of October 2012, other practitioners from Luzhou City were harassed. On the morning of October 31, Ms. Wei Xiaorong, Ms. Zhang Xinlian, Ms. Huang Chaozhen, and her sister were arrested.
