Additional Persecution News from China – November 2, 2012 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in ten provinces. In this report, six Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 34 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yushu City, Liaoning Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Xu Yaxuan and Ms. Yu Shuqing from Yushu City were taken to a brainwashing center on October 30, 2012. Family visits are not allowed.

Ms. Sun Zhongying, Ms. Han Zhirong from Heilin, Ms. Xu Yanhui and Ms. Zhang Yanqiu from Wukeshu Town, Yushu City were also arrested the same day.

Ms. Zhang Chunru was arrested at her workplace by officers from the Domestic Security Division on November 1, 2012.

2. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guiqing Arrested

Ms. Sun Guiqing from Bakeshu Village, Changshan Town, Donggang City was arrested on October 29, 2012. Her computer was confiscated.

3. [Faku County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Ping Arrested

Ms. Wang Ping and her husband (not a practitioner) from Faku County were arrested at home by plainclothes officers on the morning of November 1, 2012.

4. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Lang Dongjing and Three Others Arrested

Deputy director from Baishan City, Guo Jun from the Fusong County Police Department and another seven or eight officers barged into Mr. Lang Dongjing's home in Lushuihe Town on the morning of October 30, 2012, arrested him and took him to the Fusong County Detention Center.

At the same time,another group of officers went to Ms. Chen Changling's home in Baoshi Village, Yanjiang Township and arrested Ms. Chen's son. Ms. Chen was also detained when she went to the Township Police Station to demand the release of her son. Another female practitioner was also arrested. Three of them were taken to the County Police Department.

7. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yu Peiling and Ms. Wang Mingxiang Arrested

Ms. Yu Peiling and Ms. Wang Mingxiang were arrested for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong in Donghai County, Jiangsu Province. Their case has been submitted to the court on October 20, 2012 and a court session will be opened.

8. [Boxing County, Shandong Province] Mr. Dai Dongwu Taken to Brainwashing Center

The Boxing County 610 Office authorities sent Mr. Dai Dongwu, Mr. Song Baoqing and Mr. An Dehua to the Anqiu Brainwashing Center in Weifang City.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhan Xiumin Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Officers from the Yongjijie Police Station in Fengrun District barged into Ms. Zhan Xiumin's home on the afternoon of October 30, 2012 and arrested her. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Zhan's whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Tianjin] Ms. Sun Huamin Likely Arrested

Ms. Sun Huamin from Hexi District was likely arrested for explaining facts about Falun Gong on the morning of October 31, 2012. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Hongyun Arrested

Ms. Gao Hongyun from Zhangqiu City was arrested at home on October 31, 2012. It is said that she was taken to the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province.

12. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Yanfang Arrested on October 29, 2012

14. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Fenglan Arrested Again Soon After Her Release from Prison

Ms. Wei Fenglan from Longan Village, Songgezhuang Township, Laishui County was tortured many times. She was sentenced to five years in prison in 2008 and had been held in the Hebei Provincial Women's Prison. She was tortured in the prison to the point where her life was in danger many times. This October, Ms. Wei's term was over and she was released. However, soon after that, she was arrested again by agents from the Laishui 610 Office. Her whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Huaying City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zou Yunzhu and His Wife Ms. Li Shuyin Arrested

Mr. Zou Yunzhu and his wife Ms. Li Shuyin from Yueliangpo Village, Lushi Town, Huaying City were arrested by agents from the Guangan 610 Office and the Huaying City Police Department on October 31, 2012. Their home was ransacked and their computer, printer, VCD burner and consumables were confiscated. Ms. Li Shuyin was released. Mr. Zou Yunzhu is being held in the Lushi Town Police Station.

Agents also went to Ms. Zou Shidi's home and attempted to arrest her. Ms. Zou managed to escape and is now forced to move from place to place in order to avoid arrest.

16. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Xiuying Taken to Xinjin Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Xiuying's term of forced labor was over on October 30, 2012. On that day, her family went to the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong County and waited for her at the door. However, they were driven away by guards. The family inquired around and learned that Ms. Li was taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center that day.

17. [Chenxi County, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Heimei Arrested

Ms. Yang Heimei from Huangxikou Town, Chenxi County, Huaihua City was arrested on October 31, 2012. This is the third time in 2012 that Ms. Yang has been arrested. Before the arrest, agents from Huangxikou Town and Shangpuxi Township governments went to her home and harassed her many times.

18. [Luzhou City, Sichuang Province] Ms. Wei Xiaorong, Mr. Zhang Xinglian, Ms. Huang Chaozhen and Her Sister Arrested

Agents from the Hongxing Police Station and the Hongxing Market Community Office in Longmatan District, Luzhou City arrested Ms. Wei Xiaorong and Mr. Zhang Xinglian on the morning of October 31, 2012.

At the same time, Ms. Huang Chaozhen was arrested at the Dormitory of Public Road Bureau, and her elderly sister in Gaoba Residential Area in Longmatan District. Both of their homes were ransacked.

19. [Yunfu City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Jiequn Arrested

Ms. Chen Jiequn, in her 60s, is a retired employee at the Yunfu Pyrite Mine. She was recently arrested by officers from the 610 Office, who broke into her home. Her whereabouts are unknown. Her husband Mr. Mai Yuefa was not home at that point and avoided the arrest. However, Mr. Mai has had to move from place to place to avoid arrest.

Earlier, both Ms. Chen and Mr. Mai were arrested twice, sentenced to four years in prison, and sent to forced labor camps for a year.

20. [Nan County, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhang Chunqiu Held for Over 20 Days

Mr. Zhang Chuqiu from Nan County, Yiyang City, 49 years old, was sentenced to eight years in prison, and also sent to a forced labor camp for 21 months. He had been cruelly tortured in both prison and the forced labor camp for over nine years.

Mr. Zhang was released from the Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in Changsha City in November 2011. He then went to Foshan City in Guangdong Province and was doing odd jobs to make a living. Several plainclothes officers suddenly arrested him on October 10, 2012 and ransacked his temporary residence. He was later escorted to the Datonghu District Detention Center in Yiyang City and has been held there since then.

21. [Linshui County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Mei Lunxian Held in Linshui County Detention Center; His Life Is in Danger

Mr. Mei Lunxian from Linshui, Guangan City was arrested at his rented home by agents from the Linshui State Security Bureau on October 20, 2012, when Mr. Mei was working in Chongqing. His father, about 80 years old, went to the Linshui State Security Bureau to demand the release of his son. The chief Yu Li denied responsibility and told him to talk to the Procuratorate. Mr. Mei Lunxian has been on a hunger strike and his life is in danger. The court planned to try him on November 8, 2012.

22. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Kaiqun Arrested

Ms. Zhang Kaiqun from Binggu Town, Miyi County was arrested at home on the afternoon of October 31, 2012. Ms. Guo Huibing's family was also harassed at home that afternoon.

23. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Ma Jun Arrested by Plainclothes Officers on the Morning of November 1, 2012

24. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Qizhong Tortured in Deyang City Prison

Mr. Zhang Qizhong developed symptoms of high blood pressure after he was sent to the Deyang City Prison. Prison authorities forced him to take medicine for chronic high blood pressure. He was forced to stand outside and keep a military posture in winter. The skin on his palms cracked as a result of suffering from the freezing conditions.
