(Minghui.org) The road in front of my house is old, but busy. The road is over thirty years old and quite narrow. In the past, only pedestrians used it. Now, almost every household owns a motorcycle, which makes it very dangerous for pedestrians.
My husband and I mutually understood, “The evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) slanders Falun Gong with lies. Falun Gong practitioners have been doing everything possible to clarify the truth to people. However, there are still many people who agree to quit the CCP superficially, but still hold doubts and suspicion about Falun Gong. Our whole village knows that we are a family of practitioners. We must validate Falun Gong with concrete actions and save sentient beings.” Therefore, we planned on rebuilding the front wall of our yard, which ran dozens of meters right next to the narrow road. The new wall would retreat one meter into our yard, allowing the road to widen. Since the wall was very long and the price of cement was increasing at a fast rate, the project would be costly. However, as practitioners, we felt that we shouldn't hold back from doing anything as long as it helps save sentient beings.
During the construction work, most passersby stopped and complimented us, saying that the project was such a good thing. When they learned that we were Falun Gong practitioners, they often showed respect and admiration. For those who were our acquaintances, their first words were usually, “Falun Gong is truly good. You are on a high moral ground. Nowadays, it's quite difficult to find people like you.”
These words and our actions were transmitted to the local town government. The town's deputy mayor, formerly of the local 610 Office and his wife came to my house to witness the construction. The former local Women's Federation director said, “You are such nice people. Nowadays, others want to expand their yard, yet you're reducing yours. My son works in the town government, and he told me, 'Falun Gong has certainly transformed their family.'”
Some people asked, “Who told you to do this?” I replied, “Needless to say, Falun Gong and our Teacher told me to do this. If we hadn't learned Falun Gong, we would've never done this. These days, most people know that Falun Gong is good. Only the evil CCP continues to deceive people with lies and does not want people to be good citizens.” People smiled at me upon hearing those words.
I think that we've done the right thing because many people have actively sought after me to hear the facts about Falun Gong. Many people have since completely changed their view of practitioners. They are now willing to listen, and know in their hearts that Falun Gong is good.
To our surprise, our neighbor also moved their wall inward, reducing their yard's size as well. He told others, “Falun Gong practitioners are kind people and do good deeds. We should follow their lead.”
