(Minghui.org) On October 13, Divine Land Marching Band participated in the 2012 Pyeongtaek Port Marathon Assembly in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. It was the second year the band performed at the event. Their performance was warmly welcomed.
Pyeongtaek Port is the Northeast Asian trading port in South Korea and is the place via which most of the Korean cars are exported. Pyeongtaek Port is also the military base of South Korean Navy's Second Fleet Headquarters guarding the Korean West Sea. Athletes from the United States, China, Japan and other countries and more than 20,000 citizens including the US army in South Korea participated in the marathon.

Pyeongtaek Mayor, District Assembly Member, Speaker of the City Council, and many other dignitaries participated in this gathering, and praised the band’s performance. Many citizens participating in the marathon accepted and read the leaflets that Falun Gong practitioners distributed.

The band played at the marathon starting line. Starting at nine o'clock in the morning, whenever athletes reached the halfway mark and the finish line for the ten kilometer or five kilometer races, the band began to play. Some athletes applauded when hearing the music.

During the official welcome ceremony that took place later in the day, famous Korean host Mr. Joyounggu introduced the band. The band members then entered the central stage and performed.
Mr. Joyounggu introduced the Falun Gong Divine Land Marching Band. He said: "The Divine Land Marching Band is composed of Falun Dafa practitioners. They come from different walks of life and cultural backgrounds. The marching band has been established in cities around the world including the United States, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and other countries. The South Korean Marching Band was set up in 2006. Since 2007, when the band performed in the “National Assembly of Children,” it has performed 141 times across the country at various cultural activities in Seoul, Daegu, Busan, and Daejeon. The band received awards in “Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival,” “Bucheon Public Harmony” and other events.” Later the Divine Land Marching Band played music including "Falun Dafa Is Good" and other songs for thirty minutes on stage for the public.

Falun Gong practitioners distributed flyers to people at the event. Many Chinese people agreed to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations upon learning the facts.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, was made to public in May 1992 by Master Li Hongzhi. The practice is based on the universal principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. More than one hundred million people have benefited from the practice in improving physical and spiritual health.
On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party led by then head Jiang Zemin initiated the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Hundreds of thousands of practitioners have suffered from the cruel persecution for the past thirteen years.
