Additional Persecution News from China – October 13, 2012 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties and in five provinces. According to this report, eight practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least five practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Pai Arrested by Huanggu Police Department on October 12, 2012

Ms. Zhang Jie was arrested at home on October 11, 2012, by Heping Police Station deputy director Zhang Zhongsheng and two plainclothes officers. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a cellphone, an e-book reader, an MP3 player, and some truth clarification materials.

Ms. Zhang was taken to the Heping Police Station on May 12, 2012, for speaking with people about Falun Gong. She was released after her family handed over 5,000 yuan.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tang Li and Ms. Jia Xiuchun Taken to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Tang Li and Ms. Jia Xiuchun were arrested by officers from the Quanshui Police Station on July 19, 2012. They were taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in late September. Ms. Tang's family was told that Ms. Tang was sentenced to one year of forced labor.

4. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Ms. Feng Shumei Arrested

Ms. Feng Shumei was arrested at home on October 12, 2012, by officers from the Linjiang Domestic Security Division including Shi Dengfeng.

5. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] More Information on the Arrest of Mr. Gai Yongjie

The police broke into Mr. Gai Yongjie's home on September 25, 2012, and arrested him. They ransacked the place and confiscated a computer, printer, DVD writer, some cash, and other personal belongings.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Zou Shuyi Arrested

Officers from the Miyun County Police Station and the Domestic Security Team broke into Ms. Zou Shuyi's home on October 9, 2012, and arrested her. The police also ransacked her home.

7. [Zhangye City, Gansu Province] Ms. Wang Jing Harassed

Lu Bin, deputy secretary of the Ganzhou District Political and Legal Affairs Committee; Wang Shiying, chief of the Ganzhou Domestic Security Team; and other officials ordered Ms. Wang Jing to sign some forms. They threatened her family and relatives that they would send Ms. Wang to a brainwashing center in Lanzhou City if she refused to sign.

8. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xiurong Intimidated

Officers from the Renqiu Domestic Security Division ordered Ms. Wang Xiurong to go to the Renqiu Police Department. She was detained there for one day. The police told her that she would be put on trial.

9. [Shanghai] Mr. Fa Zhengping Detained Several Times

Mr. Fa Zhengping is a physics teacher at Yangjing Middle School. He was arrested on December 16, 2008, for distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials. He was sentenced to three years in prison and incarcerated in Tilanqiao Prison. He was detained in a forced labor camp twice during previous years.

10. [Huolin Gol City, Inner Mogolia] Ms. Wang Fenglan Detained and Her Home Ransacked

More than ten officers, including Sharhure Town Police Station officer Liu Zhigang, broke into Ms. Wang Fenglan's rental home on the morning of September 28, 2012, and arrested her. The police ransacked the place and confiscated a laptop computer, three MP3 players, three cellphones, an ebook reader, a power charger for motor scooters, Falun Gong books, Minghui Weekly, and other personal belongings. Ms. Wang was taken to the Sha Town Police Station and later to the Huolin Gol Detention Center to serve a 10-day detention. The police are still waiting and monitoring the area where Ms. Wang lives.

11. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhang Chunqiu Arrested

Mr. Zhang Chunqiu, 49, is from Nan County, Yiyang City, Hunan Province. He was arrested by several plainclothes officers from Hunan on October 10, 2012. His home was ransacked.

Mr. Zhang was sentenced to eight years in prison and 21 months of forced labor in previous years. He was released from the Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in November 2011. He went to Foshan to do odd jobs in order to make a living.

12. [Chongqing] Mr. Qu Yixuan Detained

Mr. Qu Yixuan, 67, is retired from the Jiulongpo District Railway Bureau. He was arrested at a practitioner's home on August 19, 2012. Officers led by officer Peng from the Jiulongpo District Domestic Security Division ransacked Mr. Qu's home and confiscated a computer, printer, Falun Gong books, truth clarification materials, and other personal belongings. After much inquiry, his family learned that Mr. Qu is being detained at the Bailu Hotel in Baishiyi Town. His family is not allowed to visit him.
