Additional Persecution News from China – September 28, 2012 (25 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in ten provinces. According to the report, 25 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 21 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Keqin Held in Detention Center

On the morning of September 17, 2012, Ms. Wu Keqin from the Chengyang District was arrested by officers from the Xifu Town Police Station in the Chengyang District for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong. Chengyang District Domestic Security Division chief Wang Mingjie and other officers barged into Ms. Wu's home with the key that they had obtained by searching Ms. Wu. None of Ms. Wu's family members were home. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials, VCDs, and other items.

Officers from the Xifu Town Police Station took Ms. Wu to the Haici Hospital in Qingdao for a physical examination on the afternoon of September 19, 2012. She was sent to the No. 3 Detention Center that evening. The center is located in Pudong Town, Jimo City, Qingdao, and supervised by the Qingdao City Police Department.

2. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Jiang Ming Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Jiang Ming was taken to the Lannigou Brainwashing Center in Guiyang City on July 7, 2012, and is still being held there.

3. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Chen Deguang and His Wife Still Detained

Mr. Chen Deguang and his wife were prosecuted by the Lanzhou City Procuratorate. The court withdrew charges on September 18, 2012. However, the couple are still being held in custody and the court is still planning to prosecute them under different pretenses.

4. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Xiyu Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison

Mr. Wang Xiyu was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison two weeks ago. No notice was given to his family. Mr. Wang has appealed the decision. He is still being held in the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao.

5. [Xinzheng City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Qiaoling and Mr. Wang Jinpu Arrested

Ms. Li Qiaoling from Xinzheng City was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division for explaining the facts about Falun Gong on September 15, 2012. She has not been released.

Eight officers including Xinzheng City Domestic Security Division chief Du Jie barged into Mr. Wang Jinpu's home on the afternoon of September 19, 2012. They arrested Mr. Wang, who is in his 60s, and confiscated a VCD burner, a computer, a printer, and other items. Mr. Wang is still in custody.

6. [Shanghai] Mr. Huang Baixiang Held in Pudong New District Detention Center

Mr. Huang Baixiang from Nantong, Jiangsu, was arrested by plainclothes officers in Pudong New District for talking about Falun Gong in Shanghai on September 15, 2012. He is being held in the Pudong New District Detention Center.

7. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Lin Zejing and Ms. Xiong Xiulian Tried

The Huangzhou District Court in Huanggang City put Ms. Lin Zejing and Ms. Xiong Xiulian on trial on September 25, 2012. Ms. Lin and Ms. Xiong have been in custody for over a year.

8. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Xuewen Arrested

Mr. Liu Xuewen was taken to the Dandong Detention Center on the evening of September 24, 2012. His home was ransacked.

9. [Beijing] Mr. Li Xiangding Arrested

Mr. Li Xiangding, about 54, is employed at the No. 7 Machinery and Industry Ministry. Officers from the Haidian District in Beijing barged into his home on the evening of September 26, 2012, and arrested him. His computer worth over 4,000 yuan, printer worth over 2,000 yuan and other items were confiscated.

10. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Chengling Arrested

Officers including Xiang Hongping from the Wendeng City Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Xu Chengling from Mishan Village, Mishan Town, in September, 2012. Her home was ransacked and her computer, several bags of informational materials about Falun Gong, and other items were confiscated.

11. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

On the afternoon of September 24, 2012, officers from the Liaoyang City Police Department Domestic Security Division barged into Ms. Liu Yanrong's home in Liaoyang City No. 163 Compound and ransacked it. They confiscated personal belongings, including Falun Gong books, filling up two cars. The practitioners arrested that day included Ms. Liu Yanrong, Ms. Sheng Xiuqin, Mr. Zhao Delin, Ms. An Yongzhi, and Mr. Liu San. They were taken to the Liaoyang City No. 2 Hospital around 2 p.m. for physicals, and each of them was forced to hand over 80 yuan in payment. Around 7 p.m., they were taken to the Liaoyang Detention Center. Mr. Zhao Delin was released the next evening because he showed symptoms of high blood pressure.

Ms. Bi Mingqin, Ms. Li Haizhen, and Ms. Ma were arrested on the afternoon of September 25, 2012, by officers from their local police stations. Ms. Bi and Ms. Li were arrested at home. Ms. Li's son was also arrested but was released later.

12. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Mi Guangping Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Mi Guangping is in her 60s. She was arrested at home on the afternoon of September 22, 2012, by agents from the 610 Office and the police station who broke into her home through a window. Her home was ransacked and her whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Xingren County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Wang Dengqiang Sent to Forced Labor Camp for a Year

Mr. Wang Dengqiang from Xingren County was ordered not to leave town. However, he did not have a job, so he found a job in another county and went there to work. He was therefore arrested and sent to a forced labor camp for a year.

15. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Jinping and Others Arrested

Ms. Zhang Jinping from the Jinzhou City Petrol Processing Plant was arrested by agents from the Jinzhou City 610 Office on the afternoon of September 24, 2012.

Mr. Zhao Chengjie, Ms. Bai Xiaoming and Ms. Sun Wei from Jinzhou City were arrested on the evening of September 25, 2012

16. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Chen Sent to Forced Labor Camp for Two Years

Officers from the Tiedong Police Station in Fuyu went to Mr. Wang Chen's home on August 10, 2012 and tricked him into going to the police station. He was subsequently arrested. After being held for ten days, he was detained as on criminal chrges.

Mr. Wang was sent to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp on September 26, 2012, for a term of two years. His wife, Ms. Nie Shuxia, had just been released from the Harbin Women's Prison on July 16, 2012. She suffers from heart failure and kidney failure as a result of persecution, and she is very weak.

17. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhong Zhenying Arrested

Ms. Zhong Zhenying from Zhenjiang City was arrested for explaining the facts about Falun Gong on the morning of September 27, 2012. She is being held in the Baotalu Police Station. Her family went to the police station and asked for her release. However, the family was not even allowed to see her.

18. [Ningjin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Hong Qi Arrested by Officers from the County Domestic Security Division

Mr. Hong Qi was arrested by two officers from the County Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of September 25, 2012. He is being held in the County Prison.

19. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Haichao Held in City Detention Center

Ms. Zhang Haichao from Xinsheng High School and her husband (not a practitioner) were arrested by officers from the Panjin City Domestic Security Division on the morning of September 25, 2012. Her husband was released. Ms. Zhang is being held in the City Detention Center.

20. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuxia's Home Ransacked

Ms. Li Shuxia from the Cuiluan District, Yichun City, fell over and passed out while driving an electrically operated motorcar on her way home. Traffic officers saw that she was carrying informational materials about Falun Gong. Officers then called the police station, took her to a hospital, then ransacked her home. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated from her home.

21. [Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Liu Xudong, Mr. Cao Jingdong, Mr. Zhang Bin, Ms. Sun Hui, and Ms. Liu Ying are being held in a brainwashing center. Ms. Liu Ying and Mr. Zhang Bin are on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.

22. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xiaoyan Arrested

Ms. Xiaoyan from Liquan County was arrested by officers from the Changlexilu Police Station in Xian City for talking about Falun Gong on the morning of September 27, 2012. Ms. Xiaoyan's family went to the police station and asked for her release. Instead of releasing her, the officers took Ms. Xiaoyan and her family to her home in Xinshi Township, Liquan County, and searched it. Finding no evidence that they could use against her, the officers then took Ms. Xiaoyan back to the police station.

23. [Huazhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Xiu Persecuted in Sanshui Brainwashing Center

Ms. Chen Xiu from Huazhou City was arrested by agents from the Huazhou City 610 Office and taken to the Maoming City Brainwashing Center. Because she refused to be “transformed,” she was transferred to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center in Guangdong Province.

24. [Chongqing] Mr. Li Xiangdong and His Wife Ms. Zhan Lanzhen Held in Huayan Detention Center

Mr. Li Xiangdong and his wife, Ms. Zhan Lanzhen, from Chongqing were arrested on August 19, 2012. The director of the Xiejiawan Police Station in the Jiulongpo District and eight other officers broke the door open, barged into the couple's home in Xiejiawan, and confiscated their computer, printer, Falun Gong books, informational materials, and cash totaling several thousand yuan.

The couple have been held in the Huayan Detention Center for 42 days and still have not been released.
