Additional Persecution News from China – September 18, 2012 (30 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 30 cities or counties in 14 provinces. According to this report, 39 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Laizhou, Shandong Province] Mr. Lu Chengjun Detained and Severely Persecuted

Mr. Lu Chengjun was arrested by officers from the Yongan Police Station of the Lanzhou Police Department on the afternoon of August 28, 2012. His home was also ransacked. Mr. Lu was sent to the Lanzhou Detention Center, where he was severely persecuted. He was also sent to a hospital and forced to undergo physical examination.

2. [Xiangtan, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhao Xianghai Transferred to Xiangya Hospital

Mr. Zhao Xianghai was a gantry crane operator in the Xiangtan Steel Company. He was arrested and imprisoned in the Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in 2006. In August 2007, the Xiangtan 610 Office and Steel Company's security personnel transferred him to a mental hospital for further persecution. Mr. Zhao was held in the mental hospital for more than 5 years; he was handcuffed and shackled. Mr. Zhao was transferred to the Xiangya Hospital in Changsha, Hunan Province, 2 months ago.

3. [Kunming, Yunnan Province] Mr. Liu Yong Arrested; His Wife Fired from Work

Mr. Liu Yong was arrested on September 1, 2012, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. On September 3, officers from the Menglian County Police Department and the Wuhua Police Department in Kunming ransacked Mr. Liu's home and confiscated his computer, printer, CD burner, USB driver and other property. Police also threatened the supervisor of Mr. Liu's wife, Ms. Liu Yan, at the Art and Science Institute of Yunnan Normal University and forced him to fire her. Ms. Liu has been left homeless and destitute.

4. [Yuncheng, Shanxi Province] Ms. Ji Fenghua Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Ms. Ji Fenghua was recently sentenced to 10 years in prison.

5. [Macheng, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Qinying, Ms. Zhang Jinju and Ms. Hu Suzhen Arrested

Ms. Zhou Qinying, Ms. Zhang Jinju and Ms. Hu Suzhen were arrested by officers from the Zhongyi Police Station while they spoke to people about Falun Gong in Yangjiayuan, Zhongyi Town, on August 31, 2012. The police forced each practitioner to pay 5,000 yuan before releasing them.

6. [Huanggang, Hubei Province] Many Practitioners Persecuted

Ms. Liu Juhua was a senior teacher at Chipi High School in Huanggang. She was incarcerated in the Wuhan Woman's Prison and transferred to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center on September 9, 2012.

Ms. Xiong Yanjiao from Huangzhou District, about 63 years old, was detained in the Huanggang Second Detention Center for 9 days in September 2012. She has been released.

Ms. Wang Jiaying from Huangzhou District, about 66 years old, was arrested around September 8, 2012. She was released later that night.

Ms. Chen Shuping from Huangzhou District was arrested in early September 2012. She was released the next day.

7. [Heyuan, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Forced Labor

Ms. Li Qingmei and Ms. Li Xindi were sentenced to one year of forced labor. Ms. Li Xiuqin was sentenced to 1.5 years of forced labor.

Ms. Li Qingmei and Ms. Li Xiuqin were sent to the Sanshui Women Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Li is still held in the Heyuan Detention Center. She has lost her eyesight as a result of the persecution.

8. [Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. An Jing and Her Husband Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. An Jing and her husband, Mr. Zhang Yongsheng, are detained in the Shenyang Brainwashing Center.

9. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Peirong Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Zhang Peirong, from Hongmen Village, Xiangshan, Haidian District, was arrested by officers from the Haidian Police Department on August 28, 2012. He was sent to a forced labor camp.

10. [Huaiyang County, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Sufang Arrested

Ms. Zhang Sufang was arrested in mid-July 2012.

11. [Jixi, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Xueshi and Mr. Wang Jiacheng Arrested

Mr. Wang Xushi from Dongfeng Village, Hada Town, Jidong County, was arrested at home on the night of September 12, 2012.

On the morning of September 13, 2012, Mr. Wang Jiacheng from the Donghai Mine was arrested by the Donghai Mine 610 Office and taken to a brainwashing center.

12. [Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Wang Shifan and Two Others Arrested

Mr. Wang Shifan, Ms. Huang Yindi and another practitioner were arrested by patrol police while talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong materials on September 14, 2012. The police sent them to the Domestic Security Division of the Xunyang District Police Department.

13. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Guohua Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Li Guohua was sent to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center.

14. [Pingliang, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhang Furong's and Mr. Zhao's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Zhang Furong and another practitioner with surname Zhao were arrested more than 40 days ago. Their whereabouts are still unknown.

15. [Changsha, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Xuehua Detained

Ms. Yang Xuehua, in her 60s, was arrested while she spoke to people about Falun Gong on September 3, 2012. She is being held in the Changsha First Detention Center.

Ms. Yang has been arrested for practicing Falun Gong many times and was once incarcerated in a forced labor camp.

16. [Lianyuan, Hunan Province] Mr. Huang Xinyu Detained

Officers from the Lianyuan Domestic Security Division rushed into Mr. Huang Xinyu's home and arrested him on August 13, 2012. They also confiscated all of his Falun Gong books and materials. Mr. Huang was held in a detention center for 15 days.

Mr. Huang, 78, has been persecuted for his faith many times. Besides confiscating his personal property, the police extorted 20,000 yuan from his family.

17. [Hebei Province] Ms. Shang Shizhen and Ms. Zhao Baoli Tortured in Hebei Provincial Prison

Ms. Shang Shizhen and Ms. Zhao Baoli were tortured by various means in the Hebei Provincial Prison.

18. [Kaifeng, Henan Province] Six Practitioners Arrested and Detained

Mr. Li Xiaojing and Ms. Hou Surong were arrested by officers from the Caomen Police Station on September 8, 2012. Ms. Jiang Shuli and another female practitioner were arrested the same day while they spoke to people about Falun Gong. The four practitioners' homes were ransacked.

Mr. Wang Sheng and Mr. Liu Jihe (from Dongjiao District) were arrested on September 9, 2012.

Ms. Hou has been released. The other 5 practitioners are being held in the Kaifeng Detention Center.

19. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yanhua Detained

Ms. Wang Yanhua from Sanshilibao Town, Pulandian, was arrested by officers from the Sanshilibao Police Station on the morning of September 15, 2012. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Pulandian Detention Center.

20. [Baotou, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Fan Jinling Detained

Ms. Fan Jinling, in her 60s, was arrested by 3 officers from the Qingshan Domestic Security Division on the morning of September 3, 2012. The Qingshan Police Department agents ransacked her home that afternoon. Ms. Fan is being held in the Guchengwan Detention Center. Her family is not allowed to visit her.

21. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Persecuted in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Wan Xiaohui's leg was broken 3 days after he was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Hao Qiujing, Ms. Xiao Chunling and Ms. Luo Jinyu are being persecuted in Division 3 of the labor camp. Their families are not allowed to visit them.

Ms. Wang Xuemei from Kuandian, Dandong, were force-fed.

22. [Shulan, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Jianying Detained; Other Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Beicheng Police Station harassed Mr. Dong Gang and Ms. Yang Guoshu on September 14, 2012.

The same day, officers from the Huancheng Police Station harassed Ms. Guo Xiuqing, Ms. Liu Chunjie and Ms. Liang Yujie in their homes and attempted to arrest them.

Ms. Yang Jianying was arrested at the bath house where she works on the night of September 16, 2012. She is being detained in the Danfengshanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Shangying Town.

23. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Fengyun Detained

Ms. Li Fengyun was incarcerated in the Changchun Third Detention Center.

24. [Beipiao, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Fengyun and Ms. Lu Huixian Arrested

Ms. Liu Fengyun and Ms. Lu Huixian were arrested and taken to the Beipaio Police Department by 6 or 7 policemen on September 11, 2012.

25. [Tangyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Sent to Forced Labor Camps

Mr. Wang Zhengyu was sentenced to 2 years of forced labor in August 2012. He was sent to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp.

His wife, Ms. Bai Guiqin, and his sister-in-law, Ms. Bai Guifeng, were sentenced to 2 years and one year of forced labor, respectively. Another practitioner, Ms. Cong Yanqin, was also sentenced to one year. The 3 women are being held in the Harbin Forced Labor Camp.

26. [Jimo, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Baozhen and Mr. Su Wen Detained and Tortured

Ms. Xu Baozhen and Mr. Su Wen were arrested on the morning of August 1, 2012. The police tortured them in an attempt to extract a “confession” for several days and nights. As a result of persecution, Ms. Xu's Hepatitis B recurred. She and Mr. Su also developed hypertension. The two practitioners are being held in the Jimo Detention Center. The police intend to sentence them.

27. [Tumen, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Huiqi Arrested

Wu Jilong, chief of the Tumen Domestic Security Division, led 2 policemen to Mr. Zhang Huiqi's home on the morning of September 17, 2012. The officers arrested Mr. Zhang and ransacked his home. Mr. Zhang is being held in the Domestic Security Division.

28. [Lushun, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guanghui Arrested

Ms. Sun Guanghui was arrested on September 19, 2012. Her home was ransacked by the local police.

29. [Gongzhuling, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Harassed by Police

Three officers from the Daling Town Police Station harassed Mr. Mao Xiang, Ms. Wang Lijie, Ms. Gong Shuhua and Ms. Guo Lanfang on September 8, 2012. They forcibly took the practitioners' photos and questioned them about their family members, cell phones, and other information.

Ms. Wang Xinyun was recently arrested.
