Additional Persecution News from China – October 1, 2012 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 21 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [ Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Xiumei Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Kong Hongyun accompanied Ms. Chen Xiumei to visit her relatives on September 9, 2012. On their way back, they were stopped by the police, searched, and illegally arrested when the police found they had Falun Gong informational materials. They were taken to Xiantai Township Police Station and forced to have their photos and fingerprints taken. After being given a cardiogram in Baoding Police Hospital, they were taken to Baoding Detention Center but were rejected.

On the morning of September 11, police used an excuse to summon Ms. Kong and Ms. Chen to the police station. Ms. Kong was sent home but Ms. Chen was sent to Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp that evening.

2. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Xuejun in a Coma and Hospitalized Due to Physical Abuse in Prison

Ms. Li Xuejun was in a coma and currently is in hospital after being detained and physically abused in Helongjiang Women's Prison.

3. [Linqu, Shandong Province] Mr. Yi Kaikui Held in Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Yin Kaikui was arrested on September 6, 2012 ,and is currently detained in Jinan Forced Labor Camp.

4. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Arrested, One Detained

Six practitioners were arrested in Fengcheng City on September 28, including Mr. Liu Chengjun, Ms. Sun Xifeng, Ms. Yang Kexin, and Ms. Li Cuihua. Mr. Jiang Fuyong and his son, Jiang Hongyu, were also arrested.

Mr. Liu is currently in Erlongshan Detention Center. Police took away his car and some Falun Gong informational materials.

Seven or eight officers broke into Ms.Yang Kexin's home. They took a laptop, a printer, some Dafa books and materials, and 3000 yuan in cash. Ms. Yang was arrested.

Ms. Li Cuihua's home was searched by the police as well. She was taken to Dandong City Detention Center. During the routine physical check, she had a fast heartbeat and was unable to speak or walk. She was not accepted by the detention center and had to be taken back to Fengcheng City Police Department. After having 10,000 yuan extorted from her, her family member was allowed to take her home.

Ms. Yang Kexin, Ms. Sun Xifeng, and Mr. Jang Fuyong and his son returned home the morning of September 29.

5. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Chengling Sent to Prison

Ms. Xu Chengling from Mishan Town was arrested on September 19, 2012, by police from Wendeng City Domestic Security Division. Her home was searched. She was sentenced to one year in jail and sent to Jinan Prison.

6. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested, Three Detained

On September 28, officers from Wutaishan Police Station arrested Ms. Si Guiyan and Ms. Liu at the kindergarten Ms. Si owned. Ms. Liang Limin, Ms. Hu Yanmin, and Ms. Tan Yinzhen were also arrested at the same time, and their homes were searched. Ms. Hu and Ms.Tan were released later that day. Ms. Si was sent to Yingkou Detention Center. Ms. Liu and Ms. Liang Limin were held in Yingkou Detention Center.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Tortured with “Stretching Bed” in Heizhuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp

In mid September 2012, “assistants” were taken to Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp by Jilin Province 610 Office to help in brainwashing practitioners. Ms. Li Jun, Ms. Ming Yanbo, Ms. Piao Taishu, Ms. Wang Lanying, and Ms. Xu Hui were subjected to various torture methods such as electric shock and the stretching bed.

Zhu Dan, head of No. 4 Division, shocked Ms. Piao with an electric baton. Ms. Piao was in excruciating pain and her cries could even be heard outside. Ms. Ming was subjected to the stretching bed torture, and she kept vomiting. As result of being beaten, both of Ms. Xu's eyes were blackened. Her term was extended 15 more days.

8. [Jianyang City, Sichuan Province] 88-Year-Old Mr. Liang Shenhui Arrested

Mr. Liang Shenhui, 88, had his home searched on July 28, 2012, and some of his personal belongings were taken. On September 17, police searched his home again. They took some Dafa materials and arrested him. His current whereabouts are unknown.

9. [ Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Gu Modi Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Gu Modi was arrested on the morning of September 28, 2012, after police broke into her home. She was sent to Jiangsu Province Brainwashing Center in Xinghua City.

During 13 years of the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Gu Modi has spent a total of seven years in brainwashing centers, detention centers, forced labor camps, and prisons.

10. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Yuying Detained

Ms. Zhang Yuying was arrested on the evening of August 31, 2012, by Pengcheng Police Station for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. She is currently in Beishan Detention Center.

11. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Tianqi Detained

Mr. Zhang Tianqi is being detained in Zhengding County Detention Center.

12. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Lei Arrested

Mr. Liu Lei was arrested on September 28 by police from the Shunyi District.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Wei Jinfang Detained

Ms. Wei Jingfang was detained in the Shunyi District Detention Center on September 28.

14. [Chongqing] Ms. Guo Shufen Subjected to Forced Labor

Ms. Guo Shufen, 72, was subjected to one year of forced labor.

15. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cheng Xianjiao Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Cheng Xianjiao was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor and was sent to Qianjin Forced Labor Camp.

16. [Kailu County, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Zhou Jinpeng's Family Harassed

Officers from the Kailu County Police Department went to the home of Mr. Zhou Jinpeng's relatives on September 21 and threatened them so they would report Mr. Zhou if he showed up.

17. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

On September 26, 2012, several practitioners were arrested. The identities of four of them are confirmed:

Mr. Ma Yongyan, engineer in the Jinchuan Group, Jinchang City.
Ms. Jiang Shixiang, 43, staff person in Jinchuan Group
Ms. Huang Xinlan, about 50, retired from a middle school in Jinchang City
Mr. Li Yurui, about 50, physics teacher at Jinchang Normal College

18. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Gu Shuhua and Ms. Zhong Zhengying Arrested

Ms. Gu Shuhua and Ms. Zhong Zhengying were arrested on September 27. Officers from the Baota Road Police Station made the arrests and took them to the city detention center that same evening.

Ms. Zhong was allowed to go home for medical reasons, but Ms. Gu is still detained.
